I ask you because to be fair most of the structures you presented in your last videos are not built for endermen, the entrances are 2 blocks talll and the fact that endermen, the great powerful builders, couldn't defeat a dragon while a dude came out of nowhere can, is just ridiculous, plus the egg doesn't make the dragon respawn, the crystals do. Not only that but the fact that they can spawn in the overworld even tho you they were trapped in the end, as you said, disprooves the whole idea of them being defeated by a dragin tyrant

"since villagers still exist in the world today wouldn't they still be sailing and exploring?"
For anyone who has seen the movie Moana (I have, my sister spent a year watching it twice every three days), there is a logical explanation for that - dangers of the ocean. Perhaps they stopped sailing because their ships never returned...
Just an alternative theory I don't really think so myself but I would like to put that out there.

    • @spammal
      @spammal Před 2 lety +91

Maybe the ocean dangers explain the fossil bones which can be found. These could've been big creatures who broke the villagers ships, hence shipwrecks, and are the ancestors of current ocean mobs like guardians. However, some evolved to be peaceful and became squids, later finding glow ink sacks, consuming them and generating a glow effect on their skin, forming glow squids.

I feel like there’s still a mystery around prismarine. Prismarine can only be obtained by mining it from temples or from Guardians. This implies that the Guardians may have come first (the temple was built from harvesting them), but that they are also artificial. Or maybe they were built at the same time, just with a raw material we can’t access yet.

In the enderman video, you noted how there was a flaw in why there was certain loot in the chests that are located in end cities. But the theory at 6:50 would explain that. If they were learning about enchantments, the ancient people would most likely teach or show them with armor as to not look like they were going to attack, and not give them any weapons to attack them with. Also, trade is one of the first things developed by people, so I’m going to assume that went on in the over world. That would explain the unenchanted items in those chests.

@@The_Jovian well to support your plague, let's say that it was caused by pigmen or pigs' consumption of nether warts. Since the main use of nether warts is for brewing, its more likely that it has mutagenic properties that changes to make new stuff out of it. And since pigmen are supposed to be inhabitants of the village, you might guess why the builders took them to the nether with its very rich gold deposits. So, plague broke out (either by meat consumption or pigmen go crazy and must kill) and it reached the overworld, making zombies(variants took more time to appear). The current piglins and hoglins are the pigs creatures that adapted to their environment. The reason probably from their zombification is from uv exposure from the sun, triggering the "brewing" part. Skeletons are probably soul sand stuff.

It does have some of the same problems as GT in my opinion. Just because two things share qualities doesn’t mean they necessarily are connected. For example: A. end cities have been built by someone. B. endermen can move blocks. Therefore endermen must have made the end cities despite there being nothing in the actual game that supports this. Endermen are never seen to built these cities, collect the resources used to built these cities or even have any type of interaction with the end cities. It’s just endermen live in the end, end cities are in the end therefore end cities must have been built by endermen. It’s kinda like how he said in his previous theory that shulkers make enderpearls. Nothing in the game supports this, he just made a connection to serve the theory. If there isn’t anything in the actual source that supports the theory the theory doesn’t hold up.

What if the oceans were once dry in the enderman built the Ocean monuments during that time only for them to be inhabited by guardians and their elder guardian counterparts resulting in the flooding of the oceans. What if the reason enderman as a species are allergic to water is because they were cursed by the elder guardian(s)?

Fun fact: there are disturbing noises of a possible sea monster when exploring deep underwater in Minecraft and that explains why there are so many shipwrecks in the oceans. That also explains why many of the shipwrecks are destroyed like broken in half and why guardians are so protective of their monuments.
Edit: perhaps the sea monster looked similar to the common squid but much bigger as guardians are very hostile towards squids. The sea monster had to be at least as big as the biggest shipwrecks you can find as the monster had to be powerful enough to sink these ships. These squid titans could also have caused the demise of the ancient builders.
My theory goes that as the ancient builders were carrying cargo across the ocean plenty of times and at any given moment, there are at least a few hundred ships sailing. Their economy was booming when the thing arrived. It was massive. Bigger than anything the ancient builders have ever seen before. It destroyed any ship that passed by, often ripping the ship into small bits. Not even the guns on board the ships did anything to the creatures. Sea travel became impossible as more and more of these creatures appeared. The ancient builders were stuck. As the creatures learned how to mutate squids in some way that is unknown, they turned squids into minions. The creatures even learned how to slightly mutate the squid minions and mutated the squids into ultra aggressive spider-like creatures. These can still be found today as spiders. Anyway, the mutated squids started to attack the ancient builders and spread a desease across the ancient builders. I would presume that the virus would then go on to kill all ancient builders, turning them into either undead versions of the ancient builders, or a live skeleton. Some ancient builders tried to flee to the nether, but the virus followed, turning the ancient builders into wither skeletons or killing them altogether, releasing their soul energy in the air and ground causing some sections of the soul sand Valleys to be created. Eventually, the creatures died out as their main food source died out or simply wasn't enough to sustain them. Anyway, the guardians kept on protecting the ocean monument and killed any squids nearby, fearing that these squids would kill their masters, elder guardians. This is where we are today.
Thank you for all the replies. They encouraged me to make this theory. Anyway bye. Feel free to give your opinions on this theory in the replies.

