When seemingly inappropriate or inexplicable decisions are taken on the international strategic stage, it is probably because of perspectives that are not discussed or even seen at lower levels. There are answers for everything. There are probably complex computer simulations of hundreds of thousands of international issues that require constant attention and micro-adjustments on a frequent level. While these things affect everyone, everyone is not consulted. Firstly, that would be impossible given the state of education in the world, and secondly because the complexity of the big picture is probably not understood well even at the top. We know that incompetence rises to the top in just about every dynamic; and there is no reason to believe that global chess is immune. It brings to mind the decline of every civilization as the operational power is replaced by an effete class of bureaucrats. Probably the best hope for citizens of the World is the continued landscape of mini wars and frustrations while the general peace is fairly stable. This naturally means that individual leadership groups within nations and wannabe leadership groups are going to be disappointed often. Those with the most clear lens and ability to handle multiple complex international considerations the best are going to have the greatest advantage for their own interests. Unfortunately for some, that will mean almost no advantage at all. Changes in internal national dynamics can have unpredictable results in individual States. Sometimes, it does leave me wondering whether the adults are in charge, and if emotions, which play a preeminent part in most human decisions, do not have the same power at the levels where Mr. Spock should be urging appropriate focus.
Sadly the secular govt. lost it at least as far back as 1973. Sharon's wall helped but the iron wall is no more and the sampson option is only MAD. Maybe it's time to consider other options

Countering Turkey should start by supporting the Kurdish people to get their freedom. There are more than 20 millions Kurds in Turkey who want to separate and have their own country, Kurdistan.
