Reece didn't like the sound of the C30, so we moded the muffler. Still not the sound he was looking for. So we did a muffler delete, Y pipe addition. Now that's the rite sound.
I just cut mine off cause I hate how quiet they are from factory. The droning at 2.5k is absolutely mental though. Not sure whether to add a smaller muffler or do a y pipe, kinda sucks having to split it to twin exhausts
I dont like the droning. My son & daughter dont mind it. I kept the muffler just in case tho. I suppose a resonator in place of the muffler mite be ok.
how is the droning in the cabin with the y pipe? I'm doing the exact same thing, but I've been driving around with just the muffler cut off and the droning is pretty insane around 2.5k. would the y pipe help that any?
Reece likes it, I don't. The Y pipe drones & is irritating to me. I would have put a smaller muffler with a good deal of flow thru. Reece will get tired of the droning after a while. Maury
We cleaned out the muffler as you saw. It made a small difference in the sound but not as much as you would expect. Thats why Reece wanted to do the entire muffler delete. He will get tired of the drone eventually.
Welding safety!Son wear apron?It is not funny,unless you want some other guy make your babies!As far sound goes ,you should used wider pipes inside that open one, with slight gap opening in between,try it?

I wouldn’t delete the whole thing. It plays a role in weight distribution

Droning still too much, even with the Y pipe IMHO. I would have kept the reworked muffler.

Since the muffler is thin sheet metal, this could be called stitch welding. We don't have a TIG machine, so we make due.
