Lovely map. Maybe time for a rethink on the scoring system though. Having to justify a scoring system suggest a not very good scoring system. I get the objectivity, but I think it could help to break it down more. Into, say, separate scores for customisability. For how user friendly the map is (can you sell everything? grow everything? get around easily?). And how just generally well made a map is (are the models nice? Does it feel natural? does is run well? etc). That way you avoid having to justify or talk about the rating all the time, and people can get more info about the map easier (minimal change to the thumbnail too). I can imagine people who have no idea about this map seeing this and thinking "meh, must be crap, no point".

I suggested you elaborate in my response to you in my comments, I am glad I went back to the video to see you did. I am still not sure I see where your hangup is. He is already doing the things you are suggesting, just maybe not in the same format you envision. So instead of five stars he creates five categories then gives five stars in each category. Do you think that would make any difference than what he is currently doing? Also, some of the criteria you mention do involve personal opinion. Maybe to him this map does not feel natural at all whereas you think it is perfect. If you listen close to the videos and read between the lines he usually does indicate his personal opinion of the map, but it does not interfere with the rating system...for the most part, though I do feel he has given some maps some leniency due to favoritism. But hey...we are all human.
you might be mixing what you visually see vs what you can actually do with regards to this map; try running it multiplayer and see how many issues you get. The road network is abysmal, spend most of your time trying to maneuver with even the smallest tractors, gates/poles everywhere/some where they need not be - fell for the trap thinking there were 5 solid farms for each group to manage. If one farm is harvesting or performing another action that takes a few tools such as bailing and selling, they effectively shut down the map because road access to points will only allow traffic one-way in most areas.
Great map for screen shots; didn't last 2 days with an experienced group of FS22 players - all we're in agreement with the score given if you focus from a FS22 game engine perspective. Doesn't mean it's not a nice map
@@harrytasker4754 welcome to rural Irish farming, this is how it is and to create Motorways in the countryside just so you can get your Bigbuds down through it would make it totally unrealistic

5 star map. Nailed the area on the head. An nice to see a milking parlour an not just robots
As far as being like the area it’s based on its exact and has the feel of the harsh Northern Coastal area
so that area is still in Medieval times? Not sure if there's oxen livestock mod to plow fields with yet. The land of 3m implements and 5m trailers - don't starve.

Beautiful looking Map, I believe this is Fast Farming 1st Map? I wish the Crop Calendar would let us plant Wheat and Barley etc… In Spring! I don’t like the Base Game Crop Calendar! I like Feel of the Map! Minor updates needed but a great Job for a 1st Map!

Answer to the direct question about baked in stuff: Honestly, much of the review criteria is a non-issue for me, though I do understand why you set them and I appreciate knowing upfront what the map offers. But no, baked in stuff is not an issue for me as I can just remove anything I wish through the xml or GE. In this case though it would sort of defeat what the map maker intended so I think I would play this one at face value.
I wish Giants would provide a single sell point for all base game products. Johnsons comes close, it would be nice if they expanded it for everything. Then there would be no excuse to have products you can't sell. I uses the Schultz Modding point on every single save, it is on my must have mod list.
Fairly sure the train sell point takes everything at least production and grain wise for the base maps. I might be wrong on that.
The concrete slab prefabs are weird (I am imagining the whole building/farm/slab is one construct?). I can understand the reasoning behind them but it sure makes things awkward for the player. Props for breaking out of the mold though, I do get it.
10:02 Karma silo won’t let you interact with it so it won’t fill it, just interacts with the door instead.
Same that with ballyspring, the environment is lovely but the textures are crap

@@seanobrien7169 his scoring has nothing to do with farming and this is is a farming simulator.
@@davidvanmol5199 This is a game. The game has maps. People with all kinds of systems and tastes play these maps. His scoring system is intended to show people what they can expect from any given map. It is not a subjective scoring system, it is merely a checklist of features that he has deemed important for a map to have. You don't have to agree with the importance of these features, I don't. We both use GE, we don't particularly care if a farm is sellable. But some people do, especially console players. He is just trying to show what a map offers out of the box according to a set of standards.
@@seanobrien7169 But this scoring system absolutely does not do that, especially at a glance. And if you have to spend half the video explaining the scoring system, then the scoring system needs to be changed. Probably by having separate rating systems for different elements that can be ranked.
