Top and tail tractors, DRS 37422 and ROG 37608 amp up the power leaving York with some eruptive thrash. Working 3J51 York Thrall to York Thrall via Scarborough and Hull.
Holy shit! I listened to this through headphones and it actually scared me. And just look at it. The way it comes around the corner. It's like a fire breathing Ray Harryhausen monster. It's beautifully unnerving.
Nice bit of clagg out of 37422 I remember being on Manchester piccadilly in the 80s a 37 would steam through and choke us out on a cold 🥶 night 🌙 happy days 😀
Posh Rhtt in York,,, it even gets a Headboard 😁 Hell of a sweet sound as she cleared her throat. Just testing the Governor and Turbos,,, push her a bit more and we'll test the Overload Breakers 😁😁👍👍😎😎😎😎
Everybody: ... Class 37: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this one is to do with driver applying power and backing off. You get a similar effect with wheel slip as the loco powers up and wheel slip is detected the wheel slip relay shuts off the power and then immediately reapplies power once the wheel slip isn’t occurring. I am pretty certain 37/4s (the one in this clip) do this automatically however the 37/0 need the power handle returning to off before reapplying power to the traction motors. If anyone has any more info on this please do drop a comment.
Nice to see a bit of grit and grunge still there on the railways
the Turbo is strong with this one
Supercharger
😂😂
@@gedhoughton9523 No, it's a turbocharger, though EE called it a supercharger, for some reason. You can hear the whistling.

Nice bit of clagg out of 37422 I remember being on Manchester piccadilly in the 80s a 37 would steam through and choke us out on a cold 🥶 night 🌙 happy days 😀
Nothing to see here for Greta Thunberg.
Literally stop. You're bringing up a dumb talking point with zero relevance.
Wow, your humour is so edgy and cool. Congratulations 🙄
She would be crying for her Mummy 😁 great video thanks
@@michaelnewman1920 Y'all feel so tough going after a child from behind your keyboards, don't you?
You know rail transport is the go to for environmentalists but you have to sneer. Pathetic.
My favourite retro class of train. I was in York filming today.
Well done that driver !
There's more weight in the sleeping beauty on the back than the train !. Nice video work and thanks for uploading .

Lovely sound ❤️ Prefer British Rail Clag ❤️
Is that ulez compliant?
Of course 😂😂😂
Looks like a well ventilated station.. or..
Those sound pissed off.. why do they throttle hard and let off or is that just how they work? Are they 2 stroke?
Why has the front '37 got different numbers on the front and rear cabs? Is it 37 266 or 37 422?
And the government's giving me a bollocking about my carbon footprint.
Haha very nice! Is that ROG 37 on Loan to DRS or do they own it?
It’s on loan to them.
@@Banjostrings07Productions one of their old locos
Why this loco have 2 numbers - 37266 & 37442?
They need to fit a DPF
BOOO
Will they appear next year... 😢
Why is it common for the BR Class 37 to have a 'on/off' style throttle pattern when accelerating?
I think this one is to do with driver applying power and backing off.

Greta would piss her pants 😂😂😂
Discover the real meaning of the Thrash
How can it have two different numbers 37266 and 37422 ??
37266 was the original number before being converted to a 37/4.
Thanks yes I googled it and found that out
What's it carrying?
equipment to clean the railheads
high preassure water sprayer that is used to get rid of leafs off the rails
How does the locomotive at the back know what the locomotive on the front is doing regarding speeding up and slowing down etc? Often wondered 🤔
eh multi unit cable probably
Mmmmm can practically smell the global warming :)
