them ALCOAs 22.5s are my favorite style of rim.
I remember those old Neeper wheels. They used to be the coolest thing to put on a dually in the early 2000s. 😎 😎 😎
Neeper.... YUP that's the name... I remember as well!
They were ugly then and still are. Those steel wheels looked better. And what’s with the SS badges on the doors? Super sport dually eh? I remember when SS actually meant something.
Well it ain't no SS 396 Chevelle I will give you that.. They were already on the truck 😁.
@@ChallengeTheBuild
Badge less is good! Or how about some cool looking 3500 badges.I was always a fan of the black ones with the red or blue bowtie 😄 I would have flicked those off in the previous owner’s driveway 🤣
😂😂 So there is a back story on the truck and I can understand why they are on there..🤷♂️
YES!! I remember the JC Whitney catalogs, before the internet... Lol
Yup! Life before the internet 😂😂😂and the dial up 56k modem 🤨😂. Appreciate the watch/comment/likes. I appreciate it💪
The J.C. Whitney reference is an awesome flashback to the good old days of receiving their catalogs in the mail, along with ones from Jegs and Summit Racing !
Exactly! 🤌😎
Great video - I always wondered how the conversion was completed - thank you.
Awesome! Thanks for watching and commenting... I appreciate it.
PRETTY SWEET RIDE THEIR BRO I LOVE IT THE VAN AND THE NEW WHEELS AWESOME TRANSFORMATION WELL DONE
Thanks GeeFunk 💪 It is a pretty bad ass rig, just wish it was mine😂 oh well can't have em all...Thanks for watching... I appreciate the support
I'm not in too chevy ,but this wheels made you're dually look beautiful 😍
These are some of my favorite type of comments 😁👍, just respect for the build! Thanks for checking it out! 👍😎
I had the same Dually indigo blue 6/8 drop Bell tech air bags shocks relocated Boyd custom wheels i had everything 🔥🔥
Sounds like a sweet ride.. Boyd custom wheels were it back in the day!😎💯
It cam eout looking so beautiful I love how it looks specially old school Chevy SS I'm a 38 year old man I'm always loving low trucking trucks n sporty cars
Thank you, I am dropping a build recap video tonight @ 8pm est. I realized that unless you watch the build series you may not have seen the truck completed.. Watch tonight's video if you get a chance.
Timeless Classic OG look
Agreed! 😎
That center cap is awesome
Agreed! 😎👍
Genial hermosa camioneta !!!! saludos desde Iztapalapa CDMX.
Looks good . Kind of makes me want a dually.
🥵 I wouldn't mind having one! 😎
My apologies. Guess I should have waited til the end. Looks amazing
OMG that looks sick!
Perfect
Thank you. I appreciate the watch and comment. 👍
This is a great in depth video. I love it.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for checking it out! 🙌🤙
In depth? Putting wheels on a Chevy truck? If you say so.
I love the new wheels!
Me too!😎👍
🤙🏻🍕 straight up, I subbed right after the intro. Said "I like this guy" HaHa 🤙🏻🍕
😂😂Right on! I appreciate the support 💪.. Thank you, I have been struggling with what to do with my youtube channel lately and I find it funny and encouraging that within the past couple days this video has been getting some attention which has been refreshing. So thanks for watching/liking/commenting it is greatly appreciated . #ChallengeTheBuild
It looks really good.
Thanks 😎👍
Looks nice
Nice truck, I have the same truck, except it's the K3500 SRW 97 model with the 6.5L. wheels look nice.
That's a solid truck also👍, you don't see many SRW's around anymore (atleast I dont see many). Thanks for checking out the video...🤙💯
Man those would look sick on my 84 3x3 dually!
I would agree! Old Square body would look sweet!
