- Tabasco Factory Tour | Avery Island Louisiana | Side Trip Sunday
On this Sunday Side Trip, we join our friends Howard and Betty for a tour of the world famous Tabasco Factory on Avery Island in South Louisiana. The Tabasco Pepper Sauce Factory Tour has been on our bucket list for a very long time. We've heard great things about it over the years, and it did NOT disappoint! We absolutely LOVED our experience at the Tabasco Factory Tour, Tabasco Museum, Tabasco Country Store and the Tabasco Restaurant: 1868!
In this video, we'll share some of the highlights of our visit to help you plan for your own trip to Tabasco and Avery Island. Make sure to plan enough time to see and do it all. There is a lot to see and do here!
If Howard and Betty look familiar to you, you may have seen them in some of our other videos including:
Wingin' It with Friends | Set Up for Boondocking (meet Betty & Howard and hear about their RV): • Set Up For RV Boondock...
Branson Missouri (we moochdocked at Howard & Betty's place before heading to Branson): • Visit Branson, Missour...

We took this side trip to the Avery Island Tabasco Factory during our time at the Cajun RV Rally in New Iberia, Louisiana. While the tour wasn't officially part of the rally, it was a recommended side trip and was located nearby. We'll have a video on our experience at the Cajun RV Rally soon. In the meantime, check out this week's podcast episode with rally organizers Don & Sandie Grutzmacher:

🤠 Thanks For Watching!
We are Tom and Stacie Langland, known for 10 years as RV Texas Y'all.
We are Native Texans and Full-Time RVers who are all about exploring the Great State of Texas and America one campground at a time. We're on a mission to experience life, not just live it and we're bringing you along for the fun.
In 2018, we sold our house, our business and gave away just about everything we own to hit the road and see America. Our home is a 33' motorhome named Freedom. We installed an extreme solar and lithium battery setup so now we can camp just about anywhere with our dog (Star) and our cat (Astro).
Every day is a new adventure, so join us as we RV America Y'all.
Safe Travels and Happy Camping!

If you'd like to see more about Howard and Betty and their RV, check out our Wingin' It episode with them from a couple of years ago... czcams.com/video/agKnM6mT7vE/video.html .
we had a great time there earler this year was a very cool area loved the property as well did not see any bears but had fun spotting the gators all our best
Hello, thanks for your video, how can i get there from New Orleans?
I am so BLESSED to have had visited Avery Island. I am so GRATEFUL to the family and company who opened their doors to the public so it can experience and enjoy a place so unique. Immensely happy to feel like I'm in Jurassic the Movie. There was a part that I can see the flying insects were extra larger and healthier than usual. God bless you for your generosity!
You’re welcome ☺️
Wow! Sue & I are so bummed we didn't know about this Tabasco Factory Tour. What an interesting campus! This needs to be a MUST STOP tour folks need to plan into their trip when going to New Orleans. The narration you guys added was the best!
Thanks y’all, it really was a hot tour! 😂
I been around the world and every country that I was in had Tabasco! I love it so much I got a Diamond Tabasco lable tattooed on my back! Thanks for the fun tour!
Thank you so much for the upload! One thing I'd like to add is the peppers are grown in Mexico in the state of Tobasco (the greatest state outside the United States imo). They send the peppers to Avery Island, and seeds are selected then sent back to Mexico for the next harvest. I think it's worth mentioning because it's a contract that began well over 100 years ago and is still going strong today.
Awesome thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing this! It’s a bucket list place I want to visit along with my wife. She loves Tabasco even more than me! 🤗🙏

There is actually a buddhist shrine/temple there because one of the ancestors was a buddhist. It's super interesting.

Thank You for the tour and going to the restaurant. Delicious looking.
Well worth a visit! 😊
I grew up less than 10 minutes from there and the tour/museum is so different. I can’t wait to go back one day. I was actually there for the tour the day before I went into labor with my oldest daughter, nearly 17 years ago.
😮

Hi Tom & Stacie! Another great video and this one from our home state! Susan and I really enjoyed meeting both of you at the Cajun RV Rally. We went mainly to me you guys since we have been subscribers for years! Hope you have continued safe travels out there and hope to maybe run into y’all again sometime! You guys are just as nice in person as you are in your videos!
Thanks Jesse, we really enjoyed meeting y’all as well & hope your grandson is having a great year pitching in college! See ya on the road! 😊
I live in Broussard which is just south of Lafayette and very close to both Tabasco and Isle of Iberia. Glad you had such a good time during your visit including the Boudin Fest in Scott too. Safe travels y'all. Keep the great videos coming...thanks!!!!
Will do, thanks Rob!
Glade y’all got to enjoy my Cajun area!
😊
Just had my meal with tobasco as I watch this.
That’s awesome 👏🏻
Next time you guys are in the New Iberia area you should check out Jefferson Island Gardens and Lake Peingeur.
Will do, thanks
How does it smell like on that barrel warehouse? I bet is great.
It smelt yummy 😋
It is interesting to think the entire Hot Sauce craze originated with Tabasco Sauce based on an original family recipe from the McIlhenny family and is still a family enterprise.
That is totally fascinating to us as well!
Why don't you show where you camp. Pulling into the site, set up etc... and what's around your site. Just saying...
Good idea, maybe one day in the future! 😊
