Exploring the San Juan Hawkins in a 10 foot boat

Proof that you don't need an expensive yacht to explore the San Juan Islands! Over the course of just a couple days, we put over 100 nautical miles under the keel of our 10 foot skiff, all powered by a 21-year-old Tohatsu. Despite being loaded down with ~80 pounds of camping gear we burned less than 10 gallons of fuel. Forget gallons per hour, I measure my fuel consumption in gallons per day.
