  • With calloused hands and a heart spun from Sindh's sun-baked soil, Fakir Zulfiqar weaves melodies on instruments born of ancient lore. The Boreendo, a whisper from Mohen Jo Daro, sings the stories of Sindh under his touch. He also plays the Narr, a bamboo flute, breathes life into his soul, its notes echoing through the reeds of his one hand and Tambooro, a ukulele-like instrument, that completes his symphonies.
His music is a tapestry, each thread a region of Sindh, stitched together with the grace its people. He is a weaver of sonic landscapes, where the mournful wail of the Narr intertwines with the Tambooro's joyous strum, a testament to the duality that lies at the heart of Sindh.
First captured on camera in 2013, his rendition of "Sassui Kohiyari" alongside Saaghar Faqeer became a legend. Since then, his music has transcended borders, blending genres and igniting collaborations. From the electrifying fusion of Coke Studio with The Sketches to the earthy embrace of Land Bodies Ecologies Festival in the UK, Fakir Zulfiqar’s talent transcends languages, a testament to the uniting power of music.
