He began to disdain his marriage, and it was a long marriage that worked for as long as it should have. Sometimes it seems like she (Caitlyn) wants notoriety and that's why she complains so much about not participating in family activities. And as for the graduation he complains about, if his own daughter didn't inform him, maybe it's because he isn't present enough for it to be important to tell his father about it. So yes, I'm team Kris with you on this one, but not because of the transition, but because the person Bruce is becoming is not good natured.

Rich or not, having a husband changing sex is a tornado for every family, it’s hard and it takes a toll on everyone.
Trans people don't actually change sex physically, they transition as best as money and science will allow. They try to get as close to their desired female/male body as possible but they cannot change their gametes etc. They essentially still are the same sex they always were. They change their gender identity for sure but the physical transition could be any range of stages including no physical changes at all. They don't actually change sex. That is not humanly possible. They change gender identity 👍🏽

I'm going to have to correct you here. It's not a decision. I understand your point and I agree that sometimes the couple may fall apart but there are also couples that stayed in that relationship and stayed married, or got re-married when the person in that relationship had came out as transgender. This is just one of those unfortunate situations where it just happened. I'd also like to point out that being transgender isn't something that one would think about in one day and say "Alright, that is who I am now." it takes months, years a lot of years for a trans person to be sure of their true gender.

I have seen a friend of mine's ex-spouse actively try to ruin her and their kid's lives for her divorcing them after their transition and the kids taking the mother's side. For example, the kids were embarrassed their 60-year-old ex-father was dressing like a 20-year-old stripper in public and that was taken as them being bigoted and they tried to tell the court it was parental alienation. Among a whole sort of creepy ish. It can be a cult and trans people are actively told to completely cut off their families for even questioning. I don't think it is inherent to being trans and ofc there is reason to be on the defense when you're trans but completely acting like the victim and that you are entitled to people to put your wants in front of their own is pretty common when people transition ntl

I get the impression you have the point of view of someone on the outside who has probably spent more time empathizing with family, then taking a equal amount of time to listen to the plights of what it would be like for the Trans individual involved. Imagine being blamed for finally having the courage to be one’s own self? For everyone in your family to be embarrassed of who you were born to be.
As for the way she dresses, (slut shamming is not okay either) but imagine feeling feminine or masculine for the first time ever. To feel your body match your soul. To feel sexy, empowered, authentic. Remember she is just coming into herself. When you are a young woman (not in all cases) you can’t wait to to wear makeup, put on a flattering top, heels or even a short skirt. You tone things down as you mature in your body. As for her, she is now living a life she had only dreamed of. She may transition to a more conservative look in the future as she becomes more settled in her new form.
I say all this but I do recognize that this is not something the family may have wanted and they have their right to their feelings. I just don’t think stating trans people are similar to a cult mentality and that they a group of people who (unreasonably or otherwise)encourage each other to distance themselves from caring family members is fair. The gathering of trans people is not a cult but a community. There is a big difference.

It’s more the fact that however accepting they are of this new person with a new gender, they still are grieving the person they lost.
They literally call their previous name a “dead name” so how do you expect those around you to react immediately when you have essentially passed away to them. Takes time to grieve and accept the new person in their life.

If I was in Kris’s shoes I would have a difficult time with Caitlyn’s transition too. Not due to transphobia, but because of romantic history with someone who is literally a completely different person now. It would take some time to get used to.
