I had never caught a Rayquaza until yesterday. I did 3 raids by my self and 2 were shinnies. Right after that, with friends, I got a 100% on my fourth raid. So I thought "Well, this is probably a very easy legendary to get", after watching this I see how lucky I was. RIP his credit card.

Ditto. The first-ever Rayquaza I’d ever successfully caught was yesterday. I’d fought against it in the early days of its release, but even after beating them, I never could catch it. Until yesterday. And, it was a 91% shiny, no less.
I loved this type of content, honestly so enjoyable to watch! I never get the chance to catch more than a half hour of your streams so this was awesome! Keep it up Nick! :)

I did 80 Raids and got 1 shiny, no hundo. If it is not because I want XLc for my shundo, I would have never done that. It’s used to be at 1/20 rate for shiny. The time I got my shundo, I did 120 Raids and got 14 shinies. The shiny rate also reduce for many members in my community. This is total BS Niantic.

Yeah, It's just bad rng. I got 12 shinys and 2 hundos from 132 raids
When the shiny rate is 1/20, the chances of you getting 1 or 0 shinies after 80 tries are about 8,6%. Thus, the chances of getting more than 1 shiny after 80 tries are about 91,4%.
Just bad luck/variance. I got 4 shinies in 25 raids.
I got two shiny rayquaza’s and two hundos from 7 raids lol

I haven't been able to do gyms so I had no coins stocked up. Got up and used my 2 free passes on Saturday and got 2 shinies back to back. I called it a day after that. 116 raids is insane Nick. Sorry about your luck!

201 raids without any hundo is actually not that unlikely (~40% chance). But I hope you'll get it eventually!

I did one Groudon raid and got the shiny and then 67 kyogre raids and no shiny
Niantic rollin in the dough this weekend. I saw at LEAST 6 people max their Rayquaza to lvl50.. thats like 80 raids per person.
If they each spent $100, Niantic is rich on that $600.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that, Nick. Your experience was eerily similar to my own. About 120 raids this weekend, three shinies (all two star), and only one 98% (nothing else even got into the '90s). It's all RNG, of course, but sadly, this was indicative of my experience with raids for the past six months or so. The shinies and good IV's have been very hard to find for quite some time. Hopefully, our luck will turn soon.

I had very similar luck to you except my shiny didn’t come until the event was technically over, after 8 pm so it didn’t have the move hurricane. I damn near tilted off the edge of the planet.

Thanks for linking this video to your most current one (6/10/2022). Sometimes I think you are supremely lucky. This made me feel more like Niantic’s shiny rates are crappy for all of us. I got really lucky on Rayquaza when it first came out. Got a hundo and a shundo with only one raid in between.
i spent about 156 dollars for rayquaza i kinda regret it because i only got one shiny and no hundos

Caught a dialga during pokemon go fest and feel alright about getting back in. Definitely not a shiny hunter but would like to get back to feeling like a top tier pogo player. Wow that is some Rayquaza pain. I've had 2 hundos flee from me, in fact I've never caught anything better than 91%. When the shiny was released it took 71 raids to get 1 shiny and that was on a raid that went past the end of the event. Still this is better than my Lugia luck. Hopefully those lucky trades will come through for you!

Niantic should just sponsor big channels like Mystic, Nick, Brandon, etc. They are advertising the game all year, they each spent more than 50 casual players on the game and don't even get a thank you from them. If I was one of their marketing dudes I'd at least make sure they keep playing more and slip em an ultra box every week.
When that happens, then the credibility of Mystic, Nick, Brandon, etc. is called into queastion. Are they saying good things because they’re contracted? I found out from a couple other (larger) creators that sponsors can actually require that they be allowed to approve videos that they sponsor, and it can’t be disclosed.
true, that has to be specified. if they're getting real money and signing a contract then they have to risk getting censored. but so far they never said anything really bad about niantic (like "14$ for galarian mr mime? those greedy bastards, I urge you guys to NOT buy tickets!" to create an uproar) and if niantic just gave them in-game items as a thank you for the massive advertisement then they don't need a contract.
earlier I translated a browser game's site from englisch to german and just got paid by massive amounts of in-game currency. the really small company saved at least 200 bucks and for just a few hours of work I got probably twice as much in items. so if Nick spends over 100 passes, streaming hours every day, gets disappointed for the terrible shiny rate, I as a company shouldn't just ignore that imo
I feel like our luck is very similar, at least in regards to Rayquaza. I did over 52 raids and only got 1 shiny Ray from it. However, I did get lucky enough to receive a shiny Ray from GBL while it was available, so that's something!
I know that exact feel Nick. It took me 53 raids until I finally got shiny Thundurus and 58 to get shiny Tornadus.
This girl who always flakes on my group got a shundo after less than 20. Out of spite I wasn't telling her when I had a raid lol

