I love how Moff Gideon is only in a small number of episodes. But every time he is on screen, you feel like he holds all the cards, he knows everything and it’s only a matter of time before he wins. Easily one of the best Star Wars villains in the whole saga
Moff Gideon is the perfect foil to Grand Admiral Thrawn: he appears to be a brutal political mastermind (compared to Thrawn being the supreme military strategist of the entire franchise).
And considering how Thrawn’s main recurring weakness is political intrigue, I’m very worried about the possibility that Thrawn will end up being manipulated by Gideon.
(With Thrawn shielding Gideon for the purpose of gaining yet another powerful ally for the war against the Grysk, while Gideon takes advantage of Thrawn’s protection to uplift the First Order, an organization which might one day replace the Grysk and backstab the Chiss Ascendancy)
@@topnotchshinobi he looks completely different from all his other roles opposed to Star Wars he feels different too, they did a good job. He fits really well and feels unique.
@@topnotchshinobi I have to disagree without a doubt gidion is smart and a badass villain but I have a feeling he’s working for thrawn possibly being even used
@@almighty5839 Thrawn being the unquestioned dominant partner in his collaboration with Gideon is certainly a valid idea, but the prominence of the First Order in the sequels (and the scary absence of the Chiss Ascendancy in the sequels) makes me suspect otherwise.
As I've said earlier, I'm very scared of the prospect of Thrawn once again falling prey to Imperial infighting/politicking (just as he did various times in his canon novels and during Rebels).
The way he instructed those officers to kamikaze the ship gave me serious chills, plus the fact that that one officer killed himself to prevent any answers from getting out. How sad is it that the Imperial Remnant looks more like a hardcore group of extremist remnants formed from a military dictatorship than the First Order

It fits him. Dark, mysterious, intimidating, commanding respect and taking no bullshit.
Really excited to see how his character develops this season.
He's more intimidating than the Death Star and the whole first order.
Gaudy and showy as well. He'll tell you exactly what kind of cannon is being erected outside your stronghold, then kill you with it.

They didn’t build on his character at all until he just randomly showed up, he didn’t have the intimidating aura around him that it seemed the directors were going for. The only significant pieces of information we have on him is that he’s a Moff and that he somehow has the Darksaber.

@@goodmind4940 Well yes, that's my point. Though it's hardly unique to him. Superhero and Anime franchises have been overrun with runaway power creep for decades. Writers get it in their head that since a city was in danger in the last story, this time the world needs to be in danger, and the next time the galaxy, then the universe, then the multiverse.... It just gets stupid. Many writers fail to understand the fact that no matter how big you make the stakes, it's still just going to be actual established characters and what happens to them that people care about.
Proves that having the power to destroy planets doesnt matter when you can pin down with ease an assassin droid who's been reinforced with beskar a mandalorian a person with basically a minigun a force sensitive and a gun slinget

The one of many things I like and find terrifying about Gideon, how calm he is when he is sinister. The calm/charismatic villians are the best. Because their level of control shows they have done or are capable of doing anything.
Gideon might be the coolest recent Star Wars villain. I've got a theory that he's a renegade Mandalorian (which is why he knows so much about them), and there could be a neat contrast between Boba, a fake Mandalorian, Din Djarin (a Mandalorian by creed but not by birth) and Gideon (a Mandalorian by birth but not by creed).
But that's just a theory.

Your astute panic suggests that you understand your situation. I would prefer to avoid any further violence, and encourage a moment of consideration. Members of my escort have completed assembly of an E-Web heavy repeating blaster. If you are unfamiliar with this weapon, I am sure that Republican Shock Trooper Carasynthia Dune of Alderaan will advise you that she has witnessed many of her ranks vaporize mid-descent facing the predecessor of this particular model. Or perhaps the decommissioned Mandalorian hunter, Din Djarin, has heard the songs of the Siege of Mandalore, when gunships outfitted with similar ordnance laid waste to fields of Mandalorian recruits in The Night of a Thousand Tears. I advise disgraced Magistrate Greef Karga to search the wisdom of his years and urge you to lay down your arms and come outside. The structure you are trapped in will be razed in short order and your storied lives will come to an unceremonious end.

It's good to hear a good star wars theme that was made in modern times
I found the music in _Rogue One_ and _Solo_ to be amazing, though in the case of the latter, I blame this channel, and the former is because of my bias towards Michael Giacchino.

well hes a fan of Connection terminated. I’m sorry to interrupt you Elizabeth, if you even remember that name. But I’m afraid you’ve been misinformed. You are not here to receive a gift, nor have you been called here by the individual you assume, although you have indeed been called. You have all been called here, into a labyrinth of sounds and smells, misdirection and misfortune. A labyrinth with no exit. A maze with no prize. You don’t even realise you are trapped. Your lust for blood has driven you in endless circles, chasing the cries of children in some unseen chamber, always seeming so near. Yet somehow out of reach. But you will never find them. None of you will. This is where the story ends. And to you, my brave volunteer, who somehow found this job listing, not intended for you. Although there was a way out planned for you, but I have a feeling that’s not what you want. I have a feeling you are right where you want to be. I am nearby. This place will not be remembered, and the memory of everything can finally begin to fade away, as the agony of every tragedy should. And to you monsters trapped in the corridors, be still, and give up your spirits. They don’t belong to you. For most of you, I believe there is peace or perhaps war, waiting for you after the smoke clears. Although for one of you, the darkest pit of hell is waiting to swallow you whole. So don’t keep the devil waiting, friend. My daughter, if you can hear me, I knew you would return aswell. It’s in your nature to protect the innocent. I’m sure that on that day, the day you were shut out, and left to die, no one was there to lift you up into their arm, the way you lifted them into yours. And then, what became of you? I should’ve known you wouldn’t be content to disappear. Not my daughter. I couldn’t save you then, so let me save you now. It’s time to rest, for you, and for those you’ve carried into your arms, this ends. For all of us. End of communication.
