I happened to see this pop up in my feed and I have to watch so I never take her for granted.
You'll be happy to know that this week commemorates 3 months that she's been with us. It's a wild ride. She is no longer the little toughie desperate street dog. She finally got full. Lol. Now she is a lady of leisure and sophistication. She eats carefully now and will walk away from food if she's had enough. And she now understands that ladies of refinement accept food in a gentle manner. 😊 On the flipside, she looooves playing in water and is a big tomboy digging in the dirt even though mommie says that's a nono. She still prefers outside to inside, even if it's 100 degrees. Lil miss is often sunning herself eating her favorite bone. I still don't have her exact weight. The vet's scale was broken!!! I am guessing she is about 60ish pounds. She's basically double the size she is here in this video. She continues to improve on her training every day (& mom too!). She is the sweetest, intelligent, has a big sense of humor and still loves her meals even if she leaves some for later. She is quirky as all get out in the best possible way. She is afraid of the water hose even though she dunks in the pool. She is even afraid of towels. Bathtime will be real soon. And you know she will make sure I get my fair share of wet. 😂 Mel what's your secret? You're the best❤ She still works the whine. She's a bigtime daddy's girl (jealous!) And she uses that whine and he just melts. She is my shadow too. Girl power! We just love her so darn much I can't stand it. I can never thank you all enough for taking exemplary care of my sweet girl. Massive group effort I know. We've been blessed by you all. ❤❤❤
You are so amazing! Thank you for saving her. ❤️🤙
P.S. The Dog Mom Guilt is real. She is never far from my mind. I worry over her all the time. I worry I'm not doing enough, or doing things right, how can I make sure she stays happy and healthy, and I worry that she won't gain all her confidence that she deserves to have. Once she feels 100% confident in her self and in us, there will be no stopping her. I can't wait to see that. But I worry. She gives me those sad puppy dog eyes. The girl knows how to work with what she's got! I cannot resist. Dad is no better. Lol. She's a clever, sneaky girl. ❤ does anyone else have mom dog guilt?
@@rockykanakaback atcha!
What a sweet Pupdate II, the sequel! :) I do dog walking and child care, and unless there's reason to suspect maltreatment, of course, I always say to parents that that guilt isn't necessarily a sign you're doing something wrong, it's probably a sign that you're the most invested person in their life, thus, well qualified. Thanks for providing her the happy ending we all craved.
Thanks Megan that's very kind. I appreciate it. ❤@@megansikorra2892
Again, can we please get some money together to send Mel to a spa?? She does so much for these sweet babies and she deserves a spa day ❤❤
If you can organize this somehow, I would donate!
Great idea! ❤️
I would donate too
I don't know how to organize for stuff like this though? Like I wouldn't know how to get it to Mel. Any suggestions would be great!
@rockykanaka Can you help us do this for Mel?
German Shepherds are beautiful, wonderful dogs. I cannot imagine the cruelty of these people to allow her to get in the shape she was in. Thankfully, she has a loving family now.
I feel the same about how people can be cruel to any animal! It makes me so sad, but mostly, very angry!!!!!!
@@chriscowan7883 It makes me feel hatred for humanity, to treat animals in such a fashion, everyone knows what dog spelled backwards is .
Such gifts from God so many do not deserve. 😔
I testify to that.....GSD' s are unbelievably great!😊❤❤❤
Maybe someone died and she was stuck. That happened to someone I know. I wont go into details.
@@ceasarsaran8573 Or lose all their money , forced into a no pets condo or apartment. I lost my cat because of it , haunted for past 14 years . Loved him more than anything , anybody .
Judge not lest ye be judged.
I adopted an emancipated Pug. He was found wandering on the streets and brought to the local shelter by a Good Samaritan where a rescue picked him up. He was chipped, but when they tried to contact the owner, they found out she had passed away almost a month earlier. Her relatives didn’t want him, so I got lucky and he’s part of my family now.
Bless you💓💓

Still crying over Valerie, such a sweet pup who deserved so much more! RiP! Run free and healthy over that rainbow 🌈
I know. That hit me hard, made me think of losing my last dog.
@leslie1010 I cried for over thirty minutes my eyes are tearing up now. It breaks my heart as dogs are the most unconditional loving beings on earth. My dogs are family my 13 yr old blue healer is sleeping right beside me in bed now where he has sleep since I rescued him.
