    I so miss my HIGHWAY COWBOY!!! I lost my husband on October 3, 2014. He drove for over 30 years and logged millions of miles with no accidents. He was my night & shining armour! Life will never be the same again. I get so choked up when I see a rig, and especially hearing the air brakes. Our 3 children would jump & run to go meet Daddy when they heard those air brakes coming down our country road and they would wait as he backed that rig in next to the old farmhouse he was raised in and we raised our children in. Crying now gotta go, keep rollin & as my husband would say "Keep the shiny side up"
    😢

      You can still play the old school way. But elogs will change that. Hey at least my old trucks are now worth more $$$! Anyone noticed the renewed popularity in gliders? If you have to ask what that is, you ain't been playing this game long enough. Blue def, elogs? No we won't be doing that! Siri, Alexa or some little black box isn't going tell me, when it's time for nappy time. It was always impossible to do! But we just did it anyway. Most of the REAL drivers are dead or close to it. But it is about safety! Look at what we have out there now! Swift would be a good example..

      it hasnt changed much in my 29years of the local dump trucking scene- we look out 4 each other everyday, and try to out think john E law with our CB chatter , elds sounds like a disease to me, daily trip checks- nope! i kick a tire every few weeks, my boys let me know if i have a light out- as we run around our slow paced rat race! now watch my channel and see how i roll! click my icon pic! just custom built my new rig! 29 years 200miles a day ,32 gallon a day, average 26mph every day on the clock, different job daily to keep it interesting - never by the load or paid by how much i do just sayin! freakin love it! join the old skool outlaw truckin scene and make $ no BS! now watch my S%&^! 1000 clips up on my channel real truckin stuff! OVER!

    I send my thanks to each of you for the hours, days, weeks and months spent alone on the big road. Truckers life is no glamorous life. It takes special men and women to do the job, it is not a job for a (insert word here) and there is a hell of a lot more to it than sitting in a seat driving.

      I’ve been driving for 5 years and realized that it is a dying breed. We need more old school trucking and less new day eld. My father drove for many years. It is a lifestyle change. But it’s one I don’t want to give up. I tell those who know me, it’s one mile at a time and it’s how we live. One mile at a time. Drive safe everyone and hopefully one day we can return trucking to what it was. That’s what I remember and that’s what I try to do.

    We gotta fight the E-Logs and protest against them big corporations. How wish all the truckers will come in one and stop hauling for a day or two, to prove that without us America can’t go on.

    • @davidalexander828
      @davidalexander828 Před 6 lety +5

      the best way to fight the elogs is go strictly by the book everyone has too. The only two ways to get Washington to listen is join to join OOIDA and log it 1005 the way the dot rules say do it. That means when you are at the shipper and receivers waiting to get loaded and unloaded log it like its suppose to be On duty not driving. I know that will take money out of most truckers pocket it did mine at first. by doing that within a week or two when the economy starts slowing down and the big companies start complaining to congress. Congress will start calling OOIDA and wondering what the hell is going on demanding answers. OOIDA will tell them "Hey look they are all obeying the regulations YOU all put in play Its up to you to change it and here are some suggestions" . Plus right we have a man in the White House that will listen to the working men and women especially those that are in trucking. Im an old trucker with 1.8 million logged solo miles under my belt. I wish I was still out there drivin myself and ty for keeping America moving

    Man, most drivers all claim they run legal, but well, I left salt lake, running to portland in the winter... Cattle hauler in front me comes on the radio and says Stay outta the hammer lane ..... I jumped on the radio said I'm with you... he laughed and told me i couldnt keep up... well from just outside of salt lake in the winter with snow falling, two triple digit trucks let it all hang out..... all you could here on the radio, was two big trucks moving fast stay outta the hammer lane..
    now I dont know nothing about yall, but where i grew up my heros where junior johnson, and popcorn sutton.. we let those trucks scream in nearly blinding snow.... made it to boise, the truck stop just before the scale... pulled in to fuel up... when i got out of that rig.. a big hand hit my shoulder and a Man said.. didnt think there was anyway in hell you could keep up.... where you headed.. I told him portland.. he shook his head, said the ranch is 20 miles up ..... if you ever wanna job come find me..

More people need to. I plan on being a trucker in the future. Ever since i was a little toddler, i have loved them. I had a grandfather that used to drive an old peterbilt (i think it was a 379 or 359). I used to climb all over the tires and play in the bunk. Instead of barbies, i had a bunch of monster truck and car toys. So while my friends fangirl over some stupid rich celebrities, i’m going to fangirl over some actually sexy peterbilts and kenworths.

They allow the cross border trucking agreements to allow Mexican drivers to haul what would be three and four dollar a mile freight for pennies on the dollar and then then stick American truckers with the tax bill. Sad part is we sat back and let it happen .