One of my main problems with this theory is where did the prismarine come from then if not found anywhere naturally? I also think there’s too much coincidences going on with the Enderman for them to not have a larger role in the story.
We also now have a lot more to think about now with the ancient cities and soul remnant things.
Another thing, the ancient builders worked so hard to make underwater temples and just to hide mostly gold and sponges right. Gold being the most important thing there, maybe it’s related to the piglins somehow.

perhaps whatever event created the undead hordes destroyed a villager civilization that has only reverted to an agrarian lifestyle out of pragmatism? it happened in north america and southern africa at the onset of the little ice age in the 1300s, as both of these civilizations largely abandoned their cities to become farmers and foragers. it happened to the maya of central america, to much of medieval europe after the fall of rome, and to much of the eastern mediterranean at the end of the bronze age collapse. civilizations come and go but many of the people still remain.

After all, illagers are the only mob seemenly capable of actually casting some sort of spells. The evoker do generate undead with one, after all.

Maybe the villager ancestors built these structures, and than this plague event broke down their development and only now they're like reaching a medieval type timeline of recovery. The zombies are are human like the drowned, so maybe they came to this "new world" that's what we see, and discovered it through these sunken ships, from the "Old world". They discovered resources which made them make the mineshafts, and they discovered the monuments and found out the key to getting through them; the heart of the sea structure. The monuments and underwater ruins likely were there long ago in the ancient times, but flooded with rising sea levels, which caused the villager race to move to higher levels, and become a peaceful, isolated society. They do connect however through the wells and the wondering traders so there is an economic system plus emeralds. Maybe gold used to be the ancient currency. Interesting theory though...

Personal head canon: the Nether was used for resources (mainly potion related) but was evacuated after the spawning of the Wither (which is why the portals were broken). Those killed by the Wither became Wither skeletons, whose only motive is to protect their fortresses from the Piglins (the Nether’s native species). The Undead plague/curse spread into the Overworld anyway, leading to the extinction level event and explaining where everyone else is. The cells in the Strongholds might have been used for quarantine. I like the idea that the plan was to escape into the End, but since only one in 1 billion portals is ever actually open in-game this seems unlikely. Our character has to know what he’s doing, since the odds are low that you would happen to coincidentally open portals to other worlds. So here we go: Steve is a shipwrecked sailor during the Undead apocalypse who is trying to gather resources to survive and open an End portal in search of his friends while learning the truth about the Wither. Along the way he must descend into the deepest caverns, seek out the terrible Woodland Mansion, and venture into the fiery depths of the Nether. And all the while he is being watched by a nearly identical replica of himself who lacks eyes.

Ok, I agree with your theory, but what about this: Herobrine is the last surviving Builder, and years of isolation have caused him to hate players. The Enderman are builders that evolved, but over time forgot their building techniques. They attack people who look at them because they consider themselves superior. A new race was born, but they are very simple, and therefore rely on the guardians that were created by the Builders. (Think about it. Iron Golems are covered in vines and are clearly ancient.) From them, another race is born (The Players). The Player is then spotted by Herobrine, who thinks they are one of the long lost Builders and is angry because he thinks he was alone. He attacks the Player using long-forgotten magic, and the two battle for years. The Illagers are servants of Herobrine who are a subspecies of Villagers and are far more evolved. They 'raid' villages hoping to find and kill the Player. During the battle, the Player discovers the temples and learns about the history of the world. Now the Player goes to the Nether and finds the fortress. All over the fortress are signs of life, but the only life forms here are Blazes and Wither Skeletons. The Blazes are spirits of war and are commanded by the Wither Skeletons, who (I agree with you on this) are Builders who were infected. The infections spread to the overworld, losing strength in the portal. After defeating the Wither, the Player finds another clue. An Enderman (Because in the new update Endermen are in the Nether) some of the Endermen found a way out of the End, but are still stuck in the Nether, and can only travel to the Overworld when the moon is up. The Player travels to the end, hoping to free the Endermen only to find that they are serving the last surviving Ender Dragon after they slew the rest of the species. Now, after destroying the last Dragon, the Player regains all the knowledge of the past (What if exp. is knowledge?) and attempts to subdue Herobrine, and now we're at the present...