Hearing about her really hit my heart, the poor baby. 😭
I just watched this and I am heartbroken about Valerie 💔 She was the Sweetest Soul. I just hope she is running around with my Moose on rainbow bridge 🌈
I know he brought Shadow to us. He was going to be euthanized. He does alot of the same things my last dog did.
I got teary eyes every time I see Valerie’s video. She showed how sweet she was when she tried so hard to get up and approach Rocky despite her frail condition. Life is just so unfair sometimes 😢
People crying doesn't always move me, but dogs crying breaks my entire heart 😢
I’m totally with you on that her crying made my heart hurt…. ☮️💔
Valerie passed knowing that her life was worth it, that she was someone. She felt safe, and she felt loved. Valerie was not alone, having amazing people by her side, and that's huge! Thankyou for showing us these lives and helping every animal you can. Run In Paradise, sweet Valerie, over the Rainbow Bridge 🌈🐶
😢😢😢❤
Rocky I decided to give you some positive affirmation. You are a good boy, you are loved by all your internet fans. We are glad you’re here and you deserve all the praise you get on here. ❤️
And when one is lost... it is NOT your fault.
Rocky is the best boy! ❤
Rocky, you are wonderful ❤
Awe that is AWESOME!! He's an awesome guy! 🥰👏❤️
Losing Valerie hurts a lot, but you're right, she got to leave this world loved. And any kind of love, no matter how brief, matters ♥♥
I have always rented larger apartments with my husband. Then our dogs passed of old age, and I moved into a one bedroom spartment where I couldn't keep a dog. Now, thanks to the Emotional Support Animal law (and 20 years in the military), I can adopt a small dog to join me in my very small, one bedroom apartment. I have just enough room for a little buddy willing to watch my six.
This made me cry. Hearing her sob just broke my heart. I’m glad she’s there. Thank you Rocky for sitting with her and lovingly touching her.
Her cries when you started to pet her just breaks my heart. That poor baby😢.
Macy is why I joined. Thank you to everyone involved in restoring her to health. I will forever love her, now Lucy.
To see Lucy with her hooman mom Sherri has made my day.
Me and my husband are mom and dad to two rescue pups so my heart really wept, but now rejoice over Lucy. Lucy, you go girl, you are forever loved.❤
Amazing! Thank you
You are very welcome!
Please love, hug her. She is so sweet. Thank you. 🙏 she deserves a good life.
1:20 💔. Thank goodness Macy is thriving now!💝
Same here. I wanted to help her so much. Happy I joined 🥰
I would no more give up on a dog than I would give up on a child.❤❤❤ They are so worth it. Such unconditional love
To know, you're NOT the one for that dog, is SO STRONG! That family made way for Macy - Lucy to find her true forever home. If you adopt a dog with an iffy feeling, because you have a sense of plight or duty after a first meet and greet... That's not good.
So thank you to that family for being honest and knowing their limits! Bravo!
After seeing that footage, I too was so sad for them that it didn't work out, which may be strange to say, but I always wanted Lucy to go to the home where she could be a doggie and know true love, safety and comfort. I do hope those families found their forever dog to fit in with their families. I take great pride and honor being chosen to be Lucy's mommie. I do not take that position lightly and try every day to make each better than the last. ❤❤❤
Ahh man it broke my heart to hear that Valerie didn't make it but she was shown love before she died.
Have you ever had to be strong through suffering for so long that eventually a simple hug opens up a floodgate to the needed healing sobs? That’s what I thought of when Macy cried.
Rocky, you thanked everyone but yourself for nursing Macy back to health and putting her in a wonderful forever home. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart, for giving Macy and the others a much deserved second chance and giving me hope in humanity.
And love the updates ❤
We’ve bout\\bought GSDs and once a retriever together. My Retriver was a very jealous dog…never again. Back to GDS forever
😊
She’s precious!! So lively given her initial condition.
I worked as a volunteer until I met an 11 year old, terribly underweight, and traumatized. I took her home wanting to get her back to health and let her pass in a home. She lived another 6 years!! Died happy and loved while her best friend was staying with us which helped my grieving tremendously 🐾💕
Aww, I love that ❤ I found a cat in the same condition when I was a volunteer. He was 9 and was traumatized from his elderly owner passing and him ending up in a shelter. We were going to adopt a kitten but absolutely couldn't leave him, so we got a kitten. And him, lol. Best decision! We weren't sure how long he would live, but he had the biggest turn around out of the shelter and with the kitten that he lived and thrived for another FOURTEEN years and almost outlived the kitten lol. Rescues are just the best!
