    Great video Ben
    Did you watch the Asus CES event, the G15 got a bigger screen (G16) but has an intel processor for 2023. The option of being able to choose the processor would have been nicer with similar specs in other areas. But I guess AMD could not fabricate enough CPU units for this year's release.
    Would love to hear your take on the events and new releases. If possible.

    16:09 simple, if color accuracy is important, which would most likely mean you are a graphic designer / photo editor, then you can not ignore the Envy screen color accuracy in comparison to Omen.

    • @Tzadeck
      @Tzadeck Před 8 měsíci

      In my personal experience as a photographer, though, I disagree. 74% Adobe RGB is fine for a laptop I think, and I'd go for performance over a *slightly* better color gamut. I'm not sure it would ever lead me to make a different decision in an edit compared to a 99% screen.
      For me the main thing I want out of a laptop as a photographer is one that runs Lightroom as quickly as possible. Granted, I use an external screen when I'm at home, so I always have access to a highly accurate screen when I think it's important for an edit.

    When I look at the hp envy 16 2022 I can’t help feeling isn’t this a much more competitively priced version of the XPS 17 9720? This video is great but a comparison of the hp envy 16 2022 vs the XPS 17 9720 2022 would be really interesting as the envy shares a lot of the same characteristics of the XPS ( build materials and spec) but over £1000 less.

    • @Tzadeck
      @Tzadeck Před 8 měsíci

      I have an XPS and would recommend the Envy. The XPS was great when it was new and fast, but in retrospect I paid too much for it.

  • @mrbabyhugh

    1:56 the Envy is a sleek business machine, more for those on the go to a meeting and presentations in comparison to Omen, so that is why the port options are less. My Envy x360 screen went recently, actually viewing this video via HDMI as I am in market for a new laptop, so want to see what's best option.

  • @TheAngelChristine
    @TheAngelChristine Před rokem +2

    actually correction - the HP envy does not have any upward facing speakers even on the new model with the quad speakers, they're all on the bottom only and the top ones are fake.

    I owned a HP Omen 16 for a while, great built and performance but the trackpad made me return it in less then a week. Most of the time it would be barely usable and after a bit of research online many people seemed to have the same problem. I don't know if they fixed it eventually but I didn't intend to wait and find out considering it had this problem from the moment I turned it on.

    my last laptop was an Omen 17. NEVER EVER AGAIN.
    Cheap components. Screen burn, dead pixels, had to replace a fan, screen hinge broke, x key just stopped working and the battery - failed after 2 years and had to go through the trauma of buying garbage replacements that half of which were dead on arrival and lasted 15 months at most - all because HP don't sell them.

    Hey Ben I am just wondering why the MSI Titan doesnt feature in some of your benchmark lists? I know you have done a video dedicated to it on it’s own, is it the fact that it is just well out of the price range of these other laptops on the the various benchmark lists?

    • @BenGKaiser
      @BenGKaiser  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, it is MUCH more expensive than the median priced laptop, so to put it on the comparison list does not always make sense. :)
