  • Quick video on how to level your statistics to make most powerful physical or magic type damage character in the new release, DD: Dark Arisen Remaster.
    Minmax is not required to destroy monsters in this game, but the character development system is hidden & not intuitive, so I hope this helps some new (or veteran) players of this awesome action RPG.

    There’s a ring in the dlc area that gives you a 50% bonus to your vocation points and stacks up to 100% paired with hard mode you can effectively use that as a way to level your vocations very fast and the rings can be obtained fairly easily as long as you can avoid some undead mages and a gargoyle

    I ordered this game (PS3) and currently preparing the timesink it's going to eventually become. I love this type of game, and after watching a lot of gameplay I decided to finally get it.
    This video was informative and nice for someone who never touched DD before.

    • @djinnxx7050
      @djinnxx7050 Před 5 lety +1

      Only just bought it for PS3? That will raise a few eyebrows.
      It's a great game, i wouldn't worry about builds on your character through a first playthrough, just play it. Your pawns build is far more important, you want a quality support mage first and then once that pawn hits level 50 start a new game on an alternative account and draft your pawn in, and focus your second pawn on combat effectiveness and/or tanking. And that alt account is where you can start playing around with a build for your character as well because you'll have those pawns to cover any weaknesses.
      That's the way i do it anyway. Well did, until my old PS3 died, i couldn't recover my saves so I'm starting from scratch.

    • @djinnxx7050
      @djinnxx7050 Před 5 lety +1

      Oh and as for pawn build, it works the same as main character only without the stat bonuses from the three unique classes.
      So your support mage would be a Mage until level 10, then Sorcerer until 200 (Although technically, the magic stat has little effect on a pure support mage build but you cant go wrong with versatility). Your second pawn, for tank you want Fighter until level 100 and then Warrior til 200 for the mega health boost (just 50 levels is more than adequate though). For a purely dps combat pawn it gets a little more complicated because of individual preferences, like do you want higher stamina for sustained dps or simply greater burst damage. They are harder to get "right", switching between multiple classes.
      But anyway, sorry if you didn't need any of that wall of text. Just thought I'd make life in Gransys a little easier and less overwhelming for you.

    • @kingRichardSteve
      @kingRichardSteve Před 5 lety

      @@djinnxx7050 Don't be sorry, if anything I'm thankful for the help. Any advice, as a newcomer, is welcome. I recently bought the PS3 (pristine condition) as a self Christmas gift since I've always wanted to experiment playing its games.
      I've been sticking with Nintendo since the NES back in those days, and PC, but PlayStation sure attracted me with some titles - and I wanted to start with the last generation rather than the current one.
      Sure am bit late in the console race but I don't mind! Heh, when the game arrives I'll make sure to take some notes and will incorporate these precious replies in them!

    • @djinnxx7050
      @djinnxx7050 Před 5 lety +1

      It's actually a great time to own a PS3, most games are dirt cheap bar a few titles like Nier (£50 pre-owned last time i looked, it was only £30 on release! lol), so you can build quite a solid library for pauper prices. The only issue is server shutdowns on some titles.
      Like i said previously, I'm having to start from scratch again but if you want to share pawns, add me on psn. "Spacedcowboy27". I should have my mage pawn up to a decent standard pretty quickly, once I've finished playing through a few other games.
      Oh and don't forget to make a second account, it's a bit of a hassle but well worth it in the end as It gives you full control of your party. Add a third if you can be arsed and you'll have the perfect party set-up and will be laughing at the toughest enemies in the game (most likely whilst everyone is wearing goldforged Immortal armor). But that's a whole lot of grinding to get each pawn to level 200 and well equipped. Unless you can grind Bitterblack as early as possible, it will take over a hundred hours for each pawn. But as a said, it's well worth it.
      And another tidbit, avoid Guardian and Nexus pawn inclinations like the plague, they make pawns basically stand around doing nothing during a fight. Those pawns deserve to take a swim.

      There are skills from other classes you may want, particularly the augments or passive skills. When you get higher up in levels (like 50s), you can switch to the class you want those skills from when you're far from leveling up, get progress towards those skills, then switch back to the class (sorcerer in this case) whose stat bonuses you want to get right before you level up.

