Wilbur, I know this is hard to believe, even when you’re a master of geography, but Iceland is actually a very hot place. Greenland on the other hand, is the cold place. It was a war tactic to name both places opposite of what they actually are.

Let me tell you an old tale from the colden days. It’s about a war. The war of the logs and the stripped. A great battle between two leaders of great armies. Frozen in the cold, they fought to build a warmer, stronger, and more beautiful cabin. However this all ended just as it started. With controversy. As each man performed one dangerously stupid act in an attempt to one up the other, they both came so near to death that their lives flashed before their eyes. With this they decided to work together, but the rivalry was still blazing underneath their frozen skin.

I had to learn how to treat hypothermia cause I used to go to a military-like camp, and yeah, it does slow down your thought process. What it also does make you incredibly sluggish. It also causes your organs to stop working normally, and if left untreated, can be fatal because it completely stops your heart and such.

I'm with you on being afraid of the ocean Fundy! When I was a kid, I used to be really scared of water - in video games specifically (real life water - completely ok, but the programmed one used to scare me...). I only conquered this fear when Sims 3 Isla Paradiso came out and I wanted to play it so bad that I sat there going into underwater location and back on the surface, until it didn't scare me anymore

Aside from the fact that gas liquifies at -200C ice actually wouldnt be slippery at all, cause its the water on ice thats slippery and body heat/friction melts the ice making it slippery but if its super super cold there wont be any liquid water so it would be like walking on a solid block of glass

yeah, i had a similar thing when i first joined minecraft, i dug a hole and couldnt figure out how to escape (i was in creative, but i didnt know about flying) and so i just dug a tunnel in one direction. i cant find that world, i think it was on a different account, but im sure im still "stuck" under ground.

at some point we added a datapack that just kills my friend if he gets too close to a squid because he was scared of the squids
we still have it, and now there's a datapack that lets us get squid spawn eggs
I used to be terrified of squids. In minecraft, even though I KNEW that they were peaceful mobs, I completely steered clear of them. Whenever I would hit them and ink came out, I would immediately retreat back to land. Dunno when or how I stopped being scared of them, but that's a part of my life I won't forget
fun fact for everyone who finds this comment, in case you don't know: there's something called paradoxical undressing! It happens when your body has hypothermia so badly that you believe you're getting hot, and because your thought processes are so bad in that state, you just undress. It happens because when you're in the cold, all your body heat and bloodflow sort of condenses to your organs to keep them warm to function (that's why your fingers get so cold after being outside for only 10 minutes in the snow) so therefore you do, in a way, begin to overheat.
@Ava Pearson you can get hypothermia in any level of cold but i do live in ohio. our winter's been killer so far and it's only just beginning.