If you haven’t looked into or purchased the air bag set up yet look into ikon industries out of Ontario Ca. Good stuff and very knowledgeable. Love the build
Thanks for the info, I will have to look. Appreciate the support/ feedback and comment. 👍
Looks sick dude
Thank you..😎🤙
This makes me miss my 2000 k3500 that had the 6.5 and I had a lift on it was cleanest obs in my area.
😎💯👍 These are some of my favorite body style trucks!
This is awesome 👌
Thanks... It is pretty sweet...
Real clean.
Thanks, I appreciate it! 😎🤙
I just wish I could've gotten those 90's Neeper wheels you pulled off....would love to have them
I will probably regret selling them at some point but they are gone.. 😎🤙
Haha I've never seen anyone else struggle with fishing a jack out the side front like that. That took me back instantly. There was a car I had that I had to jack down like that.
I had a 1/24th model of this exact truck when I was younger. The pure white paint is how I did it also. I love these obs 4 door long bed duallies in white.
I love the square bodies but if I ever need another truck (I have a truck sickness) I'll be doing it up like yours.
Lowered vehicles are cool but sometimes a pain in the butt to work on, 😂. The things we do!
Once you drive a truck ...later buy a car you always go back to a truck dodge truck one has 528,000...dodge truck two 185,000.. antique and yea do use them gravel in bed name it and do have cars old 928...stick..
Real nice
Love it
looks great
Thanks Bill 🤝 I appreciate the watch and comment 👍...
Ooooooooo that looks goooood!!!
Appreciate it, Thank you..👍😎
SWEET. LIKE A BOSS
Thanks for watching 👍
I would have gone with chrome steel spike lugs instead just my preference. Nice upgrade though!
I get it for sure..😎👍👍 Thanks for watching.
Looks awesome. How about some chrome or polished lug nut spikes or the lug nut covers. Would really finish off the wheels
The center caps that were put on really finish of the look, the bowtie emblem really sets the wheel off nice! 😎👍 Appreciate the watch..
@@ChallengeTheBuild beautiful work
I’ve got a black and red crew 7.4 with a 5 speed and this thing is making me want to slam it and put dually wheels on it😍
Nothing wrong with that!😎 Makes for a good look..👍
I could have given it .50" more in by facing the inner wheels and counter bore the back of the Adapters for 5/7 drop.
Dually wheels on it?? Or Semi wheels?
They are milled Alcoa semi wheels .
Looks cool even though low pros on a truck mean a rough ride.
Rides on air...😎 Still a little rough but better than expected 👍👍
I still have the old RIMS on my dually now
Neepers I think is what they are... 20 yrs ago that was top of the line for the obs dually...I remember 😎
Get rid of those factory gears because the new wheel and tire combo are taller which will result in engine lugging...4.56 gears will put the engine back in its power band
So the truck had 3.73 gears and the tires are not that much larger however the truck could benefit from 4.10s to help with acceleration and still maintain a good highway cruise. Keep in mind that the actual stock oem wheel and tire size would have actual been bigger then the wheels I took off and put back on... The OEM wheel and tire would have probably been a 245/75/r16 or something equivalent 🤷♂️🤔
18:20 - noiiice...!!!
😎👍
JC Whitney was the shit. I used to look and read that in school study hall and whenever I got a chance to look up stuff. Wonder what ever happened to em after they quit sending catalogs out in the 90s I think
I loved my JC Whitney catalogs also, kids today have no idea the joy of magazines/catalogs 😂😂
@@ChallengeTheBuild I would still read old catalogs and read the speciality sections for antique vehicles and the hot new items always were interesting which if you remember right were the free gifts you would receive with an order but were cheap af Taiwan shit. But free so wtf. Good chatting with you. Only a few great minds got into JC Whitney. LoL..
Cheers to the good old days!👍😎
Have a 94 1 ton dually that is slammed. Want to do the same thing to it, it has helper bags on the rear.
