How Alonso made the all star game, and Lindor didn’t, is beyond me

Alonso is having one of his worst seasons too (coming off another pretty poor one). I like him but hopefully the Mets don't resign him, he's not going to age well into his 30s, reminds me a bit of Ryan Howard

Iglesias showed exceptional discipline in that turn against Chapman, he fought that turn until the end.

Man we have a great young catcher in Alvarez. So glad he is back. They are just a different team when he’s in the lineup and behind the plate
He's amazing. If he stays healthy the sky is the limit. I don't see a catcher in MLB with a higher ceiling. He's on his way.
It’s so crazy how Chapman giving away free bases at the most crucial innings. The coach pulled him away after the Mets scored which was already too late. Dude started malfunctioning after hitting two strikes.
Its too hard to be a pirates fan. Why is our management actively trying to lose games.

This team is so desperately in need of pitching. Diaz blew it and then got a second chance. Back to .500 I shake my head at times. We need a huge winning streak.
Yeah we got some pretty decent bats, but our pitching just isn’t good enough. We need an ace. We don’t have terrible pitching, but we don’t have pitching that will take us into the post season. We gotta trade for someone, or hope we got someone in the farm system

If there ever were a time to make a strong push it's now! They have the Nats, Rockies, Marlins and Yankees up the next few series before they face off against the Braves. They can't afford to give away games the next two weeks.

Mets can't expect Lindor and Nimmo do all the clutch hitting on a daily basis, JD, Alonso needs to snap out of it and bring runners in, Bader, Iglesias and Alvarez are doing what they can.
As for pitching, hmmm, that has to be addressed via trade.
Anyway, keep it safe and try for a game over .500 before de AS break.

The defense of Lindor should have him in the allstar game
Lindor 100% deserves to be an all-star. It is absurd that he isn't. He plays a premium defensive position and is terrific at it. And his offense has really come around. Lindor not being on the all-star team is obscene.

He missed a whole season due to injury and has struggled some getting back into it. I'm not at all ready to give up on him. His last healthy season -- he was the best closer I've seen in decades. He was utterly dominant. Can he get back there? We'll see. But I'd rather bet on him than dfa him ... which would be completely idiotic.
