Masterpiece..Rammstein is art..❤
March the 11th my mom passed away from a very short battle with cancer (less than 3 months not even a battle but I digress) she was just 60... This song has kept me sane since last year and helped me a bit to process my grief. Since then It has take the top place for my favorite Rammstein songs.

the lyrics hit me in the core
The song is about time itself and the inevitable path towards death (btw Zeit means just time, not time is coming).
You should definitely look up the translated lyrics, since they add a ton to the song's meaning and are beautifully written.
Time really is one of those things that are just really frightening if you sit down and think about it. It imprisons us all completely, as if it was an endless train where all the cars are locked, running continuously off the edge of a cliff, and you don't even know how far ahead your railcar is. "Stop, please stop!" as the song says...

Another thing that came to my the babies being put back in to the mother to be born again on earth and also coming back in a sense they died on earth and are now being born in the other world and their birth or rebirth on earth is them already starting to die because as soon as your born your dying..your dying to live or as Rammstein put it "Wir sterben weiter bis wir leben" "We keep dying until we live" because in a sense what we perceive as dying is us actually being born again into the other world that's why the girl in the end seems happy when she dies because she knows that her death here means her being born over there..if that makes any Sense?

it's about the inevitability of time... from the moment we are born, we know our life will end one day... ready or not, we'll die one day
„Zeit“ (time)
Three creatures of destiny are named: their names are Urd (fate), Verdandi (that which is to come) and Skuld (guilt; that which should be). Their names are considered to be Norse equivalents of common medieval notions of time in the form of personifications of the past (Urd), present (Verdandi) and future (Skuld).
The song deals with the theme of death and the transience of life. These motifs are expressed within the video through various images and metaphors. At the beginning, when the band members are drowning in the sea, Lindemann sings about the river of time, in which all people are trapped. This metaphor is visualized by the drowning in the video. In the war scene, where children first play war and later a battle actually takes place, the band sings about the inability to stop the future: "You can't summon the future, you don't tolerate a stay". In the same place where children used to play, they now die in war. The song expresses the wish that the beautiful moments as children should always last. The women who give birth to their children at the Sandstrom represent the cycle of time. In the same place where the dead daughter will later appear, children will also be born. The farmer and his daughter are separated in a moment that seemed perfect for them. The father tries to stop his daughter, but fails. Accordingly, he mourns the moment. The character in the video is clearly identifiable as Death by the black cloak. I finaly saw them this year live, and had the luck that they played this song! And such as he likes to do, Till changrd the line _ein Jeder kennt, den perfekten Moment (everyone knows the perfect moment)_ into _ihr alle kennt, den perfekten Moment (you all know the perfect moment)._
Rammstein and Rammsteins Videos are ART. Even though you got stuck a little bit with the soldier-thing .... it made you THINK and hit you emotionally .... and I believe that is one of the true reasons of art. And there is - in my opinion - no other band, that achieves this. Best example: Their "Deutschland" video ... not one teacher in the world or not one politician has managed to educate, show and transport so much impact ... and that happened within 9 minutes. The video made many people outside Germany rethink, shows a perfect view on German feelings about their motherland and the dark history .. the twist ... And I am mentioning this knowing songs like "in the ghetto" from Elvis Presley or other art criticizing main (world-peace)-topics.

There's an interesting effect with this song because it can emphasize your current emotional state. Just watch it in different moods. I haven't experienced anything like this before with a song.

My interpretation and thought was time goes on like a continuous cycle and those rare occasions when we are truly happy of course we want time to stop. The showing of the sand and hourglass ⌛ time keeps going and them showing the scenes reversing to me meant a desire to go back in time either to the moment of birth and start our lives over or to before we're even born saying no i don't even want to be born i want to go back before i was even conscious of my own existence and mortality. Them being blindfolded to me was no one knows whats going to happen in the future we don't know what kind of lives these babies are going to have.

The title means simply "time". Not "time is coming".
This song has extraordinary beautiful lyrics...and sorry: reacting to this song without understanding the lyrics makes almost no sense at all.
