I remember watching this back in 2014 wanting to build a recreation.
Unfortunately back then I had no concept of mods.
As of now 2022 I created a working recreation with the create mod that is indeed rideable.
Thank you for showing this concept to 7 year old me.

Technically, you can make this in Vanilla. You can setblock a rotated block. It'd just be alot of command blocks

To be honest, I doubt that this is possible without mods. You can just rotate blocks in four or six directions. However, I don't think you can rotate a whole building like that. This is impossible without a mod.
