▪️ As we can see a Spring Loaded Center Guide Presser Foot For 2-Needle Upholstery Sewing Machine is useful to get the flawless paralell line of stiches (6mm long) at a distance of 10 mm between them. There is blunt edge blade in the center of bigger foot which always remain in lower position following the central junction.
▪️ These stitches are called double stitches or french seams. For this demonstration I am using a double needle (140=22 needle size), post bed(6 inches high), walking foot Durkopp&Adler 268-FA-273 The leather material is 1.3 mm thick and I have not skived
its edges to do the sewing.
▪️ I consider this machine as a must in a professional upholstery shop. I know there are many upholsteres that can sew by eye ball perfectly straight. But not all of us have these skills, so it is advisable the double needle machine with the guide attachment.
▪️ BTW, the posts of these machines are adjustables and can be set to different measures to your requirements...1/2", 10mm, 5mm, etc. I hope you find this information inspirational and useful!

In fact, to perfectly get double stitches it is advisable the use of a double needle sewing machine. It could be flat or post bed.

I have a techsew 810 postbed rollerfoot that I have been using for shoes for the last few years, but I'm finding myself wishing I had a flatbed. Long straight lines, diamond quilting, french seams, I'm ready to move on from shoes and see what else I can do with the knowledge I've gained. I'm currently reupholstering my car (slowly, just for fun really) it was canvas fabric and I'm just making a subtle change to ultra suede/ alcantara in some spots- door cards, steering wheel, shift knob (done), shift boot, on a 370z. Luckily the car is small so I don't have alot to do, but the really long french seams are taking a while because I have to go really slow to be so accurate on a post with no guides other than chalk marks. This attachment looks like such a life saver, even on a post! Not that I could use it but for anyone with a double needle walking foot post. I think my next goal is to sell or trade my machine for something more versatile.

I would recommend you do not sell your roller foot machine. I used to work with them. Different foamed designs are done much easier with these machines. Adapting an extra wood table you would have a flat bed machine.
For the other processes try to get a triple transport sewing machine but do not get rid of your roller foot machine.

As my machine is a used one, it has a regular knee lifter. I really do not know if this model had a pneumatic system.

A cylinder bed sewing machine would be much better. You could have two machines in one by adapting an extra wooden table to the level of the arm.

@@Cechaflo 4 were very cheap , some old , some very old . One is a little janome from 1956 , a domestic machine and it's small but heavy and stitches beautifully . And my new big one is a compound walking foot , and it's great for thick leather work . Cheers 😄😁😆

Estimado maestro Miguel, a decir verdad, si es muy útil una máquina de poste para hacer tapicería de carros y muebles. Facilita la labor para coser las puntadas dobles. La altura de los postes son de 6 pulgadas y nos da un buen espacio para acomodar las piezas de tela, vinil o cuero que vamos a coser. Es ideal para coser las cabeceras de los carros.
@@Cechaflo si, los colegas de Leather Seats tienen esta maquina, creo que es Juki, pero es increible como deja las terminaciones de costura, bien paralelas cada puntada ( cosa que cuesta muchisimo en maquinas como las que tengo) , ademas es muy comodo el sistema, ya que sale con la tela de refuerzo y no hay que estar acomodando a cada rato, asique lo felicito por presentarla, y tambien por su trabajo en el canal, he aprendido muchas cosas, un gran abrazo!!

Beautiful work sir. I have a Sailrite ultrafeed LZ-1 walking foot machine thT takes a single 135-17 needle. Could I do double needle on that? If so where could I buy the foot and double needle?
Regularly double needle sewing machines have one needle bar that holds the two needles. The problem is they have two bobbins beneath.
To make the change would involve doing an adaptation for an extra bobbin below, plus new needle plate with two holes, a new feed dog, new presser foot, etc. This job would cost more than the machine itself.

Estuve buscando información en internet pero no pude conseguir. Un buen tornero la puede hacer igual y hasta mejor siempre y cuando se le facilite el modelo y las medidas que se necesitan. El torno y la fresadora se utilizan para fabricar estas piezas.

No vendo aditamentos para ninguna máquina. Yo solo soy un simple tapicero de carros.
Estas piezas se pueden comprar por internet (Amazon, Ebay, etc.) Un buen tornero las puede fabricar igual y hasta mejor en caso de no conseguirlas.

Esa pata venía con la máquina cuando la compré en Leon, Gto. Cualquier buen tornero/fresador, la puede fabricar con mucha facilidad. Tiene que ser para el modelo que tenga Ud.

It is a Pfaff 268-FA-273 The attachments ( a set of presser foot, feed dog, and cube to hold the needles) could be gotten on internet.
In case of not getting the right attachment an adaptation could be done with a similar item. Or a lathe operator could manufacture it from zero.
I like it, if you are this video then you have half the mind to know what is going on. Things are show, things are done, and it doesn't have the fluff (key jingling in the air) like most videos have.
I wanted to know the torque sequence of some bolts for a car engine. I had to sit through a 23 min video to find the answer because they had to explain torque, torque sequence, torque dry vs wet, bolt stretch, degree after torque. That is all fine but when the video is labeled "Head bolt torque sequence" then guess what i thought the video was about.

This backing strip is mostly used when we perform seat covers. It adds strength to the double stitches(French stitches), considering the seams are folded over to the sides. A seat cover endures daily stretching to the sides. The backing strips avoids the breaking of the sewing junction thread.

