Fueterventura all the way fir me and when ever we island hop we just can't wait to get back to Fueterventura no matter how late in the evening it is. Fuerteventura for me every time. The live music scene is fabulous in Corralejo, the best music bar in the world: Rock Island, especially on Wednesday Harry 😉 , we once spent a week in Playa Blanca, it was nice but I spent most of the week staring over the water wishing I was in Corralejo 😅. Came home 2 days ago and counting down the days to next trip in November.
Yes it is "the feel" of Corralejo: having travelled to 5 Canary Islands and a lot Of Europe I have never experienced elsewhere.

I have visited Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Gomera, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and La Palma. Recently I spent 3 weeks in Fuerteventura, with a visit to Lanzarote, and agree with most of the observations in this video. My wife and I definitely enjoyed our time in Fuerteventura and the musical nightlife in Corralejo. Nevertheless, having spent considerable time in La Palma, starting in 1972, I would say that La Palma and Gomera are probably the Canary Islands in which one experiences, for the most part, authentic Canarian culture. It is my experience that the other islands have become immersed in "tourist culture". There is Canarian culture in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, to be sure, but not to the extent it is in La Palma.

Good video. I love both islands and think they are both really good for sight-seeing. Playa Blanca is my piece of Paradise just something about the place that I love, like the walk from the lighthouse back into town or in the other direction to Rubicon Marina and Papagayo beaches. Good shops in the old town area and Rubicon and a few good live music venues. Have stayed in a great All inclusive hotel in Caleta de fuste but not a huge lover of the resort. Recently stayed in Corralejo and loved it especially the more varied choice of live music venues which is what really makes our holiday. Both PB and Corralejo have a great choice of restaurants. God willing we will return to both islands as often as possible. Loved seeing you play in Rock Island Harry and spoke to you both nights David, recognised the voice behind me at the bar 😂

There is a special energy in Fuerteventura. Been to Fuerteventura and to Lanzarote and do agree that Fuerteventura feels a bit less turistic and some very local areas still.
Corralejo is nice, but I'd say the best in Fuerteventura is for sure to explore with a car and driving along those cost lines with just the mountains and the sea. Nothing can compare to that. Just breathtaking

As a Lanzarote lover (in particular PDC), I was ready to get mad at this video but it's a well balanced review. I've been loads of times and love it - it just feels like home. The one thing that puts me off having a holiday in Fuerteventura is the style of the buildings. I'm a big fan of 'A Place in the Sun' and the holiday resorts look quite ugly compared to the lovely Lanzarote style. Also, I am worried if I book a holiday in Fuerteventura I would spend the whole time looking across the sea at Lanzarote! Anyway, we have decided to spend one night there next time and get a feel for it (we love live music so it will be the town with music square). Thanks to @scotsmanintenerife for the intro to Fuerteventura and you Nomad Brothers.

Ive done all the 4 main canaries, for me Corralejo is the nicest, its not just the beaches, it feels clean, even the main strip is nice. Theres no tacky areas to it. Retains alot of authenticity to it. Day trips are better for me in Fuerte. El cottilo lagoons, Grandes Playas, Oasis Park. Many happy memories. Ironically just across the water in Playa Blanca is the only place that i really enjoyed. The beachfront long walk, sitting in a restaurant overlooking the ocean. Definitely 2nd place. But ye Fuerteventura for me all day long. But would happily do playa blanca if need be. Im not a fan of places like Playa Del Ingles, Las Americas, PDC etc. Albeit theyre a lot cleaner and more modernised nowadays, but have a tackier feel.

There are no real roads on the island and the only cars are the jeeps that take tourists around along with a handful of service vehicles. It became the 8th canary island in 2018 and only got electricity in the late 70s.its a sand covered island with only a very few little houses on it.. There are a massive number of tacky souvenir shops, dodgy electric / booze / fag shops and bingo / casino shops all along that road. How the hell a Rolex outlet survives in the middle of all that is beyond me!
