CZcams loves prolific producers, because they create faithful viewers that will jump over to CZcams as soon as they get notification of a new video, and then they can be there for hours. You can make a super great video, and everybody who sees it can subscribe and turn on notifications, but that does YT no good until you post your next video. Why do you think YT is pushing 60 second videos? Because all they care about is getting viewers to open the YT page.

Yesterday i saw a brazzers ad while trying to listen to some music, i think it was pegboard nerds or kai wachi, some dubstep creator basically. Then, because my phone doesn't have adblock, my phone, instead of blasting tunes, blasts "HEY! DONT FAP BEFORE YOU WATCH THIS!!!" and i think i lost 3 years from my lifespan bro

Yep. This has happened to my channel. I keep an eye my analytics. As soon as I upload a video, in the first 15 minutes, if it does too well, the views mysteriously slow at a rapid pace. They’re literally censoring views.
Me too. It was like they turned the water off. Im considering giving-up my channel. It's upsetting to put your heart into something only to have a bunch of bullies take it away. They've literally made it so I cant make money on the platform anymore. I have had some conversations with their reps that were downright antagonistic. Its a joke to them. So some simple rules:
1) videos with length under 3 minutes are excluded from advertisement placing.
2) videos with length between 3 and 7 minutes get 1 advertisement placed at either end.
3) videos with length between 7 and 15 minutes get two advertisements placed at both ends.
4) videos with length above 15 minutes get midroll advertisements every 15 minutes. The special marker will have locked, auto, and manual placing modes.
5) adverts must have maximum length of 30 seconds, the first 5 unskipable.
6) adverts will be categorised. No NSFW.
7) political adverts will be displayed after a "this is political advertisement from _[party issuing the advert] [country flag] [country name]"._
8) sponsored video's sponsor section does not count as an advertisement, but it cannot have advertisements placed within the duration.

YT is a job to a lot of people on the platform. Some can't afford to go on "strike" against YT. The best form of action would be to have every major youtuber turn their audience against youtube in an act of public pressure

The video block that he is refering to as a censorship instrument has NOTHING to do with the video content or CZcams servers. It is only afecting mobile streams on channels under 1000 subs.
For those who don't want to wade through fluff this video actually starts at 3:20. Everything before is just Optimus stalling and building up this new "feature" without actually telling us what the feature is nor anything about it (+- 30 seconds where he builds up a scenario).
The ironic thing is YTs precious algorithm has shown me this video and an earlier one (both from creators I hadn't seen before) highlighting their terrible rule changes that I wouldn't have known about otherwise
If this doesn’t affect mainstream channels like Late night talk shows and The media then you know exactly where CZcams’s priority lies.

To answer that "CZcams Crashing because of Popularity" thing, it has only ever happened once in the platform's history, and that was when the Trailer for Star Wars 7 dropped. It hasn't happened before, and it hasn't happened since.
I have a proposition for a new platform with the following features:
1. There will be 4 tags that can be added before posting a video: NSFW, NSFL, spoilers, and photosensitive
2. There can be shoutouts, but not direct advertising unless it is on that company’s channel as a video
3. Like Reddit, you can subscribe to communities and get videos from those communities as well as individual creators
4. Each video will contain a tip jar, in which all money will go to the creator
5. Each creator will have a formatted spreadsheet to put every social media they wish to display
6. Operated by a team who prioritizes performance and enjoyment over personal profit from advertising, as there will be a tip jar for employees
7. Livestream content must be legal, however, the creator or community can stream what is relevant to them (ex. NSFW creators can stream NSFW content if 18 or older)
8. Crossovers between creators will be made easier with integrated zoom-like software
9. Text posts can appear on a separate inbox with a simple setting
10. Integrated music streaming software for creators and fans
That’s what I have so far. We need developers working on it.