Ya que e buscado en Amazon, Ebay y Aliexpress y en ninguna tienda lo encuentro solo está uno que es para el modelo 267 y 269 y no se si le quede a este modelo 268, si me pudiera orientar dónde adquirir, gracias
Estimado Isaac, El prensatelas de mi máquina tambien es hechizo. Tuve que hacerle algunos ajustes para centrarlo mejor.
Si no consigue para el modelo de su máquina, mi opinion sería que observe bien cual se acomodaría mas a su máquina y luego hacer alguna adaptación/ajuste si es necesario.

Take into account that double needle sewing machines have two bobbin shuttles.
In a regular single needle machine it would be difficult to add the second shuttle.
In case of post bed machines things would be much easier because the posts are removable and can be single needle or double needle.

Estimado Alejandro, En realidad los mecanismos y partes de la mayoría de estas máquinas de poste son parecidos. Mi opinión es que Ud. ha comprado una excelente máquina. Afortunadamente estas máquinas fueron diseñadas para regularse y de eso depende todo. Los postes corren para ambos lados, nada mas es aflojar los tornillos por debajo. Los tiempos de los cangrejos se regulan igual que las otras máquinas de una sola aguja, nada mas que se tienen que hacer primero un lado, luego el otro. A primera vista parece complicado, pero no lo es. Si sería interesante subir un video relacionado.

Does a very straight clean French seam. However, I wonder if you have to make a sharp turn if you get into trouble because needle on inside of turn will continue to make stitches over shorter area than outside needle over longer area. Is double needle only good for straight seams? /John
I was wondering the same, and I have just asked Master Cechaflo about it. This machine makes incredible stitches!!! 👏👏👏👏
The machine is capable of doing double stitches along straight and curved (not so tight) areas. If we sew a round design on on a flat surface the inside stitches would be shorter. The posts are 6 inches high just enough to create a big room that allows manipulate big leather covers to do french seams. Double stitches on car headrests would be easier with this machine.

It can work out with one needle if I remove one, but for a continuous work it would be also advisable to adapt a single needle presser foot. There are new version machines that have a mechanism that stops one needle movement when necessary.

That's cambric in the video Cechaflo responded with, but I get stronger stuff that's specifically marketed as "cushion underlining". Cambric is woven and will fray if it's not secured. Cushion underlining is vinyl coated polyester and it holds up a little better in my experience.
The black fabric upholstery dust cover is called Cambric. The tan thin fabric that Cesar sometimes uses is called Muslin. Both can be obtained at any fabric store or Walmart.
@@NGinuity You are right! A very thin and stronger fabric is much better. They come in strips at different sizes (1/2", 2cm, etc. wide, etc.) In next video demonstration I will use the appropriate backing strip.

Con respecto a los grabados al calor, va estar un poco difícil porque se ocupa una prensa de mesa grande para grabar el diseño original. Se imagina para hacerlo origina ocuparía los sellos del diseño, luego la prensa. Nos saldría mas caro que el carro.

Tengo una máquina prácticamente igual a la tuya sólo que es modelo 868 por alguna razón nunca he podido dejar la costura del lado izquierdo (viendola de frente) que cosa derecha siempre cose medio en diagonal y aparte siempre batallo muchísimo para que calibre bien el hilo (uso omega #2 y aguja cal. 180) algún consejo? Saludos!!
Revise el peine que esté correctamente alineado. Haga lo mismo con las agujas que no esten inclinadas mas a un lado que el otro.
Cuando se cose con aguja e hilo gruesos puede suceder que la placa de aguja tenga orificios muy reducidos y por consiguiente éstos no pasen libremente como debe ser para una costura eficiente.

Hola Cesar gracias por tus consejos ya encontré la falla el hilo omega #2 no sirve para coser a maquina la probé con hilo omega doble cero y cose perfecto! Como te digo es una 868 la compre hace 4 años nueva por 14000 dólares y pensar que la estaba usando con el hilo incorrecto, gracias!

Estimado Gustavo, me da mucho gusto tenerlo nuevamente por nuestro canal. Con respecto a su pregunta, le comento que va a estar un poco difícil conseguir el pié de presión con guia en el centro para coser perfectamente las puntadas dobles. Me refiero que ni por internet ni en ninguna tienda.
Tuve la suerte que mi máquina me la vendieron con ese prensatelas que lleva guia. Me comentó el vendedor que un tornero lo fabricó.
Efectivamente, lo que Ud tiene que hacer es recurrir a un tornero de su localidad para que le haga uno. Tómele fotos a la que tengo en los videos para que el tornero se haga una idea. Ademas lleve la pata de presión que supongo tiene su máquina, para que se guíe con esas medidas. En realidad este trabajo tiene que hacerlo con una fresadora. El torno no interviene. Que lo fabrique en hierro dulce. Al final puede darle el templado al aceite para que le quede en acero al carbono.

Creo que lo mejor sería que vayan a un buen tornero para que le agregue la guia en el centro. O bien que la fabrique desde cero. Dos máquinas herramienta se utilizan: el torno y la fresadora.

That is a nice machine and pressor foot center guide. You showed us the stitches are 1cm apart, but what is the length of the stitch? I appears perhaps 2 stitches per cm. Am I close? Just a great look and curious to learn. Thank you again.
Dear Dean, The stitches are 6 mm long. That is the maximum stich length for this old version sewing machine.