Ocean monuments could have been made with only such little gold to show how unadvanced the civilization was at the time of construction. The monument could have been built before there was ocean. Since there were eventually crashed ships and other temples above surface and nether fortresses, it seems like 8 gold blocks seems a bit too much to build a whole monument for them (as you said). It could represent how primitive the civilization was at the time of constructions, and the ocean monuments are older than everything else. Could even go as far to draw the connection that in nearly every culture in the real world, a great flood came and destroyed everything before it. Though ofc this doesnt explain guardians, shipwrecks, and such. Just a comparison I drew

I've compiled a bunch of theories and questions about this series so I'm just going to repost them in one on all these videos to increase the odds of them getting answered or maybe even made into videos
    1. Do you think somewhere in the minecraft world there's a lost disk called disk 12?
    2. something I want to know is what a respawn anchor is supposed to be because respawning is not something that actually happens in universe but with the bed its obvious that the actual in universe use is just for sleeping but the respawn anchor only sets a spawn point so what's it actually doing in the context of the world?
    3. What are the differences between different forms of undeath? We see Zombies, husks, Zombie villagers, zombie horses, zoglins, zombie pigmen, and drowned who all just have decaying skin. Skeletons, wither skeletons, strays, and skeleton horses who just keep their bones then we see Phantoms who have a more ghost like appearance. Also as an addon to that what is a ghast because I always thought it was a ghost but it isn't so maybe it conveniently evolved like squids or something.
    4. Something that I find interesting is that other creatures when inflicted by the zombie virus seem to become mindlessly violent but when horses and piglins become zombified they act mostly normal, with piglins specifically the only differences are they seem to not have the full intelligence of normal piglins because A they don't still trade and B they only spawn with Swords and don't use cross bows. Another weird detail is that zombified piglins are immune to fire which is a huge red flag for a couple of reasons because one normal piglins aren't fire immune but most other undead creatures are particularly weak to fire. Another undead mob that has weird contradictions to most undead mobs are the zombie and skeleton horses which also keep their normal friendliness and seem to be the least far gone of these undead mobs not only being still domesticatable but being even easier to domesticate. I originally assumed that the undead virus only makes humans violent but that is simply not true because Phantoms and the wither are also not friendly. The biggest weird detail in all of this is that other undead mobs seem to still see these creatures as natural allies with skeletons riding skeleton horses and withers never attacking anything that is already undead.
    5. I think that the fox is most likely the most intelligent and possibly important mob that's completely a wild animal (meaning it has no building ability, doesn't exist in its own structure, can't trade, and doesn't have the ability to create a full society) I think that because they are one of 6 mobs that sleep (you, villagers, foxes, 3 illigers) which as you established in the Phantoms video is already important they also have the ability to do several other things that very few can do including using totems of undying, enchantments on weapons, and chorus Fruit, and also can sometimes be seen holding emeralds that weren't given to them and seem to care about them a bit more than other non food items which may have even inspired the villagers to hold a similar appreciation for emeralds although that and the rest of this is just speculation I think two possible explanations for this are that they could be some sort of ancestor to either villagers or ancient builders although it's kinda hard to place because they have the emerald connection to villagers but can do other things like defend themselves although it could be a common ancestor for both and then my second idea take a trip even further through speculation town and a bit into the early stages of creepy pasta Avenue with the possibility that they once were villagers or ancient builders (again it's kinda hard to place) who were turned by a magic enemy with the most likely culprit being the illigers but another possibility is that the illigers themselves might have accidentally turned some of there kind into foxes although that's unlikely because foxes are only hostile when something attacks it first and even then tend to prefer running away. Anyway foxes have a ton of weird and specific properties that I'd love to see your interpretations on.
So those are all my pitches.

One thing about the End cities and End ship is that they have rooms and doorways too low for an Enderman to walk through or inside of, which is the only reason why I think the End structures weren't built by the Endermen themselves. You took the low height of the rooms in shipwrecks into considerations in this video so I'm going to also assume that the build sizes aren't just some artistic liberty.
I don't really think that Endermen being originally builders or vice versa are any more likely than each other since they both have glaring holes, I'm leaning more to the possibility that Endermen are something else completely different.
Very fascinating angle with the Heart of the Sea actually being some sort of navigating tool. If that's what they are they're almost like the Eye of Ender with how it can navigate the stronghold. While obviously not being an actual mechanic in-game, it would be interesting if they were used to find your way towards an ocean monument in addition to it being a key (just like how the ender eyes are keys to the End portal).
I guess the guardians are one of the two hostile mobs without object permanence alongside Ghasts. Nice spot with the resemblance to underwater mines, I never noticed that and that's probably one of the developers' inspirations for their design now that I look at it. I'm not sure if guardians are really attracted to conduits explicitly, I'd have that tested that thoroughly in a controlled environment before claiming it's a game mechanic. It's also possible that Guardians are just attracted to the light emitted by the conduit and they'd do the same with sea lanterns?
I'm definitely looking forward to your take on what the apocalyptic event is. I have a small theory that the purpose of the 8 gold blocks at the center of the ocean monument might serve some sort of healing function. This is related to how the Golden apple is a healing item and the healing potion uses glistering melon which is crafted with gold nuggets. The totem of undying is also gold in color despite being uncraftable, though the same is true for bells.
Also, 8 blocks of gold is what you needed to craft the now uncraftable Enchated Golden Apple, it might be a coincidence but it's a pretty interesting connection.

