My parents bought some jewelry in the mid 80’s in Arizona from the Indians. I still have it. I kept it close this year after my parent’s death. I just thought it would bring peace in my spirit self. Thank you so much.

I'm Blackfoot on my father's side. I was adopted, so I never really had the chance to explore my culture growing up, so I always felt like a part of me was missing. I recently got connected with my biological family and I finally feel complete. I am so excited to learn more about my people, my family and our traditions.

I once met three generations (grandfather, son, grandson) in a bar. As I was walking past the father (little tipsy) grabbed my hand. His son apologized. I laughed & said "if you can't be tipsy in a bar where should you be". I complimented a coin purse that was on their table. The son interpreted for grandfather (holy man/medicine man who wanted to speak to me. 1st & only question was "do you have dreams when sleeping & when awake?" I immediately understood the question. This Holy man explained to me what my family, my priest, Jung could not. I must make my way back to Black Foot/Montana before I transition from this earth.

A century and a half ago, we lakotas, nakotas, dakotas, were at war with these tribes, blackfeet, crow, and others, that is history, we need to be all one tribe, let the conflicts of the past stay there, we must be natives, we all share to much to have old divisions stand between us. I don't know why, but, long ago, we went to crow fair, we were treated with anger, like from conflicts from long ago, at the blackfeet powwow too, yes we fought each other for land and living space, but it shouldn't be what keeps us apart today, I hope this anger is gone now, and my young generations can attend a crow fair, and a blackfeet powwow today.

Yeah that's exactly where the cause of all problems laid down. People still can't get over those things and yet live with that grudge in their hearts for so many generations. The west took that as their advantages and still do. Hope oneday the people unite as one.

"I hope this anger is gone now, and my young generations can attend a crow fair, and a blackfeet powwow today."
As long as Marxists exist on all reservations, agitating social divisions by opening up old and irrelevant wounds, the anger will continue. It is these Marxists who are burning churches on Sioux reservations, and other Indian reservations, per Karl Marx's 1843 directive for the "abolition of religion", and the destruction of those civilizations "whose spiritual aroma is religion"...
“Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right“, Karl Marx (1843)**
“The struggle against religion is, therefore, indirectly the struggle against that world whose spiritual aroma is religion.”
      ...and...
“The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is required for their real happiness. The demand to give up the illusion about its condition is the demand to give up a condition which needs illusions.”
      ...and...
“It is, therefore, the task of history, once the other-world of truth has vanished, to establish the truth of this world.”
Now you know what Marxists are referring to when they utter the phrase, "The Struggle"...
"The struggle against religion is, therefore, indirectly the struggle against that world whose spiritual aroma is religion."

I agree. That's why Native Americans are at the bottom of everything in American society because we still hold onto 1700s tribal warfare. It's ridiculous how we're only 2% of the population, yet the poorest ethnic group. We should be the most powerful and wealthiest due to our small numbers, also to the massive amount of resources America has to offer. What's another issue as well is what's going on in the black community, with a lot of them hijacking our culture. Ever since the black community has brought back that Bering Strait theory, even more white americans are starting to go with it as well by saying oh you guys are immigrants as well, you're really from asia. It's time for us natives to really start closing our inner circles with the masses of the black and white communities. Quit inviting them to our ceremonies, stop having kids with them, native american activists need to stop drawing parallels with between Native and black issues, start teaching our kids that most non native groups don't support nor really care for native struggles, there's a whole list of things we need to get done. But other than that blessings to my native american communities.

I’m 36 & when I almost was hitting 30 I found out about my great grandma being adopted. Now… something wasn’t right about it. I found 3 different birth years for her & the years were around the timing of those “boarding schools” I’m pretty sure that’s were she came from. Slowly finding things out.. they say she was left in a woven basket on a church step as a newborn.. I don’t believe it for a second because they said “church”.. natives didn’t go to church! & I don’t know about you but I highly doubt they would put her on a “white church step” thank you for this video. I started crying watching it. I want to learn more.. I want to visit. Just take it all in.. I would love to talk to the elders.. mannn.. it’s a dream of mine to find my family

My great-grandmother was a Blackfoot Indian. Some of her people came to south Louisiana to hide from the US military that we're trying to keep them on reservations. It's crazy to know that my relatives come from Montana but ended up here in south Louisiana. Other parts of my family were from France. We were called the arcadians. Are people with so strong and fierce that the leaders of France were actually scared of us. They banished us to Nova Scotia. Nova Scotiaians eventually became scared of us also. We would procreate we were strong and hard working. While we were there we became friends with a tribe called the Micmac Indians. Because of that Nova Scotia ended up banishing us from there also. We were put on boats and sent to America. My own personal family were a group of 4 brothers with their own families. They came down to south Louisiana. Everyone here hated us also. We hid and lived in the swamps. My family is saturated with history. From France to Nova Scotia in south Louisiana, and all the way down from Montana. I could write a book.

I'm native. i have recently researched about various other tribes of the subcontinent and i was totally amazed by what i have witnessed so far. I find a traditional and cultural resemblance among other minor tribes of the world such as in Siberia, Switzerland, Mongolia, Myanmar, Thailand, china and the northeast part of India. Though I might have missed out some other part as well but I believe a brief research on our genealogy may perhaps work as a medium of bridge to connect with our roots and our ancestors.

Your grandma wasn’t told her full history. When they brought Africans here, over time they started integrating with natives and having mixed children. None the less if you were able to trace your lineage it would originate in Africa.

I wonder, I met and fell in love with a Blackfoot girl in Great Falls Montana in 1979. Her name was Connie Finley. I lost touch with her as it was a very long distance relationship. Does any one from the Blackfoot Nation know if she is still alive? And if so where she is now?
