Amazing review bro. I'm an ultra person and I'm shocked by how well the s23 held it's game against the iPhones
S23 is a potencinialy the best phone this year for the price, why, because in my country S23 - 256gb cost about 700€, Iphone 15 pro 256gb about 1300€ right now, so almost the price is doubled, S23 Ultra cost about 900€..

I think that the front camera, both in photo and video, as well as the stabilization when recording with the 3X is much better on the Samsung, and this is the normal S23 and not the Ultra.

Nice, unbiased comparison. Just minor difference between the old and the new iPhone, outside of the new features added. They all look great. My only one issue with the Samsung is too much white balance. Looks like they did that to get more light in the shadows. Thankfully, it's something you can adjust by long pressing on the screen before recording and changing the value to where you like it.

Nice! Will you be doing a (13 Pro vs) 14 Pro vs 15 Pro battery test too? Something mrwhosetheboss did not particularly do, and Im sure theres a lot of folks that would be interested in seeing how the new Pro fairs against the last two gens (especially 13 Pro that apparently har a killer battery) :)

Thanks for the informative, well-produced comparison. I'm impressed with what Samsung can do, both in video and stills, with a smaller sensor in the wide camera; the image quality is a toss up between all 3 phones. Same for the tele, ultrawide and selfie cameras; Samsung traded blows with the two iPhones in both video and stills. This cemented my decision to go back to Samsung after a brief stint with my first iPhone in the 12 mini (which I love the size of, but miss the zoom lens and Android!), though I may as well wait to see what the Samsung S24 will be like when it's introduced in 4 months or so.

Some other reviewers like Redscull, talked about in his comparison between S23 and S22 that the S23 now has more «skin-smoothing» going on in the face in portrait photos - so that you loose skin detail/texture in the face - do you find that to be accurate?

Very nice and detailed video! Wow, I didn't expect the s23 ultra to perform this good compared to the newer 15 pro. The only thing I wish they'd improve is the oversharpening in the 12 mp photos. At least the problem goes away using the 50 or 200 mp modes.
He used the regular and the not the ultra on this video to compare to the pros which is exactly the same set up as both. I think he will compare the ultra to the pro max.
That is correct since then size of the S23 at 6.1 inch matches the iPhone 15 Pro and also the MSRP is £849 vs £999, it's more of a fair test since I have the devices.
One 15 Pro Max is here I will do it vs S23 Ultra and Pixel 8 Pro

Bro your problem is easily solved. Install camera assistant and set softening to medium. Raises the quality to another league and removes any oversharpening. Try it.

It is great that you can switch between lenses at 4K 60 on the 15 Pro Max, but why oh why is there STILL no pause record function on this device?. You either end up with a vast array of little snippet videos or one long boring ugly video with walking and panning involved ad nauseum?. Yes, there are apps to bring this feature to the phone, but these are all badly thought out and clunky and inconvenient at best.

At 24:23 just look at the difference of the angle first. Both iphones are less exposed to the street light as compared to the Samsung. When you look at the car in the background, it is almost fully visible in the Samsung's shot but it is not the case with the iphones which means that the Samsung is faced directly to the street light as compared to the other two and that's why it is creating a large lens flair. Please be honest. This is not mistake because the iphones too could have the car in the frame fully.
Also the iPhones are a little wider in the ultrawide lens so they should have covered the car properly more than the Samsung but this man is always favouring iphones.
Apart from pictures at night, can the phones record portrait videos at night?

I just got the s23 here in brazil. Samsung here is much more cheaper duo to the fact they have a fabric here. So they made the phones here. Iphone is twice the money

S23 comes with 4 years of updates these days while Apple will make sure your Iphone is dead after 2 or 3 years. They simply make it run less smoothly every year and kill the battery to make you buy the latest Iphone. So don't believe 'longer lasting Iphone' stories 😅
S23 just a great phone with super fast (and cool) Snapdragon One gen.2 processor, 8gb ram, 120hz Amoled screen, great camera's and "amazing😉" usb-c fast charge.
Here in Holland you can find great contracts with S23 for about 500,- while standard Iphone 15 pro is aboat 1250 euro!!, including quality issues. So unless you're deep into the Apple ecosystem, just go for S23. It's all you need (and more)😊

Huh, right at the start the S23 easily beats the iPhone in selfie video and has many other advantages throughout the video. Overall the phones are pretty much equally good but the S23 cost up to 50 percent less depending on the country.
So overall is a pretty clear win for the S23.

I bought s23 and I regret it. Sound in videos is awful, every movement of my hand , finger makes noises, schratches in the background. Microphone is oversensitive or produce weird noises and samsung customer service is the worst I ever had. I regret switching from iphone 13..
