I used Windows until I was about 35 years old. I was an Apple hater. Then I got a Macbook (i5 and now M1) and for all of MacOS' faults, these machines are amazing. I never have issues with it and the weird MacOS quirks that drive me crazy are nothing compared to the frustrations of using Windows. I don't hate myself enough to go back to Windows.
It is amazing how impatient we have become over the decades with computers. I am older than Paul and have experienced the progress of computers from a regular end user who does not write in the tech industry. I do not leave on the bleeding edge as I do not need the latest and greatest. If a laptop with a NvME takes 30 seconds to boot up from a cold start up so be it. People need to take a break away from all tech.
I think that’s a bad take. We should expect consistent improvements and as little stagnancy as possible ESPECIALLY given how much things cost. If it can’t perform better than a used all in one from 2007, it better not cost more than a used all in one from 2007. If, on the other hand, they are charging 2024 dollars, it should have 2024 refinement.
The bigger problem is that there is a real potential for data loss if something was unsaved. Normally the computer should resume from sleep and retain all of that, but thanks to the unreliability of PCs that process frequently fails.
You guys should take a look at the benchmark scores for the snapdragon's. I know the NDA's exist till next week but the scores are leaking out, and they don't appear to be what was promised thus far. Recall at this point may not be the biggest problem with these ;-)
Alex Ziskind has a good video about this topic. The main problem I see with these is the naming convention on the line is horrible. There are 3 Snapdragon Elites in the wild X1E-78-100, X1E-80-100, and X1E-84-100. Calling them 78, 80, and 84 is easier, but the significance of those differences is lost on the consumer. We developed some intuition over time about what to expect between an i3, i5, and i7, and even Apple tries with M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max. I don't know how Qualcomm thought burying the performance level as the middle 2 digits of an 8 character string was a good idea.
Odd... here Pau| says that Microsoft should have tested this feature more before shipping, given no-one currently has a Copilot+ PC, meaning it wasn't possible to do so. But on his site he's said "everyone is wrong, this feature is safe and hacking it onto a regular PC is clearly misrepresenting the safety of the actual feature and people are intentionally misrepresenting bits of what Microsoft have said about it, and how it'll work". So... is it safe to ship or not? 🤷🏻♂️
Well being this late in the process my guess is it's shipping regardless, just likely disabled to where end users won't see it right away or something. Based on all the back-tracking and "fixes" tells me it's really not as secure as Paul seems to think it is (at least not yet, I assume they'll get it there eventually).
Meaning, they could have announced it at Build, tested it this summer with Insiders who have Copilot+ PCs, released it as a preview with 24H2, and then finalized it in early 2024. You know, like Apple is doing with Apple Intelligence. Not clear why this was confusing.
LOL.. boy do you guys need to stay in your lane. All onions, including red onions are nutritionally positive. They are literally good for you, unless you personally have an issue with them. It is fine if Brad doesn't like red onions. Guess what? People are allowed to like things you don't like. Jebus. Do you know why a lot of restaurants serve red onions on their salads? Because people like them.
Picture behind Paul looks crooked.
It's his instant on anger causing the world to tilt...lol
Paul needs the fake wall back!
Dunno where the onion (dis?)info came from, everything I've read says they're full of antioxidants and generally considered beneficial.
Brad is projecting because he personally doesn't like. It is silly as hell.
completely agree. Red onions are much better for your health than yellow onions but hey lets not let facts get in the way. LOL
lol ah boy
@@thurrottcom up with this i will not put!

Don't come to Louisiana not liking real onions 😁

I'll just look at a real PC and see what that's like. I suspect there will be a range of scores, but all that matters is the real world experience.

Onion haters going to hate😎
You gotta take off the cuff nonsense for what it is. :) Geesh

Yes, they need to stay in their lane… about onions?
Listen to yourself. People have opinions about food. We all eat food. Calm down.
@@jonasking3670 Right. It's ridiculous to even discuss this.
Get a life....