    I know old video, but did I mess up my build? I picked strider and it was only around rank 6 at character level 15(?) I swapped to MA (currently like character level 25) I’m doing like no damage to enemies with my daggers at all really they’re 2 star rusted since I heard rusted weapons can be strong for the slow debuff, I have dagger skills and bow skills and a bow I got from the armory shop in the main city. I was going to venture to the one place people get fire enchanted gear but, don’t know if my character will survive the trek, I’ve been farming the goblins on the Moonlight Cliff with the pilgrim buff but, only have one ring for the increased points.
    Should I swap to sorcerer until level 100, go back to Strider til 50/100 or just keep using MA til I max it then go for maxing the other two, my main pawn is a fighter and I use her for an aggro drawing meat shield. But still haven’t gotten her any good weapons yet and I usually bring a mage pawn for healing and a strider pawn for help with damage.

    • @LeagueofMilk
      @LeagueofMilk  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Sounds pretty solid, but whether you go sorcerer or not, early leveling will leave your atk a little low. I think you could survive the trek to those fire daggers to fix that, however those will partially destroy early game balance and debuff your stamina. If you can’t stand waiting to be strong, go for those. If you can, maybe level as a sorcerer for a bit instead!👍🍻

    Is the stat building really that simple? It's just a matter of which vocation you're currently using when you level up? I figured from what I'd heard from other videos that maxing out a vocation would allow you to receive a portion of the stat bonuses from having it active as well, meaning that maxing them all out ASAP would be the most efficient overall.

    Assassin 11-100 for physical build? I disagree. Yes, that gives you a slightly higher end game attack strength, but I did Warrior 11-100 instead. I got strength upgrades almost as high (5 points to strength per level instead of 6) this way, and I also got 19 points more health per level, so I like my way better. That’s only about a 90 points less strength in the end than it would have been had I gone Assassin 11-100, while my health is over 1700 points higher than a pure Assassin all the way for maximum strength build. Just my opinion though. I mean the stats are numerical, and can’t be disputed, but which way is more effective is controversial. I guess everyone has their own play style, techniques, strategies, and methods for maximizing the effectiveness their own personal play styles.

    I'm seriously humble. I uploaded a Dragon's Dogma quest just for myself to watch in the future. People were watching it right away but there was no feedback. I watch other people's and saw why. I made that video private. However I did learn things. I'm not the kind to brag and get competitive with everyone that says that they play Dragon's Dogma.. but I do want to be that good. I did choose Assassin right away and sorcerer for my pawn just because those are the two I wanted so watching this video was very pleasing. However at level 130-something I still do not feel so dominant. I suppose it's that others knew so much more when they started the game. Recently I found out that my pawn could be rented on PC and now I'm more determined to give them as good of a sorcerer I can. So I'm going through Bitterblack over and over getting dragonforge desperately looking for those rings that I need. Maybe I'll feel more confident later but I fear that I will reach 200 by that point.

      It is pretty confusing for sure. Maybe they are referring to the Augment you get at Rank 9 Fighter for 10% Strength increase. I, personally, have decided to ignore the stat gains for my first playthrough. I am going to only focus on Augments that I want for my class. I am wanting to play Magic Knight, so I am going to unlock Augments for Fighter, Warrior, Sorcerer, and then play Magic Knight the rest of the time.

      @marcusspurlock9443 Před 4 lety +2

      I agree with you on this, as some play styles/skills benefit more from increased stamina/health gains as opposed to maximum strength, magic, or even defense stat growth. I also have found that more of the more powerful weapons/armor tend to buff str/mag than hp/stamina, so one could make the argument that if you were to min/max (not that I personally would), just focus on hp/stamina as your gear and augments will carry you further overall in the long run. For example, depending on how one plays a ranger build, you'd want stamina over max str if you run certain skills (gamble being the easiest example). Another possible example is a defense build that uses HP gains with defense gains as a backup (meaning playing between fighter/warrior instead of just using one) to make a more optimal tank overall (as high defense low HP builds can possibly suffer from lower HP pools to tank with as other games with stats have this trap as well). One could also argue that leveling as strides all the way makes the player/pawn a true Jack of all trades, allowing true versatility, but I digress.

