Thanks, Paul. As always, calm, quality footage. At 3:10 mins, before your caption appeared, I said out loud, "Wow! a Falconer!" It looks as though he'd seen your drone and was waiting for it to pass. Might have been interesting if he hadn't as you might have had worse trouble than the pesky seagulls later on! Other PoI's: 1) At 0:06 mins, it's good to see that they have at last fitted the infill side fence to the New Gates, between the posts and the Gate Tower. 2) At 0:08 mins, I was wondering what that wrapped post lying on the ground was doing there.I couldn't quite see if it's near end, hidden behind a black cabinet. 3) At 0:30 mins, I hadn't noticed before that there appears to be a single bollard not in the area line, that appears to have a channel in the granite setts for it to be lowered into. I wonder what its function is? 4) I think the border to the East of the Michael Jones memorial could do with some watering. Those plants look to be a little stressed. 5) At 1:18 mins, the one place someone messed up with tyre tracks on the granite. 6) At 1:30 mins, one can actually see the gradual gradient down from the Regent Road wall to the old dock wall coping stones and then the incline of the water-effect flags up to the East Stand. 7) At 4:06 mins (and at 21:43 mins), you can now see clearly the first vertical support strut (nearest the brick facade) for the future aluminium paneling of the east side of the Viewing Gallery. 8) At 8:08 mins, you can see that they have installed the wind baffles under the overhang on the first 12 black horizontal bars from the east, westwards. 9) At 16:19 mins, I'm curious as to where those crash barrier look-a-like concrete blocks, with the fork-lifts resting on them, are going. 10) At 16:36 mins, you can see clearly that the water-effect flags are on a slight gradient down for the section in front of the southern terrace tunnel. 11) At 20:00 mins I espy new, not-on-plan, tall baffle frames next to and at rightangles to the SW stadium facade. 12) At 26:29 mins, with one of them caught in the sunshine, I remain curious as to what the scaffolding tower-and-walkways that first appeared a couple of months ago over at the southern end of the East Stand (that one is till in situ) and have been constructed and dismantled progressively around the underside of the overhang of the Upper Tier are being used for. Not seen a contractor actually on them or using them. Possible functions: being used for sealing, painting or electrical work?
Good to see the final panels fitted each side of the West Tunnel / Steps. At the West Channel, looks like there is only a couple of strret Lights to go in. A few Wind Baffles attached to the South West Corner of the Stadium,
There was 3 programmes on last night about the May blitz in Liverpool during 1941. It showed the Huskisson Docks and also the former dock buildings of BMD. What a transformation during these pas4 years. Well done to all the construction and design teams.
Mark: although not alone in your worry, here are some stats to suggest we don't panic, yet, even if they are stats one wouldn't want to have to see. We haven't won a top-flight game in the month of August in any of the last three seasons, drawing three times and losing six, including the last four without scoring. We're winless in 11 away league fix at Burnley since a 2-0 triumph in December (D4, L7). In fact, we're the only non-promoted side without a PL away victory in 2024. We lost every away match last season against the top six, conceding 18 goals. SD is winless in all 8 away matches as a manager vs Spurs in all competitions, only avoiding defeat in Burnley's 1-1 draw at Wembley in Aug 2017. And yet, last season we would have been 11th but for points deductions.
I thought Laing O'Rourke said the Stadium would likely be ready to hand over to Everton by the end of the year. Thereafter the club will continue with fitting out certain areas.
Another great vid, I wonder if one day they will put solar panels on all the roofs, would seem sensible to me
Never say never but I doubt the economics would work that well unless Moore's Law means that PV panels' efficiency alters the equation.
