    How about getting up on the roof for a Shootout between this 770s, the Diamond SRH77CA and the Nagoya NA-771? Then we’ll hear which one rules. All of them kill the antennas that come equipped with the radios. Looking forward to it. Thanks- Keith W2LA

    My antenna arrived yesterday and holy crap what a difference. It receives really well on uhf. I am hearing signals so much stronger with this antenna. I get great signal reports with repeaters that are 50 plus miles away: i highly recommend this.

Of course, I would _never_ say that on the air...lol...but I don't care when someone else does it. Keep up the great work, Eric. 73

    I have a foldable flat antenna that can u fold to like 4 feet long that’s “dual band” (2m and 70cm) for the beofang’s and it makes a huge difference! I used it on my radios (Murs since not licensed) and the range difference is amazing.. hand held to handheld while ATVing I would say Range has doubled from stock antennas while folded and unfolding it I wouldn’t say Range increased much more but quality of signal increases for sure just a pin in the back end to hold it up so I tied it to a stick where it fold to hold it.
    Through the dense woods on stock antennas at 1-2 watts MURS we get about 2-3 miles as long as no hill between us and after about a mile the noise floor almost matches the vocal audio. Putting on the foldable antennas on (but folded) each end we easily cross 6 miles apart with a bit of terrain between us (a few minor hills). And noise floor doesn’t match vocal level till about 2.5 - 3 miles. Unfolded the noise floor doesn’t appear to match vocal level until about 4 miles.. testing them on digital mode 1 watt (I checked nothing in our area we would contaminate with digital audio which is annoying on analog) yields similar results... basically range doubling and half as much choppiness and robotic sounds.

    I have a, i think it's a Diamond SRH 536 on my Baofeng UV-5R handheld radio and i must say it perform surprisingly good with that antenna and the radio has a very good sensitivity. I also have a Yaesu FT-50R handheld radio to with a Diamond SRH 771 antenna who are 1-1/2" longer than the SRH 536 and it's actually less sensitive, but with better strong signal property's in the receiver. • @HamRadioConcepts
      @HamRadioConcepts  Před 5 lety +4

      So I guess I need to explain this... Under "normal" conditions, I couldn't make contact at all.... There were two decisions to make.. Do I relocate myself a little closer to a point where I can at least be heard? OR, do I get on the roof, for fun, with the bit of height to make it at least able to make the contact, but in a fringe area so I could possibly see a difference. If I tried this with the next door neighbor, i would have full copy full signal no matter which antenna I used, so I picked a distant station, although the distant station was unreadable on the ground. The difference is I went on the roof instead of driving 2 miles closer.. 73
