With that banana peel in the Weapon X bunker and now this backbling, I think we will truly have Peelverine as the meme skin on the next season.
I'm guessing Epic intentionally set the Peelverine back bling to come out with the update on the 16th so data miners weren't able to find it before the announcement. If it was an instant reward on the 10th then it would already be in the current game files and we'd already know about it. Good on Epic for keeping the surprise until they were ready to announce!

I believe this is just a call back to the chapter 2,season four. When Wolverine pulled out his claws, peely did too, but they were bananas! Just about reference but who knows?

First peelverine showed himself during chapter 2 season 4 in the cutscene of him with banana claws then he reappeared this season in the Weapon X Wolverine POI when one of the tubes was for Wolverine and the other one was for peelverine because you can see a banana in the other tube and now it is kinda confirmed now that we will get the skin with the back bling now showing PEELVERINE.