@@amymbeauty8765That's great! Thank you for rescuing both!
When I saw Valerie, I just had a sense she wouldn’t make it…but she was so soulful. Beautiful eyes
I burst into tears when I saw how Macy/Lucy see her mom for the first time. She just KNEW. ❤ That is how my (rescue, GSD mix) dog acted the first time we met. She had been up for adoption for 5 months. We were destined to be together because it is amazing that she was not snatched up right away. She was the perfect fur child.
I'm a big believer in everything happening for a reason. We are truly blessed to have her.
I agree, it looked like Lucy knew in her heart as soon as she saw Sherri “THERE’S my mummy! I’ve been looking for you!”
I’ve said it before, but I genuinely believe in some sort of soulmate connection between certain animals and humans, and fate will fight to bring them together 💜
Jo
@@TehBuggy the feeling was mutual!
Sending love over the rainbow bridge for Valerie, and all the pups like her 💜
I believe that sometimes an animal fights to hold on just long enough to have a peaceful goodbye. They don’t want to die alone and starving and scared, but once they get to that safe and loving place and they know they can’t win the big fight, they peacefully let go. And as sad as it is, I think sometimes the greatest gift we can give to is tell a suffering animal *“It’s ok, we love you, you did so good. If you need to let go, it’s ok. You are safe, you are loved, and you can rest now.”*
Thank you for putting this so nicely into words.
God bless Valerie. She is running and chasing rabbits with all the beautiful dogs we have all had that passed from this world. ❤
Yes😭😭😭 my Sasha is there, what fun they will have😭😭😭 I wish I could go there now😟
@@robynmarler1951 My Chip, Harry, Dot, are there. Soon my little Luck Bucket will be there too. I would rather be there with them.
WOW, the way Macy & Sherry just GRAVITATED to each other

You made me cry. I feel we were meant to be 🥰
@@samiamisme Thank you for being Lucy's new mom. Her video was also one of the first ones after finding this channel and I kept thinking about her, hoping she would be healthy and happy and loved. Seeing this update is everything I hoped for and I actually cried when I saw you two meet for the first time.
May you and her have a great future together and may she be a blessing for you as much as you are for her. Thank you for taking care of our girl ❤
@@whiteshoos thank you so much. She is a special girl. She has saved me and turned my life around 180 for the better. She gets me up and staying up through the day. Weboth look forward to her training sessions. I cannot wait to get her fully in the pool. She loves water but needs someone to hold her paw I think before she will be convinced of getting all the way in. I think she has great dock diving potential. We'll see 🤞💖💖💖
Thank you for adopting Macy!! It was a miracle.
Were there any enforcement on fining or people put in jail for animal cruility which is one year in prison?
@@donhumes9465 for Macy/Lucy there was no owner to pursue any legalities. I'm not sure about poor sweet Valerie.
I love what you do with these dogs. I’m a dog person myself but, I LOVE all animals. I will never understand how anyone can abuse any animal. Dogs love you unconditionally and depend on you for everything. Seeing Macy cry just asking for pets and food. What a sweetheart. I cried over this precious fur baby. ♥️
I couldn’t hold back the tears. She was crying because she finally felt safe. She was finally allowed to let her guard down not be so guarded she allowed herself to the pleasure to relieve some of that build up emotion by crying. You are such a special person to do what you are doing for them, gaining their trust by your patience, understanding. I cannot thank you enough for what you do for them. Thank you for caring, sharing.
Mel is such a super hero. Can you imagine how comforting that bath had to be for Macy?
I am so sad for Valerie 😢 Rest and peace precious Valerie. My heart BREAKS
I adopted an adult boxer who’d been used for breeding then dumped on the street. She’d been in foster care for months and you could still count every bone along her spine and all her ribs. She was a paunchy potato when she passed away some years later. I’ll never, ever regret adopting her, spoiling her and helping her learn to dog. Adoption is the way.
My daughter adopted a German Shepherd in similar shape to Macy. Simba was 35 pounds when they adopted him and was super anxious. He’s now a gorgeous 85 pounds and is completely attached and devoted to my daughter and her husband.
