    Something to mention for all... when an engine is cold it doesn't matter any order to remove head bolts. That only matters when engine still hot do to expansion/cooling rate. Have a good ya all!

    There is alot of power to be made with those heads with some work.get your cyl pressure up around 185-200lbs and get a cam that makes peak power at 6,000 rpm.glad it was all in good shape!

    This is a great video, like just about all of them I've seen, but maybe I missed the part where you identified the heads. What heads are you running, did i hear stock LS5 engine?

    Your plugs were too cold for 9.5:1. The ground strap doesn’t tell heat range. How many threads are colored does. You should have2-3 threads colored.
    Overall the plugs show rich and some oil ingestion.
    Have a look at the GM performance valley pan, like the crate engines come with.
    Yes that timing chain has a lot of wear.

    What are your plans for the motor? My 427 is currently being rebuilt for my 69 Vette. I put in a stroker kit at 70 over it will be a 498. Looking forward to the dyno numbers.

      Mine will stay a 4 inch stroke, bored .060 over.

    Are u running the procar seats in your chevelle is did they bolt right up

    always run steel mounts all around or poly all around or rubber, dont mix them

      I ran a rubber mount and a steal mount on my old 402 bbc with no problem.

      @@musclebone7875 got lucky, i run steel all around, so far 28 years later, no cracked trans or broken mounts.

      @@musclebone7875 i have a 496 , long rod , with 840 heads , flat top pistons. makes life fun.Changing the Heads to AFR Magnums , lighten up the front end a bit.

      @@matzrat5006 840 are rectangular ports heads right? I'm running the 088 rectangular port heads with a flat top piston as well. What AFR heads are you looking at?
