You are a great mechanic. Your customers are lucky. Thank you for the videos sir!
Great job expressing concern about properly suspending the vehicle, having a solid foundation for the jack to sit on and the importance of a secondary safety jack. I hate having to get under it im claustrophobic and constantly checking the supports. If it falls on you that's the end of the game and it's happened to a lot of people. Just a horrible thing for the victim and anyone that becomes involved.
Having a car fall on me YEARS AGO, was definitely a wake up call!!
Thanks a lot for the video!
I replaced today Left Catalytic Converter in my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
The Best Wishes to You!
Glad it helped
@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos Thanks!!!
Thank you señor for making this video. Now I'm confident I can replace my own cat on my '06 Pathfinder.
No problem at all, and THANKS! Let us know how it goes with your repair!
Man. I wasn't playing around when I did both cats. I soaked all bolts with WD40 for 10 minutes and broke everything loose with a hand ratchet. I also took tire plastic shield and heat shield off to make access so easy.
I usually Lay the tire I removed under the car as backup support.
Your dammed good mechanic bro just watch your video on Nissan pathfinder how to replace the Cat well done thanks for the good advice👍
Thank Edward, really appreciate that!
Does there have to be a problem causing the cat to fail? Mines the original one 15 years old. They can just fail over time right? P0430. This is the first mil light i seen on my 06 pathfinder ever. We keep up with oil and plugs and everything. Still original coils 😂
How do you find out what the cause the CAT to go bad? Would appreciate a response, thank you.
I have q have 05 pathfinder and just had replace catilac converter is there one on right and one on left or just one .
I have 130 miles on the odometer now. Should I wait when the catalytic converter breaks down or is it better to prepare for a replacement?
Is there any chance it will last even longer?
I changed all 4 cats on my 07 Xterra yesterday and it actually went pretty smooth but I had to cut out the heat shield on the passenger side to get the the cat bolt on top so now I don’t have a heat shield on the passenger side. How big of a problem is that? I can wrap possibly affected parts with aluminum tape but I’m not sure what parts are at risk. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated thanks for the video.
You are too much
Thank you
Thank you 🙏
man that is a very tight fit, the new cat looks so much better. curiosity killed the cat lol.
Lol, thanks Bats!
Question, Do you think if you change the catalytic converter is best to change the sensor and all the other components attached to the catalytic converter?
You don't have to change them, but if they have never been changed it would be a good idea.
Thank you!!!!! Can you dig it????
Ooh they got the ranchos on that unit!
How long would it actually take you to change that coverter , trying to get a sense for long it takes so when I go to the shop or not , they don't try to make it seem like it takes hours n hours to do
A proper shop with tools and parts available might take a few hours. I did both of mine in the driveway on a 200k+ mi. Pathfinder covered in rust and it took a while. Removing fender liners helps immensely.
I also got cheap new cats from Rock Auto and they don't line up with our fit the existing flanges. So that took quite a bit of fussing around.
Nice job Timmy, you do great work by yourself and filming at the same time.
Thanks Robert!
thanks for ths video. i have a 2008 pathfinder le that was from a northern state and rusted quiet badly underneath. has been nothing but trouble from day 1. i have already had the exhaust manifold assembly replaced due to a factory weld issue per the mechanic and the A/F ratio sensor and now a P0430 pops up which i am assuming because the cat converter is damaged. any suggestions on best way to remove the exhaust cover and then removing the bolts/studs? should i even bother with the replacement or just take my loses and sell the vehicle as is?
It is extremely rare I suggest NOT to put any more money into a vehicle, but RUST is not something you want to mess with.
Timmy you ain't no joke, you do those jobs one handed. Most people can't do It with 2 hands lol. Grate job brother!
Thanks Freddy!
I would’ve died if a cat walked past 😂
Presented very well! Subed
Thanks Scott!
So I took off the o2 sensor at the catalytic converter and was getting a reading of 55 psi which would suggest that it's pretty much shot. My question is what additional damage could be done to the engine if its ran like that and how long would it take. I've only driven it a total of 10 miles since the check engine light came on and got a p0300 random misfire fault
@@galyien With a clogged cat, you will eventually lose power, and the car will only reach about 35 MPH.
Thanks for the video, have a quick question, after installing should there be smoke coming from anywhere?
Yes, you might get some smoke from around the new cat. It's the oil burning off. It should go away within 15 to 30 minutes.
What bolts did you use. Link if possible?
Thanks for the shout out, Timmy
Hello. I have a quick question, does the cat have to be break in after
Nope.
Where zare you located
Was just curious about the cat itself where did the owner get it ?
We believe it was autopartswarehouse.com
@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos Thank you
Sidekick: 29:55 who killed the cat ? Hahaha
LOLOLOL!!!
Any suggestions for breaking the original nuts loose? they don't have a head to put a wrench on both sides. 3 studs and 3 nuts. One stud is in the manifold and the other 2 are in the cat.
Will a Catalytic Converter come like that for a 07 Armada ? Or they sell the whole manifold on these?
Check rockauto.com
Splash can come out
Timmy I have a question my 2012 pathfinder is reading code PO 420 bank 1, should I change the one is close to the tire or the one underneath ( the long one)?
You have to find out which side is BANK 1, and then replace the FIRST cat on that side.
@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos thank you! I saw your other video where you changed bank one is the same as mime ... But I went to autozone and they showme the bank one has to cats the long one and the one you show on video where you have to take the tire off in order to take it out!
@@arturoramirez6742 Does the long one show an O2 sensor AFTER it? The 2 O2 sensors should be BEFORE and AFTER the main one.
Great vid but I have a question-
My vehicle is an 06 Nissan Frontier
SE 4x4 - 6 cyl-4.0
One of the coils went, but I had to drive it like 40 miles to the shop with a misfire- would that kill the cat?
Thanks
It is possible, but not definite.
Thank you
Glad we could help.
@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos How to know if is bad o not. Many mecánic said it’s mass air flow sensor another mecanic said it’s the catalyct converter. Please help. When I delete the code everything is going well but when it comes back start to. I press. Gas and does not go. Starts to lose power I don’t know what to do
Code is p0101
P0101 is a problem with the Mass Air flow!
Must be a common problem in these trucks. Mine have gone out 3 times already.
Was the exhaust manifold gasket replaced at the same time, and did you have any other codes at the time?
@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos I dont think I've replaced the gasket. The bank 2 sensor 1 code did come up as well as P0430.
@@RANDOM-qs1dc That sensor could be an issue, but we have come across that if the gasket is not replaced, it messes up the converter.
@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos yeah both have gone out around the same time, I just replaced the sensor, but the p0430 code is still on.
(CRAZY IN THE FACE)!! LMBO!! 😂

Been there myself, looking crazy in the face.. 😂😂
I thought cats had 9 lives?
For some reason when i read your comment, it brought back Morris the cat doing the commercials for 9 lives, lol.