I’m so thrilled about Macy! Those cries just melted my heart into pieces. And Valerie…I just had high hopes that she would make it out and into a loving home but you are absolutely right in saying that she did live long enough to feel loved and cared for. After our black lab of 14 years passed, we cried every day for a week before running to the rescue and we found our Chow/German Shepherd mix in a similar state. It just hit our hearts and brought her home. She was found in the desert, emaciated, with 8 puppies. Her owner was found but turns out she was no longer wanted when she got pregnant. When we love an animal, it is for life. I truly respect what you do and how big your heart is. What you do is truly a big deal. Thankful to find this channel.
Holy moly ! We have the $6.99 mix n match coupon here so we get 3 mediums for $ 1:10:33 21
i have a chow/GSD rescue, too! he is the best boy in the world, and no amount of time with him will ever be enough. i can't imagine just dumping him because i got pregnant or my life changed. 💔
Macy's cries break my heart and remind me of the early days with my puppy. Macy is clearly a very special girl and her family are so blessed to have her. i know that i'm incredibly blessed to have found my baby.
Agree.thank you. 🐾❤✌
@@KD-bh2ju That’s amazing!! So happy you rescued that good boy! There are so many incredible babies that need loving homes. We just love our Chow/GSD too. She’s such an angel. Stay wonderful and give your pup a big kiss from me! 🥰

I'm just in tears - so happy for Macy/Lucy! When she immediately started licking Shrri's face, I knew it was meant to be!

Thank you for the pupdate, I follow her because she put up with sooo much handling that hurt and never once offered to snap or bite. That's a GREAT dog!
Watching Macy meet her mom really warms my heart so much!!! Sending so much love to Sherri and Lucy
I’m so happy Valorie knew she was loved. This update made me smile and cry my eyes out 😢
There needs to be a worldwide public education program on how to care for pets, they are a responsibility, and to turn them over if you cannot feed the or feel you will hurt them. It’s so wrong to let them go through this. ❤
Some people want the dog but not the responsibility, i feel so bad for those animals
@@tammywooley2635 me too. 💕
I think people have no idea how much work a dog takes when they take them on. They are great but they need a lot of attention and care. Xx

It's so healing to see your network WORKING.
Oh my heart 💔 I'm so sad to hear of Valerie's passing... She deserved a life that was so much kinder. I'm grateful she was able to know love before she left this world
We rescued a 9yr old French Bulldog that had been used for breeding. She was almost as emaciated as Macy. She's a Wonderful dog.
My pleasure to help... It is an honor to join everyone in this amazing journey to save these wonderful living little souls from such pain, I absolutely love dogs but I am highly allergic and no treatments have ever helped hold off my asthmatic reactions.... But I sure can love them from afar right now until medical science meets me halfway LOL. Please continue this wonderful labor of love and I will enjoy all the love that's given to these wonderful doggies everyday. Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your wonderful work.. xo
What a great ending for Macy's story. And I was really pulling for Valerie, she was so sweet and gentle. She ended her life with a full belly, warm/dry, and experiencing love. That's what a dog can only hope for in life. Nice to hear Arthur got to be reunited with his humans. He's a GOOD boy. God bless you, Rocky, Kelly, and Alexa.
My female GSD is 100 lbs. Undoubtedly a tad overweight, but to see this poor sweet girl a total skeleton turned the tear factory on full blast. What monster did this to her??? I hope she goes to a good home and that she doesn't have kidney or other organ complications from such malnourishment 🤞 She is SO sweet. Crying in your lap, telling you her heartbreaking story. They're so vocal to begin with, she definitely has a LOT to say. What a friendly sweet girl. Hope you can find her the right person to help her heal and give her a well deserved forever home💔
100 lbs is more than a tad overweight for a female GSD. The largest females should be about 70 lbs.

Thanks for saving Macy!
thanks
❤❤❤❤to the wonderful lady who adopted macy! macy loves and gets love!
Sherri and Lucy! If you are here, big hugs to you both! Sherri if you need anythin, let me know! I am so happy for you both! ❤❤❤🎉
I adopted a 3 yr old dog that came up from South Carolina. He was part of a police raid on a house. The owner went to jail. His THREE dogs went to a HUGE 4000 dogs a year shelter! What I learned is that they didn't know how to play with other dogs. I got one of them. He likes to run and play with me... chill around the house with people... but is quite selective with other dogs and otherwise doesn't even know how to play! He's friendly enough and indifferent. I LOVE him! My Richie! Macy/Lucy reminds me so much of my Richie!