Yes and no.
It’ll reach a point where people don’t want to be on YT, and when they search for stuff, they’ll find it. Beyond that, even Google has competition as a search engine, and a lot of the problems that YT has is shared with Google and all of that, so I expect that competition will at least rise to be close to them at a certain point in time.
This is assuming the internet generally stays in a lot of the same ways as it is today
I looked into the feature, and it's not getting used in a political manner. It happens indescriminately, the first video to get hit with it was a video about cute dogs. What's happening is last year CZcams made a change to allow anyone (prior to this change it was only channels with 1000+ subscribers) to stream from mobile devices. This only applies to channels with under 1000 subscribers, who now can stream from mobile devices, however, CZcams has this safeguard to prevent harmful information getting spread through this feature, as streaming from a phone is much quicker and easier than making videos, and thus it may become an avenue for disinformation that nefarious actors may want to use. If a stream from a mobile device from a channel with under 1000 subscribers gets a large amount of traction, that's when this kicks in. The feature was initiated before the Canadian Freedom Convoy by the way.
It's really badly worded however. Maybe they did that deliberately so bad actors caught by the feature wouldn't know an obvious circumvention if it explicitly mentioned it's related to streaming, and thus these people would upload videos instead?

Thank you. From the way this has been explained and complained about you'd think it's happening all the time to any popular videos by any small creators, which would have led to a massive uprising. This is the first I've even heard about this "feature", so I think I can safely assume that hasn't happened. I can at least kind of see the purpose behind throttling mobile livestreams from small channels, and in some cases this might actually be a more reasonable option than not allowing anyone under 1k subscribers to use that feature at all.

Hypothetically: there's a thing called CZcams Vanced. It's CZcams, but with a built in adblocker, returns dislikes, and skips annoying bits of videos. You can turn off the features at any point in time. There's also a CZcams Music version too. There's a reddit and CZcams channel about it, and it's very easy to download. The app/apk itself is probably illegal, but downloading it isn't illegal. This is all hypothetical, of course, wink wink nudge nudge.

Years ago, they were trying to claw their way out of their position as best place on the Internet to find cat videos. So they could get rich. The objective has never changed.

The only way I can see a new service launching well is a subscription based service where your subscription goes towards the server rent/buy cost. The UI and backend are well documented and the codecs are pretty easy to deal with for an embedded video stream. We need bandwidth, sponsers and people willing to pay and move.
It would be directly funded by the community and if the community grows, more servers are added.
At this point I think the only way to get through to anyone working on CZcams is to walk straight into their headquarters, walking right into the face of someone, and screaming at them as loud as possible.
And even then it'll only _maybe possibly work_
Let's all simultaneously upload "inappropriate1' content on CZcams and start a revolution. It can't censor EVERYONE even if they tried. Let's show them what a REAL server crash looks like >:)

I just looked into this and apparently, this is only being used against channels that are streaming from mobile and have less than 50 subscribers at the beginning of the stream? it's not affecting desktop streaming (like obs or whatever) or videos

Being a youtuber was my dream ever since I was 8, seeing youtube getting worse and worse, and people hating on it. I am scared, and it's not stopping.
The last two criteria for switching are *impossible* for a new platform to meet if people don't switch. If there's no content creators than there will be no viewers. If nobody is willing to switch than the only creators will be the ones who can't publish stuff on CZcams. If nobody switches you can't get a viewerbase in the first place. And you wouldn't be able to generate enough funding to exist because not enough people are watching videos because not enough people are creating good videos to watch. If nobody switches than there will only be those that are banned from other platforms
Generally speaking if a group has a persecution complex the last thing you want to do is validate that complex CZcams

See, _BS like THIS_ is why there needs to be a multitude of able competitors for CZcams, otherwise they just pull stunts like this without consequences because creators and viewers alike neither have the power to thwart them nor have anywhere else meaningful to flee too.
Edit: OK, so it would seem “direct” competition is futile if not suicidal when it comes to combating YT, but I suggest that all the channels most commonly shat on (like music Channels, animation channels, basically anything most directly neglected or attacked by CZcams’s policies) gather together and form their own separate websites, gathered by all the most prominent CZcamsrs of whatever niche is being filled. One channel can be animations only, one can be music only, one can be news, one can be science, and etc etc….
Yep, now the entire platform is going to be inevitably affected by this. Including the food channels, game channels or any other fun/mundane channels, it goes on and on. It's ridiculous how youtube handles their platform when there are already some problems on this platform. Now, they're adding some more problematic things in here.

Odyssey, Bitchute and Rumble exist. Problem is people expect the world of the smaller sites without the backing of a multibillion dollar corporatations.
There are other alternatives to CZcams, but they can't compete with CZcams because they aren't as big or successful as CZcams.
3:53 I don't know if anyone else said this, but when CZcams was first created it didn't measure viewership by views, but rather by the clicks that the videos got. It's pretty much where the term "clickbait" got its name from, when people just needed a catchy thumbnail to grab those numbers.

