We had booked AF Premium Economy for a trip this past spring on a similar deal that you had, but from Detroit. When we booked, it was originally the A350s, but a few months out they switched the DTW-CDG flights to the 772s (and of course it's back to the A350). Sucked that it was downgraded, but still better than AF's long haul economy seats on their older planes. So even if you aim for an A350, it could always get swapped out.
Better 'reclining' system IMO. Too many premium economy seats are reclining a rediculous amount and properly encroaching on the person behind, especially if they choose not to recline themselves.
Agree..I personally prefer the shell type seats. It is terrible annoying to have the front row recline to practically inches from your face. You have no choice but to recline as well and this sets off a domino effect. Having the seats recline so much causes more problems than it solves.
The meal looks better than in Business. Breakfast looks great. I like blueberry muffins. We used assistance to connect at CDG as we are elderly; thank goodness. It's very frustrating connecting in Paris. So is Amsterdam, Frankfurt and London.
I think the only one advantage to premium economy in the future is to avoid the 3-3-3 layout if travelling alone or with companion in planes like 787/ a350.
Awesome review as always and this was fun to watch as I flew from JFK to CDG in December in the exact same seat (like literally the same seat as you as I was in 12A on the 777 and I booked using the exact same promo award, though mine was to XZN aka Avignon TGV, since you can book TGV high speed train connections from CDG to certain stations with IATA codes with Flying Blue). I'd certainly have to agree with your conclusion on the product though.
Another victory for the RIGHT side of history! I filmed and edited this last year (before HD2), but could think of no better music for transferring at CDG. I’ve got a 1:30 this December and I’ll have this playing in my head!
I’ve been on premium economy Miami to Buenos Aires & Santiago to Miami American Airlines trip seven. While far better than standard economy, not really something you can get comfortable in and sleep.
Maybe your thoughts were to high for a Premium Economy, bcz in Premium Economy you have to get in mind that’s it’s an economy class, separate section don’t put you above then standard eco passengers. Lufthansa has it’s premium eco class in the economy with just a glass separating sections ….
Had a similar experience on Jal premium economy last month from Tokyo to Boston better plated economy food shell seating glad I use miles cuz the money upgrade would not have been worth it
Yep, and even the one with the new layout! Have that booked in business in December! Still, there’s tons of AF flights with these seats and the refits will take a while…
IDK, af is the shame of the country, lost my luggage and half of the passengers. I am waiting for more than 3 days given that I paid for business. So, what is the point of paying any extra money if such basic services as luggage delivery is not provided by so called airlines
Indeed, AF is notorious with checked luggage. They had a meltdown post Covid that I discussed in my last AF video where I play clips of Megan Kelly (love her or hate her) talking about how they lost all 5 of her bags for literally a month. It was only her celebrity that got a response. Godspeed, and hope you put in AirTags!

Love it, can't wait to fly premium economy on AF!!!

Yep i think we booked at the same time. The train/plane combos are a really cool addition and I’ll touch on it next week!
6:54 Extraction Theme from Helldivers 2 hahahaha, nice touch ! Great video as always

Total agree these seats suck. Very uncomfortable.
Good thing the A350 is on this route now

If you get premium economy on points, can you upgrade for cash??
Depends. I observed in my business class review on the a350 that they were selling upgrades from economy for 350EUR. May have changed since then.
@@Travelog I'll go find that video. Randomly found your channel while researching. Thanks for taking the time to answer
I had a flight a month ago that I bought in economy using points and was offered a business class upgrade for $480. Totally worth it.
AF premeconomy is the best, especially if you and your companion snag one of the side 2 seaters.
That looks dreadful
ok thanks for the review Karen
You’re very welcome Darren!