    Not necessarily true to just play Sorcerer all the way to 100 for Magick
    Archer. You'll have the damage, but none of the stamina, which means
    you'll have none of the damage when you're spending half the battle bent
    over after using a couple skills. Ranger gives a much better stat
    allocation with a decent amount of magic and stamina, hell, just good
    all around stats in general. If you still care about that raw damage,
    Strider/Ranger to 50 and Sorcerer from 51-100 will get the job done.

    Not good advice. Assasin and Sorcerer have garbage hp and sp rates. Level as Sorcerer and you dont have enough sp to do Grand charged spells and if Assasin you will struggle with sp and hp as a melee. Level as a Mage to 100 if going Sorcerer / Magic Archer, level as a Fighter if melee. If going Mystic knight or be decent at all classes, then level as a Strider.

    • @LeagueofMilk
      @LeagueofMilk  Před 3 lety

      Ok ty for input
      At higher levels, hp n sp items are not hard to come by. Liquid vim completely bypasses stamina letting you have all the power with no drawbacks, or just bring shrooms. I like the full power style of minmax but balanced builds you suggest are good too

    • @careyraymartell
      @careyraymartell Před 3 lety +1

      @@LeagueofMilk You cannot use SP recovery items while you are charging a spell or skill. Also it's impractical to use Liquid Vim every single time you want to do so, as the items are both heavy and rare drops. Furthermore the damage of some skills like Great Gamble rely on how much stamina was used, so using a Liquid Vim will make the attack do no damage at all. There's more to a build than just whatever the character's highest base atk and matk is, and that is my point here. If you level entirely as Assassin or Sorcerer you will not be able to fully utilize some classes because you will lack the necessary SP to even use their skills properly as Sorcerer and Assassin has low defense, meaning melee classes will suffer greatly. As mentioned before, when wearing a Bitterblack Isle skill ring for Grand class skills for Sorcerer like Grand Maelstrom you won't even have enough Stamina to complete the charged version of the spell if you level entirely as a Sorcerer. The charged version of these spells greatly outdamage whatever base matk you will have leveling as Sorcerer with the uncharged version of the spells, meaning it's not optimal to build a Sorcerer while leveling as a Sorcerer. The only way around this would be to wear 2 Savior rings, which means you can't use Grand spells anyway because you need a ring slot to enable the upgraded versions of the skills. 2 Savior rings also requires beating the game twice and collecting all of the level 3 non-hellfire Bitterblack armors. So the extra points of base attack and magic attack you suggest going for, really are not that useful. Besides this weapon attack and magic attack values coupled with boosted augments make up the majority of most skill damage and base attack is a small part of the calculation. On hard mode, my character leveled from 1 to 200 as a Strider had enough magic attack that once I got the lv2 Bitterblack bow for Magic Archer, coupled with 4 stacks of Magic balancer, could beat pretty much the entire dungeon by himself solo using Ricochet Hunter and adding 4 stacks of demon periapt with Ninefold Bolt (needs the Bitterblack lv2 / 3 ring that upgrades the skill) can solo Awakened Daemon in less than 2 minutes. Can do the same as Ranger with explosive arrows, can also do it with a Warrior build and high end sword, too. You don't need high base matk or attk in this game. What you really need is HP and SP with base stats at least over 350 for the class you want to play, and if melee you need good base def and mdef together which Fighter gives best for but Strider is also acceptable (though less optimal). That's it really. tl:dr the base Vocations of Fighter, Strider and Mage have the best stat growths for their respective Advanced classes and Hybrid classes. Leveling as a Strider is however sufficient to play any class in the game well, but if you want to min-max for a particular Advanced job then you lv as Fighter or Mage to ensure you have enough HP and SP, too, along with other necessary stats like def / mdef in the case of a pure melee class like Warrior. This is especially true for hard mode where enemies hit much harder and while some augments will negate low damage attacks completely, this won't help you when trying to tank as much as you'd think.
