You didn't even mention "Peyton Place"" or "Madam X". You make it sound like Lana Turner couldn't act at all. You are very wrong. Lana Turner's "Madam X" & Shelley Winter's "Let No Man Write My Epitaph" were two of the best roles for women & their leading ladies did a superb job. Shame on you.

Ditto. He didn't mention Peyton Place either- ugh. Another commenter mentioned "Imitation Of Life"; that was another great movie, & scenes of it were played in a later movie, "Holiday Heart".
That Johnny wanted to shoot Connery cause he was certainly jealous that her girlfriend had an affair with her fellow actor and before being attacked, Connery abruptely punched him, in self defense. But neither of these men were good to women. Obviously, that italian mobster was abusive and Connery was a macho who openly said that he had no problem hitting women.
Lana Turner never did a movie with Cary Grant. I think you probably mean Clark Gable.

I don't think she was a pin up like Rita Hayworth or a sex symbol like the hot Ava Gardner but she was pretty and a pretty good actress, elegant, glamour, classy. When her italian boyfriend didn't want only to kill Connery but her, during an argument, and her daughter finally killed him. She is lesbian. Is it due partly to that messy male experience with her mother's boyfriend ? 🤔 I think it traumatized her. But she was brave to protect her mother in such a threatening situation. Lana said that she engaged herself with this bad boy cause he fascinated her. Some women love bad guys cause it's exciting and adventurous but it's often dangerous. She paid the costs for that.