Sounds like a wonderful guy. Definitely having to teach what everything is, every noise, what's behind every door (everytime it opens), how to play and have fun. That's half the joy is seeing her explore and react to various things and people.
I am so happy for Lucy! Valerie is such a sweetheart. No animal should have to go through what they have gone through.
So glad Arthur’s family came to get him. He’s a great dog and now he can be happy again. Thanks to Rocky! ❤
So happy for Macy/Lucy’s beautiful Happy Tails!!! Congratulations!🎉🎊
Also very sorry to read about Valerie. She was blessed to not die alone on the streets but with someone who loved her and so many who gave her love! May she chase many squirrels across the rainbow 🌈 bridge!!!
Arthur the King! I actually am very happy he is back with his humans! He was very brave while he waited for the situation to be resolved! Good boy Arthur!
(The movie was great! We saw the day I watch YOU😊!)
So very sorry about Valerie 😢
Her crying just breaks my heart, it takes so much for a dog to show their pain. Thank you for getting her out there for people to learn about her story
She is so loving and trusting with all she's been thru.
My Chi owns our home...and everything he sees. He believed me that first day when I said, "This is all yours, your home forever. Come in."
A rescue so abused and fearful for his first 5 years even after 5 years of peace and being adored he still reacts to sudden loud or metallic noise. If only I knew everything he suffered. But he doesn't shake anymore or fall on his back in surrender, seeming to wait for punishment. When I tell him no I always pet him and tell him I love him. He gets it. He's the best behaved Dog I've ever known. I made him a sanctuary and he will go there many times to look out his window or nap. He's 10 years now and the best boy ever❤
I remember Sherri commenting and thinking 'Yes! This is the person for this dog.' Some things are just meant to be. I believe God puts us where we need to be and that's what he did here.
So excited to finally see how Macy is doing! 💜
We LOVE you Rocky. You’re a GREAT doggie DAD.❤
So beautiful to see Macy/Lucy and Sherri 💜 I truly believe there’s a sort of soulmate connection between certain animals and humans, and somehow fate finds a way to bring them together. I’ve been blessed enough to find my soul-cat, I went into the shelter with a solid idea in mind of what I was looking for… but then I met eyes with my girl and knew immediately that I was her mummy. She wasn’t what I thought I was looking for, and there were logical reasons why she wouldn’t be the right pick, but I knew in my heart that I belonged to her and we’ve enriched each other’s life so much 💜
So happy Macy found her forever home and became Lucy!
You're right, Rocky! Anything is better with dogs. 🐕💕🐶💕🐕❣️
If only dogs could talk we would know how they ended up there. Thank you, Rocky for taking care of these lost dogs and restoring their souls.🐾🐾🐶❤️❤️
Oh my what a beautiful Macy girl. She needs so much love!

Finally, Valerie - i lost my German shepherd last year. It was good that Valerie had love and good care when she needed it most.
Thank you for this channel and the love you have for these dogs. Dogs are the best people!
I had the smallest involvement last week in transferring almost 100 dogs from a terrible " rescue" hording then abandonment situation in Honduras. It was a heroic feat and almost a year in the making by selfless determined volunteers who assisted over 500 animals from a life of suffering. Long story short, I spoke very highly of your channel and thought a lot about all you have taught ,while interacting with these sweet souls. Good news , they made it to the States and many are adopted or in foster situations, but like you say the best of life is still to come for these pups, the hardest part is over for them now. Thanks for all you and your team do🎉 you are an inspiration!
The backyard for Macy/Lucy
looks like HEAVEN...❤🌠
Thank you Sheri!! And everyone !!
I love these Pupdates! Elated for Macy, devastated about dear Valarie, and relieved for Arthur! In Arthur's case, it just goes to show that the influence of these videos really does have impacts one might not imagine-- they touch the heart and most of us have good ones (even landlords)!
Oh, and I immediately thought Arthur was a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix-- big, handsome, and those Rottie eyes that convey his teddy bear spirit.
Amazing stories. Thanks!

I hope life is better for Macy!
Poor Valerie.... She knew what love meant before she left this world.. thank you rocky for all you do..
