I just returned from Jerusalem. On the tour bus coming up into Jerusalem, the tour bus played a version of this song. I think it gave us all goosebumps.
After getting home, I was searching for the song. This is the rendition that popped up.

I really like it when a baritone sings this song. I wish you had the power and the passion and the correct intonation. My father was a baritone and he nailed it. You might have nailed it, but halfway through the song the choir started drowning you out. I would blame the sound guy, but it's
obvious that you have been told how good you sing so much that you don't understand how the artist meant it to be sung. And when you changed the rendition and made it your own, you lost the intended intonation, as well as failing to drown out the choir with passion and powerful lungs. Just missed it. Kinda like when they ask artists to start a ball game by leading the crowd in singing the national anthem and they put their rendition out there; as if? I did however enjoy listening to a baritone. Lovely song! Well done.

@@sarahconner2832 If that was supposed to be polite criticism, you blew it. You sandwiched a whole lot of rude in between a couple backhanded compliments. I'm sure your opinion is biased toward your father's rendition, and that's understandable. But Pierre sang it exactly how it was meant to be sung - with passion. The middle of the song is _supposed_ to be sung quieter. When a 60 voice choir is drowning out the soloist, you don't blame the sound guy. And you don't blame the soloist. If you have to blame someone, you blame the choir director, because he's the one who is supposed to make sure the choir is singing in such a way as to NOT drown out the soloist.
Beautifully Sung, such an uplifting song. I don't know when, but I believe his time to return is near as there is so such evil taking place in World today. We require his forgiveness for our sins.

My father, an excellent tenor, used to sing this song every year at Easter at the small church we attended. Gave me chills to hear him sing it, but we never got a recording, unfortunately.

This was one of the songs my mother used as background music while she drew pictures in chalk at summer vacation Bible camps and evangelistic church meetings. Beautiful! I cry at the thought of what our God and Savior did for unworthy sinners such as I, and rejoice at the thought of the coming of the New Jerusalem, when "the night is o'er"! Hosanna forevermore!
I remember people doing the chalk drawings with music. Some used chalk that only showed up at the end when they turned on a black light, as a child I was so fascinated. Wonderful that your mom had that as a ministry.

There is a tenor that sings it in B flat major. Juan Carlos Rodriguez is the singer that sings as a tenor but in the key of B flat and in Spanish with a high B flat ending.

My dad passed away a few weeks ago and he used to sing this song and I used to play piano for him. During the eulogy, the minister made a reference to what an awesome job my dad did on this song. So I did a search and found this version. Love it!

He’s definitely not a baritone. He’s a tenor who hasn’t developed his upper register. It will come with time.

You just imagine the golden gates opening and revealing a holy city of God. It reminds me of how holy God is, and how Christians will be speechless upon entering this city of Gold. We will not be standing before His holy throne asking Him a list of questions about things here on earth. I think we'll probably be speechless, maybe, for the first 2 million years. Absolutely speechless, unable to grasp the beauty and the Holiness of God, and eternally grateful to our Lord, with the nail pierced hands.

This year Easter Cantata was indeed a great testament to the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has risen as the glorified Son of God Almighty and who seeks the salvation of all our souls, including mine.

This was my dad's favorite, and right before he died I read to him from Revelation about the New Jerusalem, and tried to say the words to this song. He went to Jesus just a couple minutes later. This was back in 1992, and the memory is still sweet.