I will be making a video of the airbag installation after I get all the fabrication wrapped up, hopefully within the next couple weeks... Keep watch...👍👍
Ik them rims are simi rims but are the tires any kind of load rated or they just straight for show an going get groceries or can you still use the dually as a dually an pull a trailer an load the bed with weight
Honestly I can't remember the info on the tires... I didn't buy the wheels or tires so... I feel like they weren't E load range tires but I could be wrong...
who can i find this tyres ?
Put a small lift kit and lug nut covers 💯
Lug covers needed a little modification.. Unfortunately
Ain't adapter kits the bees knees. You can put a 4.3 Chevy easily on a Ford N series tractor too. $900.00 n the engine.
Just needs some lug nut covers 👍🏽
Agreed! Unfortunately I am still waiting for the new ones to be made. Kind of frustrating....
You have to have strong wheels running rubber band tires.
No doubt... The downside of big wheels is rubber band tires. 🤷♂️ The things we do for looking good..😎
I like the 2003+ ss badges on the door. Because a crew cab dully is definitely sporty.
Definitely a sweet rig!
I wanna do this to a 2009 Sierra 3500HD, but as trucker what troubles me, is the torque settings... is it the same torque for the 10-lug as the hub Pilot lugs like on my Peterbilt? 450-500 ft-lbs on the torque wrench for the 10 lug? Are the lug nuts on the adapter the same as a Semi Truck? what torque does the original 8 stud wheel nuts take? and now that you don't got a wheel on the hub when torquing it down... how do you keep it braked so you can torque the 8 stud hub adaptor down? Please let me know. thanks.
I can understand the hesitancy. The lug nuts on the 10lug adapter for the Alcoas were stamped 450-500 ft lbs but because this isn't an 18 wheeler I didn't torque to that spec. I think I torqued everything to 150 ft-lbs +/- I can't remember, I did use a little blue thread locker on the lug nuts that held the actual adapter on and both adapter and alcoas are hub piloted so everything was solid. As far as getting everything torqued I snugged everything with a few ugga duggas and then torqued everything once it was on the ground. It really isn't that big of a deal, pretty straight foward and I'd imagine each company that sells adapters and wheels recommend different things.🤷♂️. After installing and driving a few hundred miles I re-torqued and that was that. The re-torque didn't expose any loose lug nuts either, everything was dead on where it was when I finished the first time... I think because of being a trucker you're thinking BIG TRUCK thinking (not that its wrong) just keep in mind there's a big difference between Semi Truck and 3500hd and whats required with each truck... Regardless we still want to be safe! Hope this helps🤷♂️👍 .
@ChallengeTheBuild yeah that helps. I appreciate you. I think what I'd do is just a retorque after 150 miles. And then just check up and then after 2500 miles retorque again as a Precaution.
Do they make a 10 lug step down to 8 adapter ? Reason is I have some great 8 lug rims but have an F450 so 10 lug
I have often wondered the same thing. I have never seen any nor do I think they make any.
Welcome to 22" world
😎👍💯... I also just dropped a recap build video today if you are interested, czcams.com/video/NtpmW9AHZ08/video.html . Appreciate the watch and comment..
Where did you order your 22s , tires and adapter kit from. I have a 1993 Chevy duelly and looking to buy a set. I have notice the prices on the 22s conversion fit have come down in price since guys going to 24s
Wheels/tires/adapters came from Michael's Truck Works, links are in the video description..👍
I wonder if wheels like that would fit my 55 Chevy 3600 big window that has 8 lug wheels
Possible? The Beeper wheels I took off are 8x6.5...
Какие же они кайфовые. 💪
Can I still keep my full weight capacity and tow capacity on those rubber bands ?
Im not 100% sure honestly? You would just have to make sure to buy the correct rated tire. I believe these tires are E rated tires, now I have to go look...👍
Nice, would this work on a Chevy 3500 small box truck?
Hmmm. I mean the adapters and wheels will bolt uo but the backspacing would be something that you would have to measure and double check.. Personally I don't think the front would be an issue I think the rear would be..Call Mike's Truck works and see if he knows?
