Both the mother sub and flying sub are both beautiful works of art. What a great TV program to have as a kid.

Ok, some of the scripts were dire, but the Seaview was awesome.
Not sure whether I'm in favour of replacing the old exterior footage with CGI though.
I loved this show. It could be remade, but only by a fan of the show. You have to include the theme in any remake. It's a classic and unforgettable.

My dad was a NASA Engineer and I was in High School. Voyage was on TV and Dad happened to see the flying dub. He smiled in amazement and said the was a re-entry concept (NASA) vehicle in the early 1960’s.

The movie came out in 1961, the TV series in 1964. It ran on TV until 1968.
The first season used the eight window version, but the ship was later changed to the four window version after the flying sub was included. I watched this show every Sunday night when I was a kid.
The. Space ships etc never disappointed In any Allen's shows
Awesome art! Just wish there was some more love for the poor old, often destroyed and finally overshadowed by the Flying sub, Mini sub. In my humble opinion it was a classic design, as it was put in the novelization of the movie "hunchbacked and jaunty". After all, if even the diving bell had three pictures devoted to it, why not a couple more for the Mini?

@ Isotec1. Paul Sawtell wrote the beautiful "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea" theme music. I think he composed some music for at least one Universal Studios' horror film during the mid-to-late 1940's.

Absolutely beautiful. Very well done. That show was SO STUPID toward the end. But the vessels where simply masterful. I have numerous models that I have spent years working on. That's how impressive these vessels are. I wish some one would build REAL ones.
The episodes in the later season 1968. Were horrible. With the exception of Attack ! & Flaming Ice.

My problem with the flying sub even as a kid was, where are the control surfaces? Loved the show though never missed an episode at least 3 times each.

Nevertheless gained a loyal following of America's youth thru the grow influence of broadcast television networks' shows, (including this young/impressionable boy) U-TUBE'S presentation of talented model makers' works on hand-made Seaview Submarines & other Seaview/Flying Saucer Combo Kit bought @ models' convention were also a pleasant surprise! Hey Luis, I am curios, are these all computer renderings or do you have models involved? I am impressed with them, and I would like to know if you built any of those models. Have you seen the new Moebius Models 32" Seaview coming out, delayed since January, in May? It's gorgeous. It can be built two ways, one with the window frames and one without. I ordered two so I can do both, though I have several of both now. My wife is freaking because I am running out of space to put them in. Great Music!

Was the Seaview cockpit 2 stories of windows?
The SEAVIEW from the movie and first season had eight windows in front.
The top row was an observation room,
The bottom row was the control room.
The later version had four windows, control room , and the flying sub.
I could du with the flying sub so i get to west bromwich town centre so i dony have to wait 4 buses that never show up...

Was a fan of the show. Being young, knew little about mechanical craft, now I see no rudders to steer the flying sub, unless it's done by alternating engine thrust, I guess, nor could those windows hold up against striking the ocean surface, not forgetting the impact on the pilots. Still, I like the design of the craft.
