I bought mine in 1990 for $650.00 it was silver and included a Kerker 4 to 1 which I installed as soon as I got it home. I absolutely loved that bike, it would get down the road.
Very good bike in the day. I've had 2 of them. It always started first time every time. Only problem was carbs. They also always had noisy timing chains but it didn't affect the bikes operation at all.
Thanks. I love the 650 it's such a sorted bike. I'm surprised this video hasn't had much interest. It must be of minority appeal. Suppose the Z1 900 is the show stealer.
I owned one for about three years. I bought it new in Canada. It's factory colour was blue. I've regretted selling it for almost 40 years. The only thing I would have changed about this Custom version was those pig heavy early generation cast wheels.
kevin vincent you are correct. I have the original side panels and tank. Silver with red and blue lines but bought another tank and panels as I wanted it in black but didn’t want to damage the original parts.
Yes this has to be possibly a 77 c series or 78 - but far as I know 77 b1 kz650s has the one disc in front with the caliper mounted in front of forks And a drum on the rear tire- which is exactly what my 77 has - manufactured date says 06/77
dave gosselin 77 C1 I believe. Originally with silver tank, side panels and seat fairing. I have the original bodywork in my garage but bought other panels and had them sprayed metallic black with gold lining.
It looks like a later model with the triple disc brakes, I have two 77's and they have a drum rear brake, and a single disc up front, my 1980 650SR has triple disc brakes.
Does anyone ever kick these bikes over anymore on video? Idk most vids on these older Kawasaki s. They push a button. Ugh. guess I’m old school. I like kick starting my 77 kz650 b1. Other than that nagging me, this is a nice bike pretty clean sounds decent
I would love to have this bike.

Oops! one more upgrade to new drilled brake discs.
Manual Fuel Tap. Three-Phase Alternator. Round Master Cylinder. Non-ribbed outer edge of Wheel Rims. Definitely a '77 C1.The 'z650 ' badges are a puzzle though.

No this was called the Custom model. kz650C. This is a C1, which you could only get in North America, later models, C2 etc came out in Oz and Europe
Nice bike! I have a motorcycle for sale Kawazaki kz650c in very good condition in 1980 down that I can not fix.
