- El Califa de León is a Mexico City taqueria that's been serving delicious tacos since 1968. The famous French Michelin Guide has awarded the taco stand one of their coveted stars, making it the first taqueria ever to receive one. Their menu is simple: four types of tacos and two house-made salsas, always crafted with the freshest ingredients. At only 10-feet wide, most people stand to eat the delicacies offered at El Califa de León.
I'm glad that taco stand is in Mexico. I thought it was going to be one of these sidewalk. Taco stands in Southern California.
Yes 💯 I never agree with comments. 😂 you’re a real one.😊
Does it matter where the restaurant is located? If it’s great food, it’s great food.
Those sidewalk taco stands beat Del Taco and Taco Bell any day 😂
@@TarumpSadiki I mean both have their moods. Can’t really compare junk food to authentic food anyways.
@@OzoneGamerStation yeah one is actual meat and the other is dog food
Had my first mexican food for the first time today, as a Chinese person we have never tried mexican food before but when i first tasted it the spices were totally different from the ones we have in China
Edit: I meant to say the chili's just taste totally different to the ones we have in China generally our ones tend to be specier but Mexican ones have some kind of different flavour that I bet most Chinese have never tasted before
Also in terms of spices India and China tends to share a bit of similar spices just a bit while Mexico has it totally different from what we have
That's because you only use curry
That's weird. Mexicans use chili oil which no other country use except for China and maybe other Asian countries.i thought you guys would have a lot in common

ROAD TRIP! Who wants to go to Mexico for tacos? Let's go!
Well, I actually live in Mexico City. Was pretty exited when I heard about the news, might go tomorrow
@@matbrownie2797please tell how it tastes!
No way. Always said don't go to Mexico
Do they ship? I will pay their airfare. Lol
@@Hollergirlohio Well, today’s time and age might even be able to buy the whole Mexican behind the kitchen
I am european, BUT I absolutly adore mexican food. I would defintely try this taqueria if it would be even remotely close to my location!
Why did you people enslave the Americas?
Congratulations, quality tops everything!
Viva Mexico!
To be honest, if a tiny little hawker stand in Singapore selling cheap chicken and noodles coild get one, i don't see why this taqueria can't either. Congrats to them.
European exceptionalism, discrimination on Native Americans and Mexico's substandard GDP.
And just like that, the price of everything went up by 250 pesos
lolz
So proud you should be
I want it now!!!!

@@I_Will_Just_Be_Honest so you did ask?
@@skypotatogamer3787 I think he did
@@I_Will_Just_Be_Honest "did not not ask" please correct your grammar
Impressive. They must really be worth it because michelin reviewers barely visit those kind of restaurants. Must be very delicious.
I want tacos 🌮
Congratulations! Very cool
This reminds me of one of my favourite jokes: What do Jesus and a Michelin Star chef have in common?
They can both feed 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish! 🥖🥖🥖🥖🥖🐟 🐟
Dafup is that weird quote
@@jonathanng138’Dafup’? 🤔
I dont get it
Salty joke.
It's feeding a large crowd of people with a small amount of food.
More stories like this please.
I don’t go to fancy restaurants because the give the food so so so so little but it is good though
Use grammar little girl
@@Diogo_Castaneda I understood the sentence. Looks like you need more real world practice with reading English sentences
The 'secret' is the salty sweat dripping off the side of his face into the food to make the flavor 😂. Nah congrats 👏🏽
@adams.6911 There is a Mexican comedy show called “Nosotros Los Guapos”. In one episode, one of the main characters is kneading dough. Sweat drips into it. That batch sells really well and the owner of the bakery requests the guy baking it “to keep doing whatever he’s doing.” It’s pretty much the same scenario you suggested! 😆
People give a tire company way too much power of foods.
Better than yelp or bloggers. Michelin star way they run it, is fantastic.
Didn’t ask
As opposed to some random food vloggers?
So what some euro company going to validate a Mexican company tell them to keep them star in Europe
Congratulations! Shame I’ll probably never get to experience it unless they take their truck on a road trip to Michigan! Lol
There literally in every major city. ..and iv yet to find a bad truck so I can only imagine how they test in Mexico 😮
Awesome ill have to check this place and a perfect excuse to visit CDMX
One great thing about Mexico is that there isn’t any dorks requiring licenses or permits
Exactly. It's all about common sense. If your place is awful, people stay away. It's that simple.
Puro Mexico! Viva Mexico!
That's real nice ☺️
The pink taco truck in Wendover Nevada is 5 stars too.
Looks good, will have to check it out….
Check the opinions of the place before going on Google Maps, especially those from before winning the Michelin star, do not be carried away by advertising, in Mexico there is better gastronomy than the one that won this award
Perfect person for it ❤️
That must be some fkn special ass beef and unicorn lime variety... they look like something my daughter made in home economics class in highschool and got a C- for.
Yesss! I’ll be in Mexico City in august
Going there in September from the Phils.
Finna drive down south lol where this at?

