    Glad you found a solution. I have always put this bike in a category like most of the fat tire e-bikes. Built for greenways, but can handle some light off road. At there price point it would be good for that. Great job letting others know what could be done.

    Great video! I have the same Lectric XPeak ST arriving in 2 days. At 6'1" 240 I also don't like how I normally feel like I'm sitting on top of the bike either. Ordered the handlebars on your recommendation. Also got a 90mm stem extender just in case, a SR Suntour suspension seat post and a nice seat all based on videos like yours. I may have overdone it. Oh well. I want to be comfortable. Thank you for the idea.

    I love my XPeak High-Step 26”. I’ve been riding it for five weeks now and the ride is great. I added a soft cruiser seat which help a lot with my butt fatigue. Not ride related but I added a Lectric Pannier Bag the other day, a theft alarm and two mirrors. Thanks for your great ride video.

    Nice ride and views Lance, its good you've been able to change the saddle and bars to make the bike more comfortable. The Suntour NCX seatpost is a great upgrade for any hardtail I use that on my bike, it works great with that cloud c9 saddle with the springs in it. It feels like bouncing on top a cloud for sure. Nice upgrades to the bike 👍

    I'm still watching, but what about the wobble?

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  Před 6 měsíci

      No wobble since stripping it down. If I force a zig zag hard enough I can feel a little wave through the frame, but thats trying to force it myself.

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_ Před 6 měsíci

      I think he resolved it by taking the rack and basket off. It would be interesting to see if adding the rack and basket back one at a time, and see if the wobble comes back? Maybe the different seating position and wider bars will help the wobble situation in some way.

      In the 80's the KZ1000 motorcycle was used extensively by police departments. Excellent motorcycles, they had problems in 'police trim'. The majority of the problems were caused by extra weight (police gear) on the rear of the motorcycle due to its frame design and front fork geometry

    Did you modify any of the wiring for the handle bars? Did you add any type of riser to the handle bars? Or are the handle bars enough rise in there design? Thanks for making this a little bit more user friendly for bigger dudes.

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  Před 6 měsíci +1

      No wiring modifications needed. Just had to unravel some of the cable management for a bit more slack for the control pad. No added riser, the new bars I put on added 3.5 inches in rise attached to the existing clamp. I wanted to still keep somewhat of a mountain bike stance without being to upright. For me it has worked well and I am 6 foot tall.

    Hey Lance, I am a modiefied XP 2.0'er with 4k miles over 2 years in your neck of the woods, next time I see you I will try to flag you down to talk :) Anyways, I am concerned with the foot strike on the XPeak but want to upgrade so bad because of that free $500 battery! Could you kindly measure form the pedal in the front position and the middle of the pedal to the tire in the possible strike position. I want to see if my size 12 can avoid it! Also, what is the bike weight without all the accessories, 67lbs like on website or less, thanks riz!

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I dont have a scale to weigh the bike, but for the pedals, its 3" from the inner corner of the pedal. This would be the part of the pedal that is the closest to the wheel. From the middle of the pedal it is 3.5" .

    • @rizzer57
      @rizzer57 Před 5 měsíci

      @@theridewithlance That seems incredibly close, I'll have to measure tomorrow. It has not become an issue for you? I wonder if the high step is an inch longer since the bike is a inch longer as the to battery and only 67lb fat tire eMTB is amazing deal. Anyways, I have a Lectric BMXP 2.0 (BMX handlebars, dual batteries super fun ebike, 2 baterries 67pounds only --- if I ever flag you down while riding the lake and creek trails, that is me!) Thanks, riz

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  Před 5 měsíci +1

      If I put the middle of my foot on the pedal it hits. But I pedal with the balls of my feet so I haven't had the problem. I would assume you would gain an inch more of clearance with a longer wheel base.

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  Před 6 měsíci

      Fenders yes, baskets no. This is also is my setup for mountain biking, so I dont think I would be putting the cargo baskets back on.

  • @dennisbrown3652
    @dennisbrown3652 Před 5 měsíci

    You didn’t say what brand upgrade you used. I would like to use that similar model you used. I put a sun tour post on mine. I don’t know if you have watched Gary’s Adventures. He solved the wabble problem. I’m taking mine in tomorrow and have the Cane creek Hellbender 70 installed into my XPeak step thru.

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I use the Suntour NCX seat post suspension with the Cloud 9 Cruiser Select seat. I say Garys video, but since I removed the racks the wobble is gone. I like this way since I use it for off roading riding and dont need the storage racks right now. If I get to the point of neeing storage in it then I will get the part Garys is talking about, but it would be nice if Lectric supplied these to all Xpeak owners.

    • @dennisbrown3652
      @dennisbrown3652 Před 5 měsíci

      @@theridewithlance I agree. I will be talking to Lectric about the fix. I took my bike in for repair like Gary did. Hope it works. Lectric should offer the service to be done. I’ve had mine for three weeks and decided to fix it before I start riding it. I did install the Suntour on mine as well as my 3.0. Works great. What did you do for a handle bar. I’m thinking about changing mine. Thanks Dennis Brown.

  • @pedrofernandez8729
    @pedrofernandez8729 Před 6 měsíci +3

    If you sell this as a mountain bike, why load it up with all that crap, like racks and baskets and fenders. Perhaps the boys at Lectric should take a hint and make the changes you did.

    • @bigwhiskey5748
      @bigwhiskey5748 Před 6 měsíci

      They want the bike to be marketed to hunters as well,the racks and baskets and even the fenders all are arguably necessary for that use case.

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I think they were just incitements to help make a decision to buy. I dont think it occurred to them that installing the racks would have caused these problems.

    What about the wobble and short pedal distance with the front wheel on the XPeak everyone is complaining about?

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  Před 6 měsíci

      Wobble, at least for me is gone. Nothing I can do about the pedal distance. Removing the front fender does help with about two more inches of clearance, but you loose the fender.

    • @nathancereska8215
      @nathancereska8215 Před 3 měsíci

      Wobble is only with step thru model with weight on the rear rack…. The pedal distance is possible to hit your tire but really isn’t a thing. It never actually happens

    • @Bobster986
      @Bobster986 Před 3 měsíci

    OMG I get that you love your new bars.How does their modified cadence sensor compare to a torque sensor?

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  Před 5 měsíci

      I have not riden a bike with a torque sensor yet, but compared to the cadance sensor on my Zebra its "almost" a night a day difference. The rider has to put a little more effort into peddling as it doesn't go to the programmed speed in the PAS level you're in if you're just barely moving the pedals. It's a much more natural feeling.
