  • Hated by many and admired by others, Malinche was unquestionably instrumental in the fall of the Mexica Aztecs and the military onslaught of the Conquest of Mexico, opening the door to the fall of the rest of the Americas.
Her name has become an insult in Mexico for people who hate their culture while admiring foreigners.
    But what made her Malinche?
What happened during her early life that marked her to become such a staunch ally of the Spanish Conquistadors?
The origin story of famed indigenous translator to the Conquistadors.
Malintzin or also known as Malinali Tenepal of Painala, widely known as Malinche. Later baptized as Marina.
A pivotal historical figure in the history of Mesoamerica.
Malinche's life marks the before and after in Mexican history -- even in the Western Hemisphere and the world.

She learned Mayan, Not nahuatl, she was sold to mayans as slave. Nahuatl was her native language. She knew mayan and nahuatl and when Cortez came in, she translates nahuatl to mayan and a spain guy that was living with the mayans was translating mayan to spanish to cortez until she learned spanish

Juxtapose _La Malinche_ with Colombia's *_La India Catalina_* 🇻🇪...
Spain's Conquistadors absolutely knew how to create tools to execute & manifest their colonial objectives.

A clarification: We do not know exactly what the indigenous name of Malinche was (neither Malintzin nor Malinalli), it is simply not registered anywhere. When she is handed over to Cortés with the other 19 women, she is christened Marina (she could have been christened Rosario, Juana, Isabel or any other name). When Cortés, after she has said that she knows "Nahuatl", introduces her, he says that her name is Marina. As we all know, in Nahuatl there is no Spanish "r" sound, which is why the Mexicas call her "Malina" and Cortés is sometimes called "Malintze" which means "owner of Malina". So Malinche is derived from Marina and not the other way around. I repeat, we do not know what Malinche's indigenous name was.

She was a hero and the first mexican mother. The mexican race is culturally and linguistically spanish with blood of natives.

What was her real name though? Malinalli
(Nahuatl for grass) must have been a name given to her in Xicalango (where she learned Nahuatl) when she was sold to slavery . Slaves (generally people on the lower rungs of society) were often known more by their calendrical names (as opposed to ancestry).
