He did his best for Max Kellerman, but Max Kellerman doesn't have the personality for shows like First Take, First Things First, Undisputed and etc.
Even Chris Broussard has been more expressive because he has realized that is what it takes to make these "debate shows" successful i.e. chemistry between the presenters and outrageous expressions that doesn't turn the fans off.
Max Kellerman didn't have it.
Max Kellerman was way too careful to not sound like that "racist White guy," but these types of shows low key need the White presenters to be a little racist, or a Black presenter who is willing to be the Oreo cookie.

(Nerd Voice) Well, Actually. They know why. Disney parks and entertainment around the world got hit hard by COVID. An industry that depended on people showing up in person to parks around the world lost all of its customers at once. They had to keep paying them but not earn any profits.
COVID circumstances happened to a lot of industries but it was especially hard for Disney and their model. ESPN had to operate without sports for multiple days per week until sports leagues found work around. A lot of people lost a lot. ESPN / Disney lost big and the deficit forced them to let go of a lot of talent.
