Printers are getting better so fast. And so much cheaper quickly too.
Just like all technologies. I remember computers coming out and they were $10k and now you can get them for a few hundred bucks. 3D Printers are at a price where most people can now afford them. Thanks for watching.
The section based exposure calibration tool allows you to test print various quality control prints that you can compare to dial in the perfect exposure time for your resin and printer as it operates in your specific environment.
Also with regards to the build plate size: a lot of bigger models are cut into various body parts nowadays, making it very possible to print a larger figure. I just made a 1/6 scale Jill Valentine on a Mars 3. It took a few runs, but very possible.
My very first printer was an Anycubic Mono SE. Yes, you can print larger figures on them but you need to print multiple times. I have the Anycubic M3 Max and I can do a complete 1/6th scale on one build plate (as long as the figure doesn't have a cape). The print quality and detail of the Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra is amazing so that will be my small figure printing machine. Thanks for watching.
After the initial calibration, I can't see the section based exposure being used again.

Do you by chance have any measurements on just the lid by itself? Trying to see if it’ll fit on a shelf in my craft room and still have room to maneuver it.
This is an outstanding review. Since all my 3D printers have used filament, I am looking for a resin printer.
I'm glad the review was helpful. Thanks for watching
Amazing review. You mentioned you prefer bigger build plates (which Saturns have), but besides that personal need, what would you recomend, the Mars 5 Ultra or the Saturn 3 Ultra (previous gen)?
I have since reviewed the Saturn 4 but I'm a big fan of the Ultra series.
Very good video, well done.
Thanks for watching
I have a few questions. Is there a printer at this price range that is better or comparable to Mars 5 Ultra? Does it actually print much faster than others due to tinlting vat? And what else do I need to get with this printer as a newbie? Do I need to buy a fast rasin bottle, air purifier, washer, and curing light?
There are many printers at this price point but don't have the same features. There are a number of printers that can print in fast mode but the tilting vat helps with less suction forces. I would recommend getting a wash and cure machine and the Elegoo Mercury X is a great bundle at a great price.
Do you have any thoughts on how it compares to the Elegoo Jupiter? I don't feel the need the AI camera really, and I'm not new to 3d printing but that Jupiter's larger print plate is very attractive.
From what I've seen, The Jupiter 4 Ultra is an exact copy of the Mars 5 Ultra... just bigger. As a creator, the AI camera is an awesome addition though the resolution is a bit low. I'll have to check the settings to see if that can be adjusted Thanks for watching.
Boy you really are getting pretty prepared with these 3d printing machines for future projects. How've you been by the way scalemodelgeek?😃
I'm starting print farm. LOL. I have been well and with this review out the way... I can get into building again
@@ScaleModelGeek glad you are I hope it's soon I can't wait to see more builds.
@@ScaleModelGeek hi there scalemodelgeek remember me it's Cole Gensch how's it going are we expecting something soon that you'll viewing for us see? Perhaps another one of your diorama creations? 😁👋🤗
@@colegensch787 Yep, working on my next diorama
@@ScaleModelGeek im working on a diorama to scalemodelgeek I decided after a while of being dormant I was going to finish my titanic wreck from 2023 I'm working on the stern section of the wreck in the condition it's in now since it was observed in 3d image scans in 2023 so I'm making the rate of collapse that has excellerated in last couple years.
Lol no matter which version of chitubox I install, the mars 5 ultra isn't there in available printers
Really, that's strange as it came up straight away for me.
It’s on the 2.2 basic and the 1.5 beta pro versions