Did you fight getting the adapters on? I have what look to be the same adapters but they’re measuring just over 1mm too small. They don’t even try to fit.
Not really no.. I removed the paint on the hub lip (carefully) and then sanded down the hub... Once I put the adapter on the wheel I wasn't about to try and take it off, it was tight but they are hub Centric soo a tight fit was good. Id rather them be tight then loose...🤷♂️. Wish I had better information for you...
@@ChallengeTheBuild thanks for responding. I’m going to have a machine shop mill them to the 116.7mm that GM specs.
No worries 👍, good luck with the install. #ChallengeTheBuild
Have the wheels in the back been face milled or do they just tuck without any help ?
I do not believe they were face milled, I actually did not order them so unfortunately I don't know many of the spicy details. 🤷♂️ sorry..
@@ChallengeTheBuild no worries, just in the beginning stages of looking into tucking a set under my '91. Thanks for the comment, subbed for the remainder of the build ✌️
Appreciate it, Michael's Truck Works seems to have it figured out, I was watching Finnegan's garage they other day and he had Michael's Truck Works mill a set for the #Roadkill ramp truck. I can say if you want to lay fram with the truck you will have to do alot of work within the fender wells front/rear. I will have a video of airbag installation within a couple weeks hopefully, getting parts powder coated now. Keep up with the build on Instagram if you would like..👍
What tire size are you running by chance, trying to do this to mine
265/35 r22 I think... Watch the video, I am pretty sure I mentioned it.
How heavy are those adapters? Seems you would be putting a lot of of excess weight where you do want want it. Not to mention more wear on the axels, king pins and bearings. Doing this this to a new vehicle could void your warranty if you had any issues.
They are heavy! I forgot to weigh them but I'd imagine that they are about 30-40lbs +/- each and yes you are correct on all points. My main concern is specifically on the front end, not so much the rear. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍
Brutality
Its definitely not for everyone... 🤷♂️
Uh oh he's building the compensator
😳...😂😂😂...🤷♂️ Nah....This ain't the one..😎🤙
@@ChallengeTheBuild lol but its a nice truck. I'll check out some of your videos now.
Appreciate it... Thanks
I wonder how much extra stress the spacers put on the truck. Looks good though
I often wonder the same thing.. 🤔🤷♂️😎💯 Thanks for the watch and comment 👍
I run 20mm spacers on a audi wagon. Never had any trouble. They've been on for 5 years.
@@fourringking a car and a truck is totally different. They are used very differently and the weights are much much heavier.
Might as well change the transmission also
Might as well...🤷♂️
Are rear and front adapters the same? Or interchangeable
Negative, the front are different. Not interchangeable.
Looking purdy darn cool 😎, my friend.
How about a name of
"LOW WHITE" or
"IT'S LOW WHITE" ?
Kind of a play on the name of Snow White, if y'all say it quick enough, It's Low White.
Ha! Anyway, y'all can call it "WHITE SKATE", kinda like White Snake, an 80's Big Hair Rock Band! Oh Yeah! OH, one more, "ICE, ICE BABY"
Okay, OK, enough from me, Ha! You'll find something that y'all will like for the name, I'm sure about that.
✌️😎👍 👌😁🤘
😂😂😂 "Low White" said quick enough like you said flows nicely.. I appreciate the comment and the watch...👍👍😎💯
What drop was on it on in this ?
I want to say a 3/5 possibly a 5/7 static drop prior to me building the airbag suspension.
Where can I get wheel cut I live in atlanta ga sir
I am not sure on that... The best bet is to Google machine shops locally or call tire places to see if they can recommend someone, that's where I would start.
Do you still have the neeper wheels?
They are sold.. 👍
Where the chrome lug nuts at, I know it would have cost alot more but it would have been sweeter.
I had an issue with them unfortunately, if you watch till the end I did put them on however they weren't right... I eventually got the problem solved...
