Look up what area your grandmother's side lived. If they are true Blackfoot, they are from Canada, or in Montana by the border. Otherwise it is just Family Lore! May have an Indigenous ancestor hundreds of years ago, but only about to 1% or 2% if you are lucky.

Tracy, have your DNA done by Ancestry and discover Newfound family members. When you recieve your results, you can message these family members through the internal messaging members. You can look at various family members ethnicity and see who has a higher percentage of Native blood. These family members are more likely to be carriers of language, culture and knowledge. I found proof at the national archives. Search there for your ancestors name.
