Race Day, Tarawera Ultra-Trail New Zealand, My first 100 miler

I started running in 2019, and soon learnt about ultra races. The Tarawera Ultra-Trail New Zealand has been a bucket list race for me since then.
Although I live in the UK, I was born in New Zealand, so it only seemed right that I chose this race as my first 100 miler.

To be honest, the entire race was a beautiful place to run. But yes, the Tarawera Forest was spectacular.

Great video. If you started in 2019 wow a miler and sub 24 really well done! Gathering intelligence, hoping to come down as a destination race to start with the 102k and then the miler as my first miler (prob at 58-60yrs). Vids like these detailing your experience are really helpful. thanks!

Yeah, it’s a unique course with the boat ride, it’s about a mile boat ride, but obviously not counted as part of the 100 miles 😂🤙🏼