I guess the Guardians (and more specifically, the Elder Guardian) are made of prismarine and the heart of the sea. As you even stated before, the heart of the sea looks more like to a closed eye, that opens when activated (conduit).
We also need to relate another thing, the recipe for the conduit and it's powers, a prismarine cage that gives the player mining, breathing and building abilities underwater and attacks hostile creatures who approaches the conduit. The elder guardian has also the ability to give the player the Mining Fatigue effect, just like what the conduit do, but reversed. Also, just like the conduit can attack other creatures, and the guardian attacks with their eyes beams, that could also explain why the guardians are attracted by the conduit, they seem to want to be part of it, mixing the nautile sheels with their eyes to get more powerful. That could also explain why the elder guardian has a more brownish color, they are also build with nautile shells, that's why they are much more stronger compared to regular guardians.

I have a theory of that extinction event: It would've been the wither curse. The nether shows many signs of having been wiped out in some way, perhaps some catastrophic event that changed it from a very different cave system to how it is now, as evidenced by the ruined portals having been shattered and imbued with the portals' energy, and the nether spreading around them (seemingly cutting off as the portal itself was also destroyed). Ancient debris, of structures made from netherite, one of the strongest materials we know of, barely survived this, and the immensely heated, soft rock of the nether lead to it sinking to the bottom of the caves (I believe the original end portal to have been rediscovered, but a different yet similarly destructive event might've shattered the end dimension into what it is now). Afterwards, a different civilization rebuilt the portals and found the dimension in its current state, eventually building the fortresses and bastions. They then would've eventually been corrupted by the lingering effect of whatever exactly happened previously, and turned into the undead we see. Some of those undead locked in the nether when the portals were closed again or eventually more slowly destroyed by that lingering corruption would have changed into wither skeletons, a form of more potent undead that can afflict those they contact with a lingering decay. Piglins could be a surviving version of that race, devolved from their former glory, leaving their once proud bastions crumbling. The undead of the overworld are those who remained there, having spread their curse and overwhelmed the entire race. The villagers may be a similarly devolved version of these, having been driven back to this state by the constant siege, though it seems to have eventually also slowed - illagers may be a force who stopped the attacks, and helped to turn zombified villagers back, but due to their knowledge they may have attempted to go further, causing them to have been thrown out as they were. Ravagers might be a result of this. Alternatively, the villages might have survived by being small enough settlements to not have a nether portal, sparing them from the initial swell in undead through the portals. They have docks, which though not big enough to build and launch ships of the size of the wrecks, might be big enough to support trading with one. Villagers also are shown to have had some knowledge of golems, shown by their iron ones (though it seems they cannot do so anymore), and the wither itself is one of the few golems that can be made, supporting the ancient race having some connection to the villagers. If the ancients were the ones to become the undead of today, it makes sense that they built the underwater ruins - drowned are said to be those who once lived in them. Guardians also appear to be some kind of golem, given their properties - made of a type of block, unaffected by many things (they don't suffocate in air, similarly to how iron golems are unaffected by enchantments and the wither is unaffected by some damage at times), and aggressive with a single purpose towards select targets. Guardians, to me, sound like stone grinding, or air rushing through a tunnel, and they are known to be hollow. Their above water sounds seem like their moving parts losing the constant lubrication of the water. As such, they'd be related to those of the villagers' as well.

Do you guys think if we (respectfully but forcefully XD) spammed this to the devs they'd be like WHY DIDN'T WE THINK OF THAT? WE'LL DO IT RIGHT NOW.

It literally all just clicked in my head. Eyes of ender are canonically (in dungeons) on the HEART of endersents (even if theyre really an eye). The heart of the sea is actually an EYE. Both of these eyes come from different species, with the eyes of ender most likely coming from the warden's original creature (before being revived with 3 souls, its eyes removed to make them more alert for sound of the wither approaching) and the eye of the sea coming from an ancient underwater creature thats now extinct. Most likely the hostile squid monster from the last mob vote

yeah, but villages don't naturally generate in jungles. the only way to get naturally generated jungle villagers are to have a village overlap with a jungle