I had a shlundo Ray prior to this event. I was certainly down to get other great IVs, but that XL was the mission.
I made it to level 48 on it, despite working Saturday. Even that I was burnt out on... kudos to grind for the 296 XL.
the far away raid system destroys the game, now everyone cane have hundreds of legendarys, just have to pay some bucks
ya'll need to join in on this possible conspiracy: Niantic has raised the shiny rate on Legendary raids. Mystic7 and JTGily talked about this. Others have mentioned this. I have experienced this. My only shiny Legendary I got THIS year, was an incarnate Thundurus. I've been raiding every week, buying Remote Passes, to get a bunch of crappy iv, regular Legendaries. I spend quite some money in 1 Ultra box and Remote passes alone and got nothing to show for it.

Its painfully obvious how since a few months after introducing remote raids how much the shiny rate on legendaries has dropped. In my raid group it’s become common to see people doing 20,30,50 raids without a shiny. This was almost unheard of odds before remote passes. They discovered their cash cow and are milking it exponentially.
@@lindsaylegault2203 Pretty sure they didn't change anything. It's way more likely it's your expectations that got higher while the luck has dropped a bit. I know people that raid 1/3rd of what I do and have more shiny legendaries. That's how it works. One friend literally did 1 Rayray raid and got a shiny.
I feel very sorry for you Nick. I did at least 30 Raids and did get one Shiny. But it was my first ever shiny Rayquaza. I did sooooo many raids in the last years. BTW nice edited Video was very funny :D

Dang, man I feel for you. It reminds me of when I hunted shiny Mewtwo the first time it was available (spoilers: I didn't get one until the second time like a month ago). For me this raid weekend was like the best luck ever, I did a little more than 10 raids, and got 3 shinies and a hundo! I also got a couple of other shinies. So I was extremely happy overall :)

@TrainerTips I feel your pain Nick. I went 1/51 on terrakion, 1/50 on mewtwo, 1/41 on Ho-Oh, and 1/49 on Lugia. It was so painful i almost quit playing. Do you think Niantic should implement some sort of "pity timer" that activates after a player has done a certain amount of raids that gives the player an increased shiny rate until they finally get one? They do something similar in a lot of mobile gacha games.
Did 14 raids, a decent shiny and a hundo. Was happy with that 🙌🏻
I used 2 free remote raid passes and got a shiny Ray on my second raid. Boom. Could you imagine if that shiny Nick got on his 53rd attempt ran away.

@@Chick3nDipp3rz What he means is that when you get a shiny from a legendary it will always stay in the ball. So u just have to get it in the ball 1 time.
Nice I did one raid one shiny if was 71 iv I'm still happy on the fourth and final raid another shiny 91iv strange that on the raids I got shiny I quickly tapped through the rewards but on the others I went slowly

Rayquaza's always been my favorite legendary and overall one of my favorite pokemon so every time he's in raids I try to go hard to get a hundo which was my overall goal this time and I was definitely on the lucky side of things. ^^; Did 133 raids and got 7 shinies and my long awaited hundo. So my XLs are definitely going into that one. ^^; Still want a shundo though. XD

To be fair alot of people get to do more raids with remote raids passes. So more chances to get shiny and hundo

Hey man good to see I was not the only one with horrible shiny luck . I got one shiny out of 57 raids and I believe that the odds for rayquaza were way more than 1/20 .

Using the gamepress DPS calculator, Mega Loppuny isn’t actually as bad as I expected! It’s about Machamp level of dps, against Darkrai raids with Shadow Ball, its normal typing makes it VERY tanky!!
It's been working like this for me on many legendary s Terrakian took 25 raids, Kyurem took 53, Reshiram took 43 raids just for ONE shiny each. That was with 1/20 odds.
I totally feel ya in this vid. my highest cp was 2180 out of 74 raids with 0 shiny. Tough luck for sure. Very discouraging

I also got Two Shiny Rayquaza’s but out of 55 raids, and one 96% IV Shiny and the other shiny was average.
