For those that want to do this but don't know how, you can, but you'll need a few things.
-Wire
-Wire stripper (you can use nail clippers. Just press on it gently, DONT CUT IT, then pull)
- 2 pin JST Male and Female connectors with the right crimp terminals (measure the size and pitch of the JST from the kit) (the pitch is length between one contact center and the next)
-crimping tool (you can use small long nose pliers; this will be a little tough but it'll do the job)
-Soldering Wire/Lead
-Soldering Iron
steps:
1. strip both ends of the wires (just a small bit, let's say half a grain of jasmine rice. Why jasmine rice, you ask? idk in which part of the world you are but if you end up having basmati rice... well shit, just go 1/3 of that. I just made this unnecessarily long but fuck it), one end for the crimp terminals and the other for soldering to the male JST
2. Using one end of the stripped wire, crimp by using the crimping tool (or the long nose pliers)
3. Insert the crimp terminals into the female JST
4. Solder the other end of the wires to the male JST *(MAKE SURE OF THE PLACEMENT OF THE WIRES IF POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE BEFORE SOLDERING)*
Easy lazy step (no JST required):
Fuck everything and just cut in the middle of the wire of the kit. Strip both ends and extend it using the wire you have and solder it together
Why are things like this so hard to find at a good price? One would think that plastic toy makers would be all over this hole in the market. Oh well...what do I know? I'm just one of thousands who would buy many of these.
Lol, you think plastic toy makers look up to Gunpla ? They just do cheap things that are sold ten times the price.

@@DX16 Something like this would be ridiculously cheap and easy to manufacture, even moreso without the LEDs. There isn't any complex manufacturing or engineering that goes into making a few flat plastic plates with a little sci-fi detail and some connection holes and pegs.

stuff is crazy. Action bases are like ¥500 in Japan, where I would easily buy one for almost every kit… Here they are like $10-$12. I’ve been considering ordering some off of Temu because it’s just that bad…
This is gonna look perfect with the coming 30MM Armored Core kits.

I can't get behind it lol. Love it conceptually as a middle point between Nu and Unicorn but my god is it butt ugly lol.
I bought two of these and they are so nice, they look great. I got mine on HLJ, they were in stock so I had no issue getting them
If you want something far cheaper but also essentially more bare-bones, apparently Daiso does sell modular hanger display sets for pretty cheap.
Its rather small and can only fit normal HGs on its own, but it can join up with more of other ones on the X and Y axis, not so much the Z Axis though.
A background choice might be a black sheet with pinholes or white LEDs. Give it that space station vibe. Maybe put some clear plastic in the holes to make it look like it's windows.

Just built mg heavy arms (normal ver no extra accessories) was an amazing kit! Heavyams is one of my fav is not, my fav gundam I’ve see bc of all the artillery. Keep up the great work!

I have quite a few of these. Highly recommend.
As far as I've tried, you can't connect more than two sets of lights together. So they'll be powered in pairs.
As for stacking them, it's not possible out of the box, but I did upturn a pair to put on top of another pair, making a double height hangar.
It fits PG.
Turning them upside down is a great idea! Definitely going to grab a couple more

An easy way to do something like this with any base structure is to just use fairy lights. You can get them as battery-powered or USB, or sometimes both, and could even get them with different colors (red and yellow for warning lights and whatnot). Then just drill a few small holes into the structure and push the lights in through the back. Voila, lighted base.
You might be able to hold the clips on with the little black tape bits.

Super simple fix. Build both left format, place them next to each other, then rotate right one 90* to the right.

Honestly, I'd advise you to save some money to have the RG Unicorn.
I bought a couple on your recommendation and am not as happy with it as you are. Leds are super bright with no diffusion so it is simply not pleasant to look at. And how are you supposed to power a bunch of these anyway.
I just checked this costs so much more in my country. Around 38USD. Looks good though!

These are always out of stock because they are so cheap... compare to say the ones offered by Fext Hobby. Their Fext System linkable display sets for Macross and Transformers are like 46 EUR / 50 USD each.

Hot take: hanger displays are just to make people feel less self conscious / more justified about displaying their mechas in vanilla standing pose
I mostly agree, but I'm sure you can do something cool with equipment like Striker packs, Core Gundam armors, or the FA Unicorn's/Perfectability's weapons with a hanger display.
I dont use hangar display or even action stand, but stack my kits vanilla standing but arranged chest-to-chest/shoulder to shoulder due to limited space.
And you will be too, if you buy at least one kit per week, and have more than 500 gunplas, and hundreds more of non gunpla mechs kit.
I mean, vanilla standing poses aren't bad.
Heck, some people fail at even posing standing poses and it is one of the most important poses ever.
I usually do dynamic poses, but I don't agree. For example, a diorama in a maintence bay looks incredible, plus some kits just look better standing stoicly. Although, I do tend to prefer adding my own leds to kits and dios
I mean my Wing kits are set up like that one standing shit of all the suits in the city
