Roof Framing with Snugg-er Birds Mouths

  • Now that the foundation has set and the walls have been framed, it's time to put up the roof. The last shed I built was substantially smaller than this one. I used 2x4s to frame the roof of that smaller shed. Because this one is a bit bigger, I'm going with 2x6s. I also went with a more "snug" bird's mouth. I don't know if it ads any structural value, but I just liked the look better. I know no one will see it but I know it's there. Lol. Framing up walls is probably the most satisfying part about building a shed. Once they're up, it's your first glimpse at the space and it's really the point where the build starts to feel real. #vkshedbuild2 #diyweekends #vincherokarpintero
