Hi Laura, I've been doing mixed media art journaling for about 3-4 yrs now and learned most of what I know from the generous artisans on youtube. I thought I knew most of the good "teachers" here, until this evening when I ran into your channel and watched your Layering vids; which then led me to your channel. All this to say, your techniques are amazing and I can't figure out why you don't have a huge following and I came to the conclusion that it may be how your videos are titled? I wonder if you would preface your titles with mixed media techniques if more people would see you? I've pinned some of your vids on Pinterest. Hope this helps. I love what your doing and hope you continue. Thanks for sharing! KimT

      Hi Kimberly,
thanks....I"m very new to the video scene and well mainly do them for my students so they can see...No rush to get out there all quick like just moving along at a nice manageable pace.

+Esther Cohen not on top just make a pool of the medium/I use the polymer medium to set the foam into and let it dry completely...and then coat the sides and back...or make more shapes and utilize all the sides...that's what I suggest in class for the students. more bang for the buck...LOL

why did you add the text, then cover the text up?? i'm am not understanding this. was it because it was torn a certain way? or the size was right? I am new to collage, and am really trying to get an understanding of this. thank you

+Edie Bluntzer Hi Edie, When creating works like this as you watch the rest of the video's in the series, part 2 and 3 you will see they are part of a layer that gets pushed back and become the history. In this style of work Not Every piece of paper is important to see, Later the layers of the paper edges will be shadowed and made important.
