    Good video, but please build a sub box out of mdf medium density fiberboard or birch plywood. Pine plywood is not dense enough and you won't have much bass at all. Just giving you some constructive critisizim.

      much appreciate but these were just givin to me like that for free, use them as in house subs so i didnt bother to make a new box. all my in car stuff gets mdf

      Uh...and the pseudo-audio engineers come out of tgeir cave. Many bass speaker boxes have been made out of pine, look at a Fender Bassman as one example.
      Just because it's not commonplace doesn't mean it's not feasible.
      I've seen sub boxes made out of pine, MDF, birch plywood, scrap 2x4 2x6 2x8, sold ABS plastic, composites, Lexan, Closed-cell high density Foam, paint cans...list goes on. And they all BOOM. Granted, sound quality is in the ear of the beholder...but all these boxes out of all these materials sounded great and I've been surpised.

    Should I use a fuse holder for this? The wiring kit I got came with one and I'm not sure if I need to use it.

    • @lucidgaming1153
      @lucidgaming1153  Před 2 lety

      the fuse that came with a wiring kit for a car amp would be way too high amperage to do anything for a computer power supply so its not really useful

    Can i put jus one wire in 12v and one in ground

    • @robertmeineke74
      @robertmeineke74 Před 6 měsíci

      no. because it won't flow enough current (amperage) through that size of gauge wire.. you will need multiple to avoid problems like burning up the amp, melting wires or kicking breakers. However, you don't need that jumper wire really. just put one yellow one to that terminal as well.

      Bad amps. your power supply isn't powerful enough, you can wire the supply for 24 volts.

  • @CurrentlyObsessively

    nothing was plugged into the L & R connections on the amp?? Is there a different audio out that is powering the subs?? Also I had done this before with a 700 some odd number amp and a different PSU and had it work like a dream, powered 4 speaker towers at massive volumme without fail at numerous parties, but now I got a reallllllly cheap amp (250W) for 10 bucks at the pawn shop and I got all my +12v to the positive and a good number of ground wires connected but the green on light doesn't come up for the amp... I know there are plenty of volts going through, the PSU fan is on, but the amp doesn't power up. My old setup had no jumper from REM to + and worked fine but I'm contemplating jumping from POS to REM to get this fucker workin. Wish me luck!

    • @lucidgaming1153
      @lucidgaming1153  Před 6 lety

      sorry for the late response, my amp has more than one channel. one for the front and the rear, i only use the rear outputs because they have my low pass filter switch that i needed for my subwoofers. it is possible that you have a faulty amp. or the power supply died. i would say you should make sure it isn't dusty in the power supply. when dust builds it can be conductive and could possibly short something on the PSU. the fan is on a different circuit so it may still work. did you make sure to jump the motherboard on connection? Good luck and hope all went well!

      I got the x-box brick on a 2000 watt earth quake amp, pushing two 15"s
      and 4 speakers on a $30 head unit.
      It's alot of adjusting but it's no complaints.

    • @lucidgaming1153
      @lucidgaming1153  Před 2 lety

      So if the ground and power wires are heating up there Is either a point of high resistance, or the Amp is pulling to much power for that power supply and that size of wire.

      try slowly turning the gain down and see if it scratches more when you move it, if it does disconnect power, get some pot cleaner and spray it in there and move the gain control around. also try wiggling and turning your rca connections. if all that fails try changing the speakers out or use a different amp to see if its something internal in the amp
