I love that Russian Spetnaz operative and fluent Russian speaker Ocelot implores Snake to find a Russian Translator even though he has absolutely nothing going on and could feasibly do it.
I remember there being a radio conversation where Ocelot lampshades this by saying that speaking a language and being able to translate it on the fly are different skill sets. But ALSO, with how he's clearly fluent in BOTH languages, to the point that his English is pretty flawless and his Russian ALSO seems the same, it is a bit silly. Maybe it's a dialect thing?

Ocelot was calculating in his plan and his agenda was simply to allow things shape as they were. Having the medic posed as Big Boss was genius, yet devious. His allegiance was for the real Big Boss was out of loyalty since their meeting at Snake Eater me made him a more disciplined man
If you can “create” a Big Boss with hypnotherapy why not create 1000 Big Bosses? What good is a decoy when you tell the decoy he’s not really Snake? Why have a decoy when your going to continue using your real identity?

You won’t be able to mass produce them because it takes so much control over the context of their lives to successfully do so. That said, it also takes resources which Ocelot and Miller got by the boatload due to their continued association with Boss and Cypher. I feel as though you actually work with Cypher a lot to get rid of Skullface.
There’s a theory (that I love) that every player in MGSV is their own Big Boss and the FOB system is a way to root out subpar Big Bosses so only the strongest Big Bosses remain and uphold BB’s reputation, so in a way there are thousands of Big Bosses. You’re Big Boss and I am too

The top thing that stands out to me with Ocelot is his unmoving dedication to Big Boss. He would move the Earth for that man without a second thought. It would be amazing to have someone support you like that. The downside is that Ocelot done a ton of terrible things while showing his loyalty to Big Boss. I wanna cheer for him, but feel dirty while doing it haha.

my only question(s) is when exactly the “coexisting” conversation between kaz and ocelot takes place. i know it’s post credits and kaz’s line of “what was it all for?” makes it sound as if it is post TPP events but it doesn’t explain ocelot’s side of things…if he has hypnotized himself into believing that V is BB, how can he “break” back to reality to explain BB’s plan to kaz? is it at his will? is kaz referring to his capture/torture? did something trigger ocelot back to reality or did i miss something towards the end of TPP? seems (to me) like continuity wise that convo takes place towards the beginning of TPP after kaz’s rescue. sort of how BB’s post credits speech in PW really seems to only make sense if he’s speaking to his outer heaven troops, meaning yea it’s post credits but it’s actually happening like 20 years after PW. just my long winded and probably uninformed take. love the content, keep it up

Haven't finished the video yet - barely even began it, but Revolver Ocelot maintained loyalty to Big Boss from MGS3 up to MGS1 (I'm currently playing through MGS4 rn - my last game in the series to complete, and am uncertain whether he secretly maintains loyalty to the end, but I guess I'll see). Liquid Ocelot is a different story - it's NOT Revolver Ocelot, so I feel that Revolver Ocelot always maintained loyalty and was never intentionally deceptive towards Big Boss.
Wait, is there any good explanation for why Ocelot just let Kaz train David (SS) after brazenly announcing his intentions to destroy BB at the end of Phantom Pain? Is the implication that he was already factoring them into the anti-Patriots scheme THAT early on?

Ocelot's so crafty I didn't understand his motivations either until I really started diving into his character. Once I realized pretty much everything he does is to benefit BB tho it got a lot easier haha