As a really small creator, and has friends that do youtube too, this is a really bad decision, since they implemented "the bell" it's all gone downhill. I really hope that another platform takes over and hears their users, but I don't think that will ever happen...

CZcams holds a special place in my heart. It was my Saturday morning cartoon as a kid. Recently it's harder and harder to love CZcams. I simply don't understand why they keep making changes that no-one likes.

The ‘popularity’ thing is a cover-up. It’s just a way for them to dictate what channels they want to make life hard for, hence why only videos/streams of the Canadian truck driver situation are affected. CZcams don’t want people to be against the COVID vax for some reason.

I think it's because youtube wants to prevent competitors, they want celebrities and corporations to become more successful while keeping down the smaller creators. Basically, it's selective popularity

CZcams has to avoid outright preferring one video or one content producer over another, because doing something like that means that they are making editorial decisions, which makes THEM responsible for the content. But by saying "we publish any video that follows the rules", then they can continue to deny that they are the editors, and therefore are not responsible. Doesn't matter that all they have to do is tweak the rules until the content they don't like just goes away.

Something else that concerned me is that in the list that comes up when you report a comment, a little while ago a few new categories were added. Now one of the things you can report a comment for is "misinformation". My very first thought was "Oh, and who decides what's 'misinformation'? CZcams?"
Maybe that's because of all the bots channels, and this would be a replacement to the hidden dislikes (a new way to know when someone's videos are bad, and it's preventing people from getting maybe scammed).
this so called "feature" is essentially preventing any new/lesser known creators from blowing up, take as an example Martincitopants, that guy made 1 really good video that all of a sudden ended up in my recommended tab, and here he is 1 year later at almost 1 million subscribers thanks to the massive amounts of effort he puts in his videos

I say we start thinking of a way to boycott youtube. Preferably with the help of the big youtubers to spread the word.
I think we could start letting the youtubers know that they should work on filing lawsuits whenever possible. Keep getting wrongfully copyrighted? File a lawsuit. Getting a video wrongfully taken down? Lawsuit. Videos repeatedly set as "too popular" ESPECIALLY when you aren't even very popular? Lawsuit.
If the top creators start doing this or moving platforms, then that would probably cause advertisers to get worried and hurt CZcams in their pocket, it could work but it's unlikely.

I thought the thumbnail was a joke!? What does this update even achieve? One of my favourite channels started off from one very well made video that got understandably popular despite having no other videos or subs yet. This 'feature' might have prevented tons of people from finding that channel and maybe even stopped it from becoming a successful channel.

I'm used to CZcams actively cucking us at this point. I used to post a ton in the past and now it's a rare occurrence once reality set in with the current situation on CZcams
I know. I am someone who wants to make videos people can relate to and get big on youtube. This is a huge issue for other people who want to get big on youtube. They make it out as if small youtubers don't matter. It will be a hard journey for me and a large majority to other people wanting to be big on youtube.
CZcams has really gone downhill lately. All this stuff they're doing "for the benefit of small creators" hurts them in more ways than it helps. Don't want hate attacks? Remove dislikes, except smaller channels don't usually get hate attacks, and now they can't take criticism from their channels and learn how to improve their content. Want to get popular? Censor videos with not that many views, except all that does is force people away from a small channel to watch another big one like Markiplier or Pewdiepie instead.
Maybe I'm thinking about some other protest, but I swear on the news here in Britain we were told the Canadian trucker protests were protesting rising fuel prices. I don't remember them reporting Covid protests in Canada, or anywhere else.

This is literally happening to me.I got a email from CZcams asking to do a survey , I got to talk to someone who works there and he asked me what can they do to “improve the platform” , I found it laughable and told him adding a dislike button would be a good start and how CZcams’s credibility sucks. I probably shouldn’t of done that because I can’t watch certain videos now without it crashing lol .
"Limited creator history" means you are not allowed to make big views and hits if you do not have "legacy" in youtube basically this is to limit newer users from any form of promotion.

My guess is that this is targeting smaller channels that speak political opinions that YT doesn’t like, especially ones with a right-leaning disposition.
