- Getting a chance to hunt with just my brother, Jeff. I loved getting to share time in the blind with him. I was able to get a few unfortunately, Jeff didn't get any on this trip.
Another banger hunt i like how you let him miss at the end, its nice to be humbled and learn to take your time on the shot
It has been truly eye opening to film my hunts. You are correct about taking time on shots. You get in such a rush because of the birds flying but have to realize that you have time. The Shotkam and filming hunts is definitely an eye opener
Any general areas of NW Alabama you could recommend me check out as someone whose never been waterfowl hunting? I’m planning on starting next year, and really don’t know of any public spots that are accessible unless you have a boat. Trying to find some public spots closer to the shoals area! Wish I could find a local duck hunting club and just cough up some $ for access to less pressured spots.
There are a few spots you can walk to on seven mile management area, but they are highly pressured. There are also some walk in areas on mallard fox management area and swan creek. Having a boat is helpful but there are also some places you can access with a kayak.
What part of Alabama? If you don't mind sharing. I probably won't be hunting this year but want to get geared up for next.