@@ChallengeTheBuild your truck is a beast.
The weight is not on that center ring 😂 hub centric ensures it's centered, its not for load purposes
Got it 👍
Are the neeper tinans for sale?
They have already been sold..👍
What’s wheel vendor?
The wheels are milled Alcoa blanks.
램1500껏도 영상 보여주세요~!!
Are those factory fenders
Yes... They are factory rear fenders. I did clearance them just a tad to help clear the wheels.... It's a tight fit...🤏👍😎
Yeah that heat ain't nothing to play with. Keep plenty of pedialite handy.
I was beat by the end of the day...I drink a lot of water but good call on staying hydrated 👍👍
How are they holding up a year later?
Holding up well, unfortunately the truck doesn't get driven all that much...🤷♂️😔
@@ChallengeTheBuild that’s both good to hear and unfortunate at the same time.
Why not do a conversion over adapter?
Overall cost...Never seen anybody do a conversion... That is some serious work right there...
Awesome truck would sell the 16 in wheels
Thanks. And the old ones aren't for sale at this point in time... Probably gonna use them on a different project...
Snow White
Don't really like the super thin rubber...like a wheelchair wheel, kinda.
I myself would like a little taller sidewall too...
How much was that wheels set up
I did not purchase them, but I believe they were around 5 thousand +/- for the set...
@@ChallengeTheBuild thank you my bro keep up the good work💯🤙🏽💯
That's about right the wheels cost more than the truck
Pretty close..😂🤷♂️
Curious as to the load rating on tyres as compared to OEM data plate, can't believe how tidy that old girl is either !
I'm not sure honestly, I didn't buy the kit so I never actually looked. I do not believe they were E rated tires...🤷♂️
Do they make heavy load rated tires in 22” ?
I'm sure that they do🤷♂️? But just like anything else I don't know and would have to spend some time do my own research to see what was available. 👍
I still like the Apache more
They both have a special place to me... The Apache is a completely different style of project and definitely has my heart and soul into it so for that I like it better also...😎
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🔝🔝
Wasn't stripped it was crossed threaded
Tamato / Tamoto 🤷♂️ Regardless of the term, it was trashed😁
Anybody can go with hub centered or metric wheels. It takes an old school mechanic real wheel jockey to roll with buds.. .just kidding, the metrics are easier to work with
Right on! 😂🤣 Appreciate you checking it out! 👍👍
Those are wheels, not "rims"...
Божественно
Thank you, I appreciate that! 👍😎
How not to do it remains a poop🤣
🤣😂🤣🤷♂️👍💯
tires and wheels worth more than the truck
🤷♂️ Possible but I doubt it...
💯 p̶r̶o̶m̶o̶s̶m̶
Want to sell the take off's hit me up!
I'm gonna keep them a while.. Might use them on an upcoming project...👍
So why is my truck smoking wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rods, brake pads and rotors? As a mechanic I would just like to thank all of the wheel manufacturers for making crap that destroys parts in the name of looks. My fat paychecks are awesome 😁
Don't forget to thank the road departments for terrible roads😏. One pot hole and your making money! All in the name of looks!😎 Heck yeah!🤙
@@ChallengeTheBuild
Just another reason not to put big fat wheels with low profile tires on.
Valid point for sure..👍
No need to explain, watch as another person wasted huge cash on changing of rims.
😂😂😂🤦♂️🤷♂️ Can't win them all... Gotta pay to play, regardless of what you do... The money could have been spent in way worse ways... Perspective 👍😎
Why are you upset that someone wanted to put nice wheels on their truck? It wasn't your truck, or your money. But you still watched it long enough to leave your ugly comment.. 😂
@@ChallengeTheBuildcould have been spent in better ways. My dad always told me education isn't cheap and stupid supposed to hurt. I guess you'll figure that out just a little bit later in life
Is this comment pointed towards me? I'm confused because it makes little sense...
Hm
🤔🤷♂️
