Citizend - Bad Moon Rising

Citizend, a duo hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, is excited to unveil their debut concept EP, "The Spiral". Teaming up with heavyweight champions Majestic Mountain Records they are looking forward to showcasing the conceptual universe they carefully have been building for the last 18 months.
Citizend consists of Emil Gustavsson (ex Orochen) and multi-instrumentalist and producer Otto Nilsson. The duo has come together with the vision to break boundaries between classical genre descriptions intertwining their music with themes and concept.
The journey begins with a haunting reinterpretation of the classic Creedence song, "Bad Moon Rising.” Infused with dark and apocalyptic folk tones, the song adapts its meaning to the unsettling realities of today's world. Originally released in 1969, the song's lyrics remain prophetic, offering relevant commentary on contemporary issues. The eerie resonance of the lyrics seems more important now than ever.
“This song has been with me since childhood, and it wasn't until quite recently that I sat down and really listened to the lyrics. That made me want to try and adapt it to the world we live in today”, says Emil Gustavsson.
"Bad Moon Rising" serves as the starting point, and laying the conceptual framework of the world “The Spiral” will take place in. Stay tuned as Citizend sets out to carve a unique path in the music landscape, pushing boundaries and inviting listeners into their universe of “The Spiral”.
"This song sets the foundation and the sound for the entire project," says Otto Nilsson, "and it was a very gratifying track to start working on together to create our own musical universe”.