I love tacos 🌮😋
This reminds me of that time when a food stand in Singapore won its Michelin Star, and it’s still the cheapest Michelin Star food today.
Nah, they lost their star already.

Says there is no secret, then right away says that the secret is in the quality in the taco....
The secret is dripping sweat into the food 😅
About time taco trucks get some love from some random person who claims to know everything 😅😅.
Justice will prevail and my parents country will be a superpower in the future 🇲🇽💪🏾. Viva Mexico Cabroness🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
$5 a taco??!!! Ummm, that’s $1.50!
no problem guys I gave that place a Michelin star
Dear God! I just ate but am HUNGRY again!
❤ viva la comida
I see Sweat is one of the secret ingredients😅
Oh boy, this is how we get The Menu.
I'd give $5 for this taco over whatever $5 meal McDonald's comes up with.
you're out of your mind
@@CyrusTheVirus187, nah. The quality is far greater. Plus, McDonalds likely has some small fries, small drink, and a small burger for the same price as a taco.
@trevorjensen2706 they have a full burger , fries ,drink and more on the dollar menu ,that taco has 1.7 grams of meat on it and 3 peices of cabbage, 3 items with a drink for 5 and you want one item for 5 haha you're a great shopper
$5 for one taco? No way. But I would buy it if they threw in a set of tires too!
I’ve personally never had a taco with that much meat
Was that a Kathy Griffin joke?
🇲🇽🇲🇽
Few things can beat a good taco
Hard working guy sweat dripping down him wow a for effort
tires endorsing food on tires
Lolas fillipino restaurant in Pontiac Illinois is amazingly underestimated. I won't be surprised if it's shown on diner's drive-ins and dives.
WEPA!
Lmao 😂taquaria😂
01:00 The secret ingredient is all that sweat dripping and marinated the meat.
It's good to know that the Michelin rating was propaganda for consumers to buy more cars and tires. Clown world
Taste like car tires 😂
Go eat your kfc chicken or something 😅
Michelin must be lowering their standards ,I guess DEI is seeping into everything. The place is filthy and the cook is sweating all over the food.
Wow. Michelin Stars have really lost their prestige, haven't they? Its just a taco with hand made tortillas. Ajuaaaa
No annoying loud abusive privileged customers in streets of Mexico City, Singapore, HongKong… No wonder they get to enjoy affordable Michelin Star rated food.
No thx, i like my food non-starvation sized
Yeah, I also prefer food that is good-tasting and is actually portioned properly instead of just food that looks "nice."
I’d never go to Mexico!

Mexico don’t want u anyways
Doesn’t the Cartels run the government?!
you couldnt pay me to eat that
why ?

What??? I get your joke for fine dining but here it’s not that expensive???
coruption in Mexico entered another level...I mean what the nonsence, do you know how many, better take aways operates worldwide, this wouldn't be even legal by HACCP in most countries...and by the way I don't doubt the meal is delicious, and popular
This has to be a joke.
No
Looks like a pretty basic taco to me and I can still get them that cheap in California. Don't get me wrong, I'd try it but it doesn't look like anything special.
chpotle is better
I try taco-Mexican and taco-California both doesn’t taste the same . even if u had Mexican-soda and California-soda both doesn’t taste the same. If u had California-chips and Mexican-Chips both doesn’t taste the same. If u guys already then each one of u guys noticed .
